  1. sarcastic yes but it was also very true - the IS is not a mass produced car the same as a golf etc whereby u can get parts from places like german&swedish - so the choices are limited hence go to the main dealer. I also highly doubt its the slider pins amd more likely its the pistons sticking. Very poor response bloody hell I thought this was a forum that encouraged people to ask for help
  2. my tyres were brand new from lexus 4k and 8 months ago when i purchased the car....(53 plate)just popped out and can clearly see wear on front inner tyres...im due a 50k service do they swap the tyres around...?

  4. because he is most propably cacking himself over the cost and now I have seen his other post...and he has purchased one lol perhaps he can tell us the damage
  5. i got addicted to COD online on the PC many years ago.....then COD2....it was a fantastic release from reality (nothing like taking lifes stress out on some 13 year old kid from the other side of the world) i may be cured as COD4 doesnt do it for me...despite upgrading my PC to an uber machine
  6. try a GS...Lexus gave me one for a few weeks when the 200 went in...different planet...defo my next motor
  7. I really dont think a tracker is justifiable for an IS200..seriously...your 200 will only be nicked by the local chav scum for a spin around town..thats about it...and really would you want its back? (unlike the serious never to be seen again stuff that is going on with 30K plus motors) invest in a big yellow steering lock and lock your back door so cant they nick the keys..problem solved
  8. Last year I secured a free 50k and 60k service for my IS200 from a main dealer.......during the negotiations I went with this option (or money back) because I thought 60k included cam belt...I even said '60k includes cambelt doesnt it'? wry smile followed from dealer and sort of agreement that i thought was set in stone..needless to say written agreement states 60k service including parts and labour...i thought i was ok..60k cambelt change..seems reasonable doubts now creeping in :Ive had a look through the forum and there seems to be a difference of opinion..talk of 100K ..6 years etc anyone know the score..face off is May 2009 ;)
  9. Lexus dont do cheap services...they may quote you cheap for the 50k service but once they go through it and pick out everything that they think needs doing you will be looking at £££££££££ my 04 reg copped a £1300 service for its 3 year job.. for a £4.5K V reg I would go with the dealers stamp and oil change etc...have a quick butchers at the tyres, pads and discs and see if they will fix if needed you are not going to lose too much on any future sale value without a Lexus stamp at that age ...
  10. so im guessing that if it wasnt under warranty you would carry on with a cold arse :D in all seriousness..I cant help think that Lexus must be ragging the warranty system big time...mines been back numerous times for warranty work..they just crack on and do it and someone gets the mega bill :D They always love flashing the bill in front of you as if making out they have done you a favour...
  11. Yesterday my IS200 was in for an MOT and i popped into the Toyota garage next door........... mmmmm....I could swap the beast for a brand new shiny Yaris and yes for a moment..just a brief moment ....I thought about it...cheaper insurance, fuel and brownie points off the missus walked in shop..opened boot, realised the golf clubs wouldnt fit..closed boot and walked out mid life crisis over
  12. Leeds United WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS,CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE oh... and AFC Bournemouth
  13. Rikos the chances are that your dads PC is past its sell by date.....if you do the following (xp?) START ...RUN..and type in DXDIAG then press SAVE ALL INFORMATION and copy and paste onto here....I can see what your system is and tell you if you need a new graphics card or new system... Bobski....what is your current power supply?...if its less than 300w you may have issues...if youve gone from ATI to NVIDIA make sure you use drivercleaner pro to get rid of those old drivers...otherwise stick in new power supply.. ebuyer do a 500w power supply for £10 plus vat...easy to slot in http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136632
  14. glad you got it sorted and sorry to hijack your post I reversed my IS200 off the drive the other day. It had been sat there for a few days.. Power steering didnt engage and the steering then 'shook' for a few seconds before normaility returned..hasnt happened before still under warranty..could it be a problem with the pump?
  15. Thanks for your reply I will cut and paste that and hand it to them Its a knocking (rather than clunk) that appears after 10 mins of driving on the offside, usually when turning left and when going downhill..Ive got new front pads and discs..the noise sounds 'high up' When I got it back in Dec same noise but the car now feels so tight...it twitches when you hit a white line at speed...as if tyres are over inflated...they havent told me exactly what they have done as obviously think im a daft punter
  16. To cut a long story short I purchased an IS200 from a very well known and respected Lexus dealer last year. Things went pear shaped from the start however i was recompensed for some 'untruths'..over service history etc...and kept the car I was happy..once the clutch was sorted...however one thing I did stipulate was that the knocking noise from the front offside that I heard on my 'test drive ' was sorted....... To be honest the dealership have bent over backwards.....(i think) .the car has been back numerous times and from what I understand the car had new front ball joints, shocks, top mounts the whole suspension re-aligned etc etc yet yet still there is still a knocking noise.. im exhausted of trailing up and down the motorway and im sure the dealership are fed up of me BIG TIME. the last time (before xmas) they kept it for 10 days, gave me a new GS300 and ive still got a knocking noise for all their troubles The mechanics are at a loss, stating there are 60 such cases like this nationally ....I have 5 months warranty left on it Clearly they cannot fix the knocking noise and clearly If I wanted to sell the car..it wouldnt happen Anyone any idea what I can do?
  17. likewise..never even had a twitch... I drive about 8/10 different makes of vehicle a day and the IS200 handles better than the lot its a lump no doubt look at the positives...drive down a motorway at speed in heavy rain (straight line lol ) and the beast will stick to the motorway like glue...everything else i drive is aqua planing or skittish
  18. Nice colour :winky: It should come with a 12 month MOT but check it when you pick it up...if not they will do the next MOT for free supaguard is spot on..just needs an occasional hose down They should chuck in some free mats as well...3 years warranty sounds ok but make sure any niggles are sorted asap with the dealer your purchased it from..2 years down the line you may find yourself paying for labour if a suspected warranty issue isnt proven hows the clutch? if any stutter/slip maybe clutch/flywheel..get them to change it otherwise enjoy
  19. quick update Lexus replaced the clutch and flywheel in July of this year and the car has been transformed...absolutely sorted and nil judder
  20. the strange thing is that I hammered it up to Gatwick and back big time on the motorway last month 80-90 plus (no tickets yet :winky: and got approaching 400 to the tank clearly the beast is happy mooching at 80 + in 6th, at speeds that would rattle most engines to the bones sadly this doesnt reflect everyday driving
  21. i took an IS300 for a test drive long before I ever sat in a 200..it was nice;..no doubt As a result i ignored the IS 200 for months (thinking it was a lesser car) until I actually took an IS200 for a test drive .. :winky: was i suprised...yes, big time, not in million years could i warrant 3 grand more for a similar spec car ,the only diff being 3 litre and auto
  22. my mpg is reducing as my ownership time of the IS200 increases I got 400 to a tank in the early days 350 now reason is that im not worrying about mpg now , just enjoying the driving experience
  23. 'the actual salesman who sold me the car has parted company with Adsheads, and more recently the Manager moved on too, so i've been passed from pillar to post to trainee to everybody, and the day I collected the service book, I was informed the previous owner was serving time at hger majesty's pleasure.' clearly the service book has been forged ? are Adsheads a so called reputable dealer up your way? How far do you want to take it
