  1. I could specify the sound level...so went with 'whisper quiet' to maintain the waft nature of the car
  2. This is what always freaks me out. I had one ruin my wheel when I had the Cayenne. Had to go to great lengths with the folk at the shop to get it sorted (it was a diamond cut rim). They blamed the size (21") but my view was that they accepted the job knowing the size - doh! And this was at an outfit that is all over the country...
  3. I'm presuming you would get some warning message on the dash if these were fitted? Knowing our luck that could mean a MOT fail :( Really wish stuff like this and TPMS could be coded out...
  4. This. Nope. Never done it. Honest guv Car looks fab by the way! Can't believe your zorsts look THAT shiny!
  5. After a TOTAL mare of a journey last night travelling from the Manchester back to Leicester (M6 > Stoke > A50 > M1) I *really* need to get my tyres changed. Took it steady unlike the MANY fools that drove past me and then seconds later ended up the embankment or in the central railings. Thankfully made it back in one piece... I've ran winter tyres on the cars for years but out of laziness on my part didn't get round to sorting them on the GS (OK partly because I keep on thinking of selling it!)...Don't fancy going down the route of swapping them over each season so thought I would look into All Seasons. Thinking the Vredsteins. Anyone have experience of these or any other All Seasons?? Worth it?? Or should I really sort out my advert for selling the car
  6. Blimey. It looked in a right state. The want for the 460 must be HUGE!
  7. Another vote for Tony Banks in Leeds. Give the chap a call - he seems to know everything that needs to be known about exhausts and then some
  8. Exhausts wise I would say try Tony Banks in Leeds. They did my cat-back system in the GS for around £600. Top work and all done in a few hours.
  9. Amazing car Phil @The-Acre! Many, many congratulations! Sorry for missing your other post when you were looking for me - have been away on hols and with work :( Looks like you have a fab car. Loving the colour combo too! Happy motoring & all the best on the road trip! Now back to trying to sell mine...
  10. It's such a complex car though. Main dealer only would be the way I would go...
  11. @The-Acre Phil - Drop me a PM if you are interested...as always looking to change mine :)
  12. Don't forget that during the MK3 lifetime there were a number of small revisions too
  13. For me I found these brilliant: VW Umpimp The Auto Plus the Trunk Monkey ones here :)
  14. Also look out for: 1. Leaking exhausts: The whole system seems to corrode quite rapidly especially the back boxes. OE ones are just as bad and fail with remarkable speed despite costing a rather silly amount. I went with a stainless steel replacement courtesy of TonyBanks up in Leeds like a few other folk on here have. Talking around £500ish for a cat-back system. 2. Uneven tyre wear: Get this checked ASAP. Again, didn't bother with the main dealer as they would set it up like factory. This I found causes the insides to wear very rapidly. Went onto 'blackboots' and found a recommended place fairly local to me that sorted this. £50-70 well spent IMO. 3. Nav differences: The newer higher-res screens were offered *I think* after 2006. 4. Reverse parking guide-lines: These randomly appeared/disappeared/appeared again depending on model year. I really wanted these so look out for them if you find they are important to you. 5. Corrosion: I saw lots that had rust on the leading edge of the bonnet. It's a fab car...but it has left me a little 'cold' (a post of mine here). I'm still finding myself constantly looking for a change despite it continuing to prove totally brilliant! Still has a service plan with Lexus and I took out the extended Lexus warranty too. Yet on the look out :(
  15. Thankfully the windscreen defrosted quite nicely for me after about 10mins of left standing but I found my washer nozzles frozen this morning (the mixture seems to be fine). Grrrrr.
  16. For the seatbelts I used a steam cleaner alternating with some scrubbing and some G101. Will try your Aldi carpet cleaner though as i've not had much luck so far on my cream carpets.
  17. Ask your Lexus Dealer about Smart Repairs. It's usually subcontracted out but at least via Lexus they would be responsible for the finish and you could get brucey bonuses such as a courtesy car
  18. Hi James, Could be suffering what myself and other folk have also encountered. Check out the following recent post:
  19. Nice one Steve. Would do the all-seasons too but had to get two tyres on it about 10k ago and at the time they didn't have stock :(
  20. Have been running winter wheels on my cars for past few years now and it's now approaching the first winter with the GS. So...anyone have any experience? Any recommends on where to pick up a set of wheels from? I keep scouring the 'bay but prices seem a little optimistic. I don't mind going down a size (to 17's) if it helps... Cheers.
  21. I've suffered from this on the GS a few times but only in a specific place here in Leicester. Used to happen on my Cayenne and Accord I had previously too (that wasn't keyless but it stopped the unlock/lock button on the fob from working). Anyway, did the manual key thing to get into the car and then held the remote right up against the start/stop button. After a couple of attempts it recognised it. Don't quite understand what kind of interference could be being generated in this particular location :(
  22. Sensor of some sort? Perhaps the rain one?
  23. Love the new motor! The side protection strips...are they from Lexus or aftermarket? Never seen them before. I wish her 3RX had some as the sides are just an expanse of easily damaged metal :(
