  1. well i just had the most **** time ever! i left my house to travel to bromley, and decided to turn back after 10 mins. i had traveled 1.5 miles! after 1hr and only traveling 2.5 miles i decided to take a short cut (big mistake) it was one road, a up hill right hander. about 30 degrees. i was going about 5mph and as soon as i turned the wheels just gave up grip, i was turning smooth and slow (compacted snow). i was just spinning and spinning. just couldnt make it up this ****** hill. then after about 30 seconds it started sliding sideways.and the car was left against the kurb! not good. lucky there was a realy nice family in the road who came to help, got me sand, dirt and a few mats to place under wheels, after much tooing and frooing the car was on its way not thanks to the snow button! and yes there is no paint on the rear left rim where it was against the kurb, so they are gonna go off for repainting come non snow times! All i can say is the rest of the journy home was a nightmare, the roads were convex and spent the whole jorney home with the back end a few inches closer to the curb than the fron with some health oposite lock! Strange thing is i have been through worse snow on motorbikes and never had one accident in 3 years of winters! it was easier to control a tuned 650 vtwin than the car!
  2. lol, just a short jdm one for me then, i have bad luck when i start removing stuff like that! lol. so to beat it i try to avoid it! still it does look realy good tho!
  3. dude you got me drooling all over my keyboard now!!! how i ever missed this thread i dont know! it looks better than the factory one!
  4. if you can have a nice word with your supplier they can tick the "gift" box on the transport form, that way you wont have to pay VAT as you didnt actualy purchace it! lol. get them to send the recipt seperately. also buy from states now as the exchange rate was $1.82 to the pound! $300 is £164 which for such a bulky item aint bad!
  5. well as long as its not too much work i will have one in FM please, lol. depending on price. not in the mood to pull all the head lining off tho! if its a pull of put on job im there, lol
  6. VERY NICE!!!! looks extremely clean and very agressive. Who did the exhaust? it looks good, costs? And did it benifit the power? Ice looks sweet. Is it just a stick on Fake BMW 7 series arial or a real one? i like it, and if its viable as an alternative to the standard one i will get one, lol.
  7. This sounds so cool, whats the expected power output? Are you keeping dimensions and drawing of all the parts you have made so you could repeat this again? could be a good thing to sell (a complete book of drawings and instructions?) amazing work so far.
  8. woke up to about 20mm of snow, then just 20 mins ago had a downfall for about 10 mins, but has stopped. Is it just me being a bit Bah Humbug or does everyone else HATE snow! it was great as a kid but now is just a pain in the *****!
  9. its definately a lot of fun. Nitro cars dont work well as drifters as the power is not instant enough to break traction as required, plus you gotta have the car on full throttle a lot of the time in a slide. A nitro car would blow your ear drums after 10 mins lol. defiantely give it a go. its a lot of fun! smooth tarmac works best
  10. what tyres are you guys using? perhaps there is a common element here? I am using Michelin pilot sports on my car and they were fine? not a slip or spin and my road was horendus today, and its on a 20 degree slope? and it was sheet ice? i did have over half a tank of fuel tho
  11. yup drifitng RC cars is so fun. im totaly into it. Its cheapish too. All you need is electrical tape on the rear wheels and 3/4 tape coverage on the front wheels leaving the inside edge exposed. The car has to be 4 wheel drive otherwise it wond drift it will just spin out. The car in the video is the new soon to be released YOKO drift car, bsaicaly its a normal touring car shassis with stiffer springs and lots of front camber. the main thing is the tyres they are using. we are yet to see them but they appear to be a mixture of rubber and plastic. I have been experimenting using plastic drain pipe for tyres and it works great allowing your car to slide from left to right quickly Tyres More tyres here are a few drift bodies they are coming out with Drift Bodies Drift Bodies but you can use any body you want. HPI make some great body shells and they are only £18 each. my one is a hpi s2000 shell HPI Webpage Here is my car Photo A Photo B Photo C Photo D yes the rims are aluminum! i had them custom made and CNC machined as they are a lot stronger than standard plastic rims. My friend owns the only drifting site for RC cars in the world so far, its realy good and has a forum RC Drift.Com Have a look on there as there are some great videos. also the forum is getting pretty good too. There are also tutorials on there. If there is gonna be a bluewater meet i could bring it down to show ya, virtualy any car can be set up for drift. but the better the car the more options you have for fine tuning
  12. unfortunately im not an architect. but i do know a bit about construction. The job is a good one, we are building the new home office building in london, its a £250 million pound job, and is very cool. i am 4th in the rankings of most important people on the job, there is a Project director, then two specialist project managers and im the Project manager/engineer. then come all the sub contractors etc. The best thing is all i have to do is attend meetings and point out to people where they are going wrong. i never have to get my hands dirty anymore. Plus last time i was a sub contractor my compnay bent over backwards to keep the Project management company happy, money, beer, food. anything they wanted, i was so jelous. Now im one of them. yay. hehehe
  13. i found it sooooo useful this morning. Its a great button that stopped me from spinning on the spot for several hours while pulling out of a junction today. am very impressed. i want a snow button on every car i own from now on. even if its only to use it once a year!
