  1. Strange this one as the site lists the mileage down to the last mile - 99,133 .....with all the other details being wrong its as if they've got a completely different car. When did you go by the way - notice delaer hasnt changed the details yet..... right move - walk away...plenty of others.
  2. Do you ever ask them what it is about the Lexus that makes it an "old mans car" in their opinion?
  3. Couldnt help it either.. Q: I currently have a TurboMagnetix Fuel saver and Vortex Power Max installed on my Subaru Justy. As its 4wd do I need 4 powerbands ? Also I'm concerned that all the extra power and mpg I'm already getting because of the vortex induction and magnetised fuel could be affected by the Powerband - Can you confirm that the performance of these will not be impacted? I dont want this device to warrant the other mods I bought useless (ie a waste of my money). A: None of those mods are a waste of money! the power band is designed to work along side those modifications, however to get the best from it i suggest a resister chip and an exhaust clip in which has blue led's in it, nothing will match the power of the justy with these mods.
  4. Hi Shuja, Point 2) Go to http://www.pro-align.co.uk/amc/centrelocator.htm to see locations that have a Hunter 9700 machine - not an exhaustive list and I'd call the place before you go to double check. Also take a look at http://www.hunter.com/pub/product/balancer/4159T/index.htm for details on the hunter machine and why its the dogs.... Point 3) See the post here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=51222 - ie tighten up 1st, 3rd, 5th, 2nd, 4th in that order - otherwise you can create probs. Point 6) GS original wheels have an offset of 50mm - Most aftermarket ones are ~35mm mark - Changing from 50mm to 35mm ultimately widens the track of your car by 15mm each side (30 mm total) - Its like putting 15mm spacers on. - If you need info on offset google wheel offset - basic info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_(wheel) You having probs?
  5. From what I have noticed though - these newer "low noise" road surfaces seem to suffer more from holding water - and always seem a little too slippery in the wet. Pure observation on my part with no technical proof - could be totally unrelated to the surface (camber of new surface?) but no matter where they use these low noise surfaces - water issues seem to appear.....I'm thinking M6 Toll, the M6 around Junc 12/13 (just recently resurfaced using the low noise stuff)
  6. Nice looking motor mate - Had some fun yet ? ML sound system was an optional extra I believe....
  7. I previously had an IPhone (first one - not 3G) and succesfully unlocked it and Jailbroke it - which allowed me to load free 3rd party applications on it - as well as customise more or less anything on the phone - including skinning the display (making it look entirely different) and even being able to change all the text that displays for any message - even the provider (instead of o2 mine said something else - plus you could change what it said when there was no signal) The software I used was from ziphone (www.ziphone.org) - took about 10 minutes to do and for anyone with an iPhone 1 I cant recommend it enough - and its FREE!!! Does not damage your phone - and the phone continues to work wirelessly and on any network. The guy that invented the ziphone software is currently developing a version for the iPhone 3G (which I now have too) - and as soon as its released I'll be using it. There is a couple of developers who have released a piece of software (the devteam) that apparently unlocks the iPhone 3G - and it appears to work - but I'm waiting for the ziphone version - This guy helped apple with development of some of the features so knows what he's talking about. Also - The iPhone is ultimately a mini computer - and you can back the whole thing up (advisable before you do anything with it - just incase) - so any problems - you just connect to iTunes and restore it back to its original form. Just like you could do with a normal computer hard drive. o2 cannot legally send any data to your phone that will stop it working (unless its reported stolen) - and if you did unlock - the whole purpose would be to use on another operator - they certainly wouldnt want to lose your business.....
  8. Don't worry I'll let you know if I get any further miles on a full tank than I've been having. What people are missing that they say they are rubbish without trying the product first. I have done my research in checking the replies left from other ebay users. The two main sellers I've checked are 98% positive from buyers. They have 12,000 and 4,000 feedbacks on them. That many people can't all be wrong, So after reading the replies I decided to try. Classic example is the products that say they increase boost(Nitrox Hot Shot,10K Boost Petrol De-Coke to name two). All the forums and mags(max power & revs mainly) where raving about it. Came to light is that they reduce power and don't work at all. They sell around the ten pound mark aswell. If you want to check the results out then Fifth Gear have the article somewhere on a previous programme. Might be on you tube somewhere. Basic physics prooves these will not work plus I would not be too happy in putting anything so poorly made AFTER my air filter
  9. Few things that could be prob; 1) wheels are buckled or have run out 2) most garages seem incapable of balancing wheels correctly- ask any place to take off the balancer and then put back and wheel will show as not balanced-find somewhere that does road force balance with a hunter 9700 machine- can also correct for wheels with run out. 3) torque on nuts and tightened correct order- 13524. Torque settings on GS are lower than most cars- you wouldn't believe what difference this can make on gs. Trust me I've tried 4) ball joints- GS is heavy car and prone to getting through them 5) tracking does not equal geometry - see wheels in motion site for explanation- I fully recommend going to wim to correctly set up. 6) assume they are standard Lexus wheels and not aftermarket- gs oem wheels have offset of 50mm - anything other than that can cause probs Let us know how you get on and good luck.
  10. :o :o :o one born every single minute :o :o :o What I like about these replies is that it's from people who haven't tried it or got one or even a LS400 at that. Look at it this way. I use £15 a day fuel and if the item only saves me 2 pence extra a day it won't be long that it has paied for itsself for such a small outlay. And as for one born evey minute, As being in the trade/sales/garage/reapirs I have to try products to advise future customers if they work or not on my own findings and for other owner club websites. Being in the trade I would expect you to know better...the question was asked and members simply gave their response in order to stop the op from wasting their hard earned cash These things are a con full stop and if it were that easy I wonder why the likes of toyota spend millions of pounds each year in r&d if all they had to do was add a 10 dollar piece of equipment
  11. if the steering is off centre then they didn't do it right... Get yourself down to wim (wheels in motion) and let tony do a proper job...
  12. give the money to charity instead- that way at least some good will come of it
  13. Welcome to LOC.... Installing new alarm wont help - if you lose the key you still wont be able to get around the immobiliser - its part of the ECU - thats why you'd need the master key in the first place I'd keep very good care of that key if I were you
  14. Luck of draw - If Thermostat breaks when valve open - Rad on all time (including when you dont need it on first few minutes whilst engine warms up) but if messes up when closed then can remain closed - hence no flow of water through the rad....
  15. Not sure I'd have been too happy if it was the filling station near my house though..... :shutit: I'd have used the £40 of free fuel up whilst waiting in the queue :winky:
  16. Thermostat packed up (had actually completely dropped to pieces) in a Mondeo I had - and left the valve closed for the water flow - 5 minutes and engine overheating despite everything looking ok.....also blew the headgasket.....
  17. Just bought some myself - £6.99 - free postage http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=310061607287 - ordered about an hour ago and already have despatch notice from seller Havent got a smell from the aircon but cant harm it to give it a good clearout Only problem with my version - doesnt state it kills smoking dogs - but I'll live with that :winky:
