  1. Hope all goes well with the pickup Chris. @Jules640 What's the badging in front of the rear wheel?
  2. Special edition already: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/lexus/lc/101282/new-lexus-lc-structural-blue-edition-arrives-with-the-perfect-blue-paint-job Loving the multi-tone interior. Will go back to the dreaming :)
  3. Used BCS a few years back on the Cayenne. Refurbed the brakes and finished things superbly. Top blokes :)
  4. Added advantage is that it's likely to come back cleaned inside and out
  5. Would also be worth finding out how much your dealer charges...
  6. Can only tell you about the Infinity experience...had a EX37 for a while. Car was pretty good although space was a little limited. What let the side down completely was the dealer attitude. Shocking. Plus very pricey for just about everything. So ownership experience was rather a let down. Thankfully someone was picking up the tab so wasn't too painful. Would actually go back if I could get one on the ultra-cheap as depreciation is staggering :)
  7. Welcome Ed! Congrats on the NX. Get some pics up once you get it! I'm on HondaKarma too (as had a Accord till recently) :) Some very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable folk on there too (e.g. Ichiban). Weirdly I'm being tempted to go back to Honda...
  8. Thanks John. I've been quoted £545 all in for a cat-back system on mine (the Y section is leaking and back boxes have rotted through). Lex want around the £900 mark so quite a difference already.
  9. Hi John, Good job you mentioned MIJ - I was trying to remember the place in Walsall as I (potentially) need to get mine sorted on the GS! Have you used them in the past? I just called them and spoke to a very helpful chap called Jay so now it could just be a case of deciding :)
  10. So I've had the GS since May. A Messa Red GS300 SE-L (facelift) with the wood pack. Bought it with massive anticipation and was genuinely looking forward to many years of ownership. As with all of my cars I started the process of a maintenance schedule repairing/replacing things that I always like to sort on cars in my ownership. Even splashed out on a Lex Warranty and Service Plan to give me that added peace of mind. It continues to perform duties impeccably with the only fly in the ointment being the requirement to change the exhaust in the next few months (had already talked to Tony Banks in Leeds in readiness). But to no avail. I'm just not feeling any love for it. I think it's got to go. Total madness you may think but it's really bothering me but I just can't put my finger on WHY. Never been this way before on any of the cars i've bought. I LOVE the Lexus brand/dealers/etc. and yet with this one something for me is missing. Anyone else been in a similar position?? So the hunt for a new car has started and the rather annoying process of selling a car privately also enters the scene.
  11. Currently running Avon ZZ5. So far so good - especially in the wet. Haven't had them long enough to tell you about their longevity though. One thing to make sure is that the geometry and suspension components are all ok as I've been told that makes quite a bit of difference.
  12. 327k?! Blimey. To me the car could be like Triggers broom ;) (link here if you want a chuckle)
  13. Thanks guys. Good ole duck tape to the rescue. The low-fi solution is indeed the best - totally wrecking the paintwork that I only just corrected but needs must :) I also tracked the fuse down too - so will give this a go in the morning.
  14. Bad news for the GS. Someone ran into the GS while the Mrs was driving on the M1. THANKFULLY her and both kids (along with the other folk) walked away unhurt. PHEW! Car wise....nice crease/damage on the bumper plus boot lid. Now the darn boot keeps popping back up due to the auto mechanism. Is there any way to disable it so that it remains shut till I get it over to the repair folk?? Please help guys as don't want to be leaving the car with the boot open!
  15. I just ran an extra long extension cable from the armrest cubby box under the trim all the way to the boot. I made sure the cable was decent width/quality to tuck around corners, etc.Use it to power a portable cooler on trips and all seems to work a treat.
  16. Like it. Is your new car an Advance? The colour is fab! As for tyres - I recently went with the Goodyear Wrangler All Seasons...but the Avons were also recommended here. I too nearly bought a S4 a few years back. it was those rather annoying Super Sport seats that most seem to have that put me off. Anyway, hope you enjoy the RX. The Mrs runs a FSport and I use it every now and again. Although not entirely my cup of tea she loves it :)
  17. A friend wanted some for his 3RX but couldn't find ones which were actually waterproof despite the promises made. In the end he went with some Range Rover ones. So could be an idea to switch manufacturer. You may loose out on a snug fit but at least they would definitely work! Ta, Noman
  18. Welcome to the fold! I've had my facelift SE-L for a few months now. Apart from the items already mentioned I also found the following worth checking on the ones I looked at: - Paint work: The front bonnet especially. Paint bubbles a plenty. - Brake discs/pads: Possibly connected to the sticky calipers. So budget for a new set all round. - Tyres: Geometry setup and/or suspension issues (e.g. bushes) mean that uneven tyre wear was rife - almost all of the cars I went to see had scrubbed the inner tread so was difficult to spot unless you got well under the car. - Remote batteries: Odd thing really but worth swapping out ASAP as I found random lock/unlock/"key not detected" issues. My exhaust is also blowing but MOT isn't till next year so have a little time to save up. Till then the car is a little raspy ;) Next thing on my list are the brakes but Euro Car Parts seem to have offers on so thankfully not too expensive a swap out around next service time. Talking of which...I actually took out a service plan and extended warranty with my local dealer (Lexus Derby). Given me a little peace of mind but I guess it does come at a cost...
  19. Don't have any experience with them but the orange resistors look almost identical to the ones that I had in an aftermarket HID kit. They were sh*te. Solder joints went every few months and then intermittent errors shortly after. Only solution was to keep swapping them out. So watch out! Like the idea of such bulbs though
  20. As far as I can tell you can enter in new destinations on the move. Phone numbers are still restricted to speed dial entries only. Further bad news is that the iphone doesn't seem to be supported for phone book transfer. So you would need to transfer to android and transfer that way or enter in manually. I find myself on really ever calling a few numbers so added them in manually.
  21. Suggest you check out blowing exhausts too. Every single one I went to see was suffering from this (even main dealer examples). The largest issue for me though was finding one which had been taken care of. Unfortunately they are getting on a bit now so maintenance invariably starts to suffer.
  22. Like it. Especially the silver colour
  23. So her RX sport needs a set of fronts (235/55/19). The Avon ZX7 and the Goodyear Wrangler HP All Seasons caught my eye. Anyone have experience of these? Any preference? She does about 10k a year mainly around town but didn't want to end up being stuck in 1cm of snow IF the winter weather ever came ;) Cheers, Noman