  14. well my tints are staying in till im given a rectification notice! i was reading in the times yesterday that the courts jailed 5000 more motorists than burglers! what kind of f*****g society is this! In the end i think we will get left alone more due to having a lexus rather than a Clio with 5% light transmision limo tints. and having private plates seems to keep the piggies at bay a bit longer too. i make sure i have copies of all relevent documents and am polite and forthcoming with all details. they only stopped me for 30 seconds last time and apologised for any inconvienence caused. they didnt check the car at all, jsut me! i also run the front windows all the way down too! as long as your not sighing etc then they will give you a little bit more respect. altho there is always an **** of a copper who just wants to get you coz he cant afford one and is jelous!
  15. well i run michelin pilot sports and love them to bits, i have never had and aqual planing even when running into the seepest of puddles at speed, which is good. in the dry they are amazing, but in the wet they are just as good, i have so much confidence in them, they are predictable and also very controlabel in a slide (which are frequent). and yes they are pretty soft, but i will always be buying them
  16. cheers guys, im sure i will be getting to all the meets i possible can. and as for a kent mini meet that sounds good to me. maybe another meet at bluewater could be aranged. as it was pretty cool last time. plus you being in gravesend thats pretty close! and the covered car parks definately help!
  17. well guys it looks like i get to keep my IS200 forever now! im so glad i never sold it, its the best car ever, but the main thing is now i have a position as a M&E engineer at the worlds 3rd largest construction management company called "boygues uk". they are a french company that have contracts all over the world. plus im gonna be starting on their most prestigious project. The new home office buildings in london near westminister. pay is realy good so im planning on getting all the toys for my car seeing as i will be able to afford them, on the critical list is: 50k service Lowering! EBC pads (fed up of dust) Super charge the little blighter! HKS exhaust (again) tte body kit thanks for all the help you guys have offered, now its time for me to contribute again
  18. not till 10pm, last time i checked at 9pm i still hadnt got it
  19. well im not too botherd, but my bank manager may be, lol. silly me made him some promises. oops
  20. the Mr2 i test drove needs about £1500 worth of work. would have been ok if i had the cash. *** must be working hard to make me keep my lex! today so far: job rejection (over qualified??? how can anyone be over qualified) Mr2 not being what it said loosing the sale on the lex (luckily before i paid out ££££), hmmm perhaps tomorrow will be a better day. still sounds like you got a good deal, the pound goes further up north i hear, lol.
  21. looking great, as for the neons did you go for neon gas filled tubes or those even brighter LED tubes which are unbreakable, plus you can have them pulse and stuff. as that blue looks great even during daytime! cant wait to see it at night
  22. well i was going to buy one and after taking it for a test drive was quite happy, then put my deposit on a 9-3 aero convertible and a week before it was mine i took a test drive in an IS200 se and prompty phoned up SAAB to tell them to give my deposit back and gave it to lexus! there is no way i would have the saab now i have driven a lexus. your right about the handbrake, i thought it was just me when i pulled it up! also had a best friend who worked for saab city in london bridge, he said that they are having constant problems with the range of new 9-3's.
  23. i think about 300bhp N/A would be great. as this would mean that you would never realy stress the cars engine as you wouldnt use all the power all of the time. where as i find that to get the best out of the is200 you have to drive it hard. it would be more enjoyable to have at least 250bhp - 300bhp. that way it would seem effortless. i agree with the fact that any power a car can produce can be too much for some people! mainly nova drivers and women/men who cant see over the steering wheel!
  24. i voted for a sc is200, as even tho i have just sold my is200 im gonna be back with a is200 sc! (at some point) although as was said before, a 6 speed manual IS300 would be sorely tempting especialy if there was a turbo or supercharged version.
