  1. Just do it, preventative work far outways the cost of all those tyres you will replace early.
  2. I paid £100 for the rear corner of our Porsche's bumper to be sprayed, they endud up doing halt the bumper and you can't tell it has ever been sprayed. Contact a smart reparer they are far cheaper then a body shop.
  3. i think the tdi one and the prolex ones are both 600 but if it can be done for less then that is worth looking at
  4. LOL Wouldn’t that be great!! No I think an Arab shake with loads of money will buy the team as a play thing, much like the Russians buying football teams. With the amount of races in that part of the world it would make sense to have a "home" team. The gold plating on the cars may slow them down a bit though :winky:
  5. He does rate the Subaru legacy though. Yet on that last race the econony one he slated James May for choosing the legacy????????? Double standards.
  6. After having a quick chat withSteve at Prolex the other day I will be saving HARD for this conversion for the following reason: By the time you have spent 2K on a second hand TTE kit (if you can find one), £500 fitting (yes I know you can DIY but I am lazy), de-cat the manifold £600 you are up to £3 and a bit grand, so the extra couple of hundred is well worth it considering everything will be new and set up with e-manage negating the need to get a uni-chip or camcon to fine tune the car further. Steve you will almost definatley get my car early next year just depends on how business is in the new year (Feb/Mar). Can't wait to see the Dyno charts :winky:
  7. AMG.... poor lexus at least it is not owned by anyone on this site!! But the Audi :tsktsk: Where’s my gun it would be the kindest thing just to put the owner down, before he puts tiger strips on it to "finish the effect".
  8. The problem with that unit is all the corners cut to get the price to that level. The sound quality won't be a patch on the IS200 standard unit. Quite a few threads along this line already, worth reading a few!!
  9. As a business owner (tattooing/piercing and various on-line things) I am all to well aware about covering your arse, we see our fair amount of "interesting" people!! My 2p worth is any one who has seen the WIM premises will know it is spot on for a garage in terms of tidiness and cleanliness’ my 1st impression was "OK I am in good hands here, now how much is a coffee, even better its free!!", the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and don't tell you your car needs things it dosent. Tony has gone further than any other garage would have done and that only makes me want to visit again when my tyres need replacing and the geo checked again.
  10. I bought my Lex on the credit card, it is cheaper than the loan offered by the bank, so long as I pay it off in 12 months which won't be an issue. 0% finance rules!!!!
  11. be great if we could have 2 british drivers in a (mostly) british team, I think Jenson has made bad career moves but given the right team will win races, he is still young so heres hoping kovi wants to move away from Mclaren!!
  12. So Honda has pulled out of F1 lets hope Jenson can get a drive next year (in a car that does him justice) Will this surprise news mean the dreaded single manufacturer engine is getting a step closer????
  13. So am I, I joined properly yesterday!! But there is no gold on my profile yet.
  14. havent seen snow for a couple of years in Milton Keynes
  15. An article in one of the French tuners mag a few months ago did a side by side comparison on induction kits, they tested about 8 kits, with dyno results and the only kit to make a blind bit of difference on a Clio was the K&N replacement filter and something called a "Vortex induction kit". Both gave 2-4hp gain over the standard air filter, the rest gave no gain or a loss (I think one lost 6HP!!!). I think the Clio was pushing 160BHP at the time, so similar to the IS200. But you can't tar all induction kits with the same brush, I am sure it would make a larger difference with forced induction.
  16. Change up at 3000 to 3500rpm, that does save a whole heap of fuel, but boredom sets in after the 1st mile.
  17. In the Porsche owners book they rate their speedos at Max 5% Under and never more than 1% Over stated speed. I don't know if every manufacturer is the same though??
  18. OK that is clear now, I think an upgrade is needed anyway, again it is fully how many hush hush things are out there.......
  19. I will wait for a PS4 or XBOX720 :yack: Both these machines have been out far to long without a replacement announced. The only reason I didn't get either was the format war, now it is bluray all the way, unless Microsoft decide to be stupid and release their own version.
  20. One thing I will say is don't buy a OEM version of vista. Sorry do you mean a machine with Vista (I love it BTW) pre installed should have an upgrade to a "bought" version??
  21. In areas of Europe where they are more used to snowfalls it is a legal requirement to be prepared for such occurrences, particularly in alpine regions. So if you plan to visit France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy or any of the Scandinavian countries you should be aware that there are certain areas where snowchains or other traction aids must be carried and without which you may be refused entry.
