  1. What a cracking write up! Glad you managed to take it apart and fix it back. Hats off to you :) Here's hoping all stays dry...
  2. Need this. So badly.Would have to move to the US though to avoid adding a front number plate and spoiling the looks
  3. Her RX is the first white car we've had I noticed lots of pink/brown spots particularly on the lower valence/sides/tailgate quite soon after buying. I think it's tar/iron deposits. So a quick blast with something like Autosmart Tardis and Iron-X worked wonders. Perhaps worth a try in case it's not paint?? As for the air leak...our chrome dust caps are welded on. Guess it's the steel reacting with the stem. I didn't want to try to twist too much but wouldn't be surprised if a leak develops if I were to continue to try and remove them. Hope the dealer manages to sort.
  4. Like it! Also love the Cerulean blue - my old RX300 was Tungsten Mist so very similar
  5. The sensor setting in her F Sport is in one of the vehicle menus. I had to adjust this as I found I had to get awfully close before they were beeping!
  6. Anyone else watched this yet? Was quite surprised JC gave it the thumbs up as I thought they didn't 'like' Lexus... Loved the sound it makes when the loud pedal is pressed
  7. Fair enough. For me I like the L badge but was never a fan of the 'Lexus' and model number badging. Found a little cluttered. Must just be me then :)
  8. I always like the debadged look - worth doing while it's getting paint/polished? Thoughts?
  9. Congratulations! The colour combo is fantastic. Really loving the wooden steering wheel too. I'm being tempted with the previous 430 so to see one of these is amazing! I wonder how much a dash swap cost. Must have been HUGE money! Keep us posted on the project...
  10. Loving the wheels Paul! Hollow spokes? The Blue/yellow contrast looks fab!
  11. Ahh you can't beat good ole meetings and paper work to get things (not) done It is strange how folks like the VW group have it but don't implement on all models. E.g. My Cayenne has it but I don't believe the Q7 has. Going back to the new RX450...what's the tank size/fuel range you folk are getting these days?
  12. Forgot to include the pics: https://www.facebook.com/pg/BrakeCaliperSpecialists/photos/?tab=album&album_id=834824009869859
  13. I've used this place before in Nottingham. Did a great job (I went for the high end option as at that time wasn't too much of a cost difference and ended up with a much better finish). They are fairly local so took my car to them rather than using the mail order thing they do... http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/
  14. Spot on Paul about the lag. Totally crazy...but I guess the US could be their largest market so want to keep those folk happy. As for the lights...will get some pics and show you folk. I guess it could be that they are blow (school boy error not to think that!). Tried using trim tools to remove the panels so will give it another go today...
  15. I've been told this ran out around 2010 so more and more vehicles are now coming with it. Such a great feature. Shame Lexus hasn't introduced it.
  16. Oh the lag after pressing the loud pedal! That's one of my gripes too. She doesn't find it an issue but for me it's very annoying. Guess I'm a little spoilt driving the Cayenne with instant shove Another gripe of mine is how rubbish the interior lighting is. Shocking. It hardly lights the interior. My old RX300 suffered too but not to the extent of the 450. Quickly resolved that by replacing the interiors bulbs with super bright LEDs. I reckon they could see it on the moon after that upgrade! Anyone know how to remove the interior light panels on the 450 as keen to do the same? The light panels seem a little too tight and scared I may break clips if I try any harder...
  17. Ahh nuts. The good ole search started to work again for me and I saw this! Will take a look but if anyone has any more views please do share!
  18. What a fantastic looking car Paul! Especially loving the silver colour. Really, really wanted one in the same finish. The Mrs ended up with a white one as just can't find many in anything other than white or black. Anyway, your new car looks brilliant! Side question - the roof rails. Did you put these one yourself? Difficult? Being tempted to get some for hers - not to ever use them, purely for aesthetics as they seem to suit the car. In my crazy eyes anyway
  19. So really want to scratch the itch that is to own a LS. Something that has been bugging me ever since I was a lad and saw the LS400 for the first time However, didn't want to spend more than 5k. Essentially trying reduce my exposure in case the dream turns into a nightmare! So...anyone have a buying guide/tips for the LS430 please? Just to clarify, the main reason I'm looking at the 430 (and not the 400) is because I need ISOFIX points for the kiddies seats...still need to keep things a little practical :) Cheers guys. Any help is much appreciated.
  20. Ahh ok. In that case they should physically be the same size but I think the '400 ones are LED based so you could find that the car needs coding or needs other things to allow them to work. Perhaps try LED lamps instead of the existing filament bulbs?
  21. Is this to support the reverse camera? If so, I believe there is a way you can remove the light shields on the reverse lights so that the brightness increases. When I had mine I fitted super bright number plate LED's and that made quite a difference.
  22. Congratulations on the new car Paul! I too bought her RX Sport from Cheltenham - chap called Ben Godsland. Transaction went quite smoothly although some comms and after sales stuff could have been much better. As for the dealership...did you not think the parking there is a little crazy with not enough space ;) As for GAP...check out ALA. There's a discount code you can get from the PistonHeads forums so makes things very good value when compared with the main dealer folk. Don't forget the extended warranty option too. I thought it was worth getting the 2-for-1 deal on it at the time of sale. Glad you are enjoying the car. The Mrs loves hers :)
  23. This. I too found it quite silly. You can't stand up suitcases very easily so limiting usable space. Such a shame.
  24. That looks stunning mate! A good detail works wonders Have you thought about taking off the 'Lexus' and 'ISF' badges? The car has such a sharp look I think it could work well. Have you done anything to the interior?
