  1. A mate of mine had this recently and he had a Virus/Spyware that had manually set a bad dns server. If you goto Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections (make sure you are in Classic view in control panel. Can be switched between catagory and classic top left of control panel.) Right click on your Local Area Connection or Wireless Connection depending on what you use and goto properties. Find "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" highlight it and go to properties. Make sure everything is set to automatic. Hope this solves it. If not you can set your DNS manually (use instructions above again but change the DNS field to manual) to 208.67.222.222 primary and 208.67.220.220 secondary and this should fix it.
  2. WIM quoted me 3 hours to do it - so i'd bank on about £500 for parts and fitting. Mines going to need replacing soon i think.
  3. if its near service time for the car it may be worth just sticking it in straight away and the service will pick up any issues if your not mechanically minded.
  4. Why wouldn't you use the centre section? Thats the whole point of cat back. It will make the exhaust quieter and release less power (which is minimal in the first place) if you keep the OEM centre. Might not even fit. Yes the blueflame is good IMO, the HKS is as quiet as the OEM exhaust.
  5. IIRC this clicking noise is the electronic throttle control, which will be the bit you can see moving on its own, keeping the idle smooth by regulating the throttle. So is completely normal.
  6. i concur - btw Steve why haven't my rings turned up yet? :P
  7. i got mine from the link Stevie put in, but then i think stevie got the link from me :P
  8. I've found with the ARBs and lowering springs i have to be driving like a real nob for the traction control to cut the engine. The car will slip quite noticably before the traction control kicks in, but i can't make the car do a 180 with it on. Most of the time it happens is in a straight line if my foot slips off the clutch pedal by mistake.
  9. if you are just going to compensate for the difference with Snow mode on then there's no point using it.........just be careful.
  10. Yeah i stumbled across them a while back - i think Chris S used to work there and they do seem slightly cheaper than the main dealer. But mine is Lexus Park Lane!
  11. Yes - only turn the TRC off if the engine is cutting out and impeding your progress
  12. It's about £120 unpainted but with fitting kit from TG Holdcroft. Do a google search.
  13. Yep the boys at TGT did a great job and fitted some bored out oem bushes so it passed the MOT. The garage that fitted the arbs originally are going to get it back to how it should be once the uprated C-One bushes are sourced. So i'm happy :)
  14. Those sound the same as mine and i do most around town too on my manual. Got about 29MPG on a long run down to devon at christmas. But i have a heavy right foot.
  15. As i know you guys love photos: lol i'll get a proper one put up once the snow has cleared. Thanks to the guys at Toyota Gt. Working from home it seems like London is a complete mess today. Ed
  16. Yep lexus park lane quoted me just over £1k for 60k service and cam belt change. Got it done elsewhere for £500.
  17. Yeah im gonna give him a call later on once i find out exactly whats wrong.
  18. Hi Guys, My car was in for it's MOT yesterday. It would have passed with flying colours except one of the bushes on my newly upgraded C-One ARBs has fallen off due to snapped or missing bolts! Apparently it is pretty dangerous and i'm in one of those "OMG i've been driving it like that for who knows how long...." states. The MOT guy will not allow the car to be driven Now i need to fix/repair the problem. James from Toyota GT is going to have a look at it this afternoon and let me know how bad it is. The question is can you use the OEM bushes on the C-One arbs? I'm assuming not as the bars are larger and if thats the case does anyone know how easy it will be to source a replacement(s)? cheers, (a very stressed) Ed
  19. Toyota GT are charging me £250-300 for painting and fitting front and rear skirts but not sides. I imagine with sides it would be about £500. However the kit itself is about £500 so can't be too bad a deal your getting.
  20. When i had the focus it had a resonator that you could take off to "improve" the induction noise. I expect it is similar, i would tape the hole up though to keep just cold air coming in.
  21. We just need to remember that the higher spec machine that you buy now means that you will be able to wait longer before you have to replace it. Also the warranty is quite important as Gwilso is obviously not a full on techy. I've just had a look at the dell website and you can get something like this: http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/c...12212&s=bsd Dual core 2.66 4Gb Ram 320Gb Hard disk Dedicated Graphics 20" Screen It is a business machine - as i find the Dell business support hugely superior to their home support and comes with a 3 yr onsite next business day warranty. For just over £500 inc vat with a screen is pretty good.
  22. Try Ebay for mintex brake kits. Discs and pads should come in under £100. I'm running them all round on mine.
  23. JVC front does come off though, not that I ever do. And you have the option of screwing it in place too. Try taking a dvd along and testing both as then you will really be able to tell the screen quality. I'm not sure the Kenwood will be able to use the IPOD touch either as both HUs were made before it got made. From what i have read it is an Apple problem they need to sort though.
