  1. At least they are willing to sort. I'm actually quite surprised - I thought they would argue this. Bonus that they are looking at the other things FOC too
  2. Have a chat with Tony Banks in Leeds...he did my cat-back system and is always working on Lexus cars...
  3. I didn't even do this - but I did get some scratches on the hands :) Just had to 'feel my way' a little - a good inspection lamp helps. Wouldn't recommend a phone torch like I used as you could end up dropping it in the engine bay area. And that by the way is a REAL PITA to retrieve ;)
  4. Convincing advert but doesn't the seller sound a little 'odd'?? Plus, not giving out the reg?? Could all be very innocent but not winning me over. Hmmmm.
  5. I use a combination of: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cleaning-Bristles-Dashboard-Interior-Exterior/dp/B072M2BNVC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524832308&sr=8-2&keywords=detailing+brush and https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vikan-Reach-Valet-Detailing-Crevice/dp/B015G0EOZU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1524832308&sr=8-5&keywords=detailing+brush For such tasks. Work a treat :)
  6. The intermittent bulb...common thing. You will likely need new bulbs. See what the garage charge...but you can fairly easily do it yourself for just the cost of the bulbs (which themselves can be bought for a VASTLY reduced amount compared to Lexus folk).
  7. Rather high isn't it. I was thinking the same. Do you think it's the whole 'PCP' thing that they are pushing here so it becomes about the 'monthlies'??
  8. Well, finally got round to getting the advert up. Had to clean the cob webs usually found in the 'For Sale' section but the car is now there if any of you lovely folk are interested Really hope it goes to a LOC member as don't want the grief that comes with Autotrader, etc...
  9. By far the largest issue I had when looking for my GS was the condition of cars. Too many had been abused and not looked after. My view is that fewer and fewer 'good' cars are now coming onto the market - regardless of manufacturer especially if they are petrol and automatic.
  10. Sorry to hear this Rob. If you aren't in a rush and really want a 450 you may have to sit tight and keep an eye out for the right one. I personally hate doing this as once I want to change I really want to change! ...but with the sensible cap on it usually is the best thing to do even though a compromise in other areas (e.g. spec/colour/etc.) may still be required.
  11. LOL - I didn't think you wrong either John :) Apologies if I came across that way. These warranty questions are always a little tricky!
  12. It's what I was told when I took my Lexus Extended Warranty out (from both the dealer and Lexus warranty folk). Mine hits 10years in Jan 2019...but as long as I take out an extension to the current extended warranty before then I can keep going for ANOTHER two years AFTER this current one finishes in June 2019. Result :) This is actually one of the main points for me to keep the car rather than my current want of selling it. Decisions. Decisions...
  13. My understanding is whatever occurs first at the time of taking out the warranty - so in this case you are JUST outside the conditions :(
  14. Welcome Joe! i'm sure I saw your post on the PH Smokers thread too. Love the car!
  15. The 2010 is the last of the line (facelift) too so spec will be slightly different. Negotiation may well be worth trying. As for servicing...my understanding is that they still need to be serviced each year if not reaching the mileage limit.
  16. @XT5 - I'm with you here. Low miles doesn't mean stuff doesn't need changing and running. Hopefully the owner would have understood this but would still be worth checking items such as age of tyres, corrosion (things like the exhaust may not be getting up to temp), brake fluid changes, etc.
  17. £11k. Blimey. I didn't realise they were going for such strong money (even taking the super low miles into account). Looks like a cracking car though.
  18. Interestingly I'm looking for a IS300 (Sportcross) to replace my GS300!! I didn't realise that IS300's had such poor economy. I thought 'same engine, must be lighter car so MPG increase'. Wow.
