  1. This happens in order to get the engine warmed up. Once it is then the revs gradually drop back to a more normal rate. Mine starts at 1.5k and drops to 0.7k idling when warmed up.
  2. I'd say keep it as you will have already lost most of the depreciation in the first 3 years anyway.
  3. Glad you finally got a solution to your exhaust problem. 70mph at 2k revs is quite normal. Would you care to divulge where you got the exhaust fitted and what the cost was? I'm sure others will have exhaust system issues in the future and the info may well be of use.
  4. A quick search on eBay returns many non-oem full stainless steel exhaust systems at much cheaper than you've been quoted. They do come from USA so you'll probably end up paying import duty, but you'll still be quids in.
  5. Great colour combination, that would also my interior/exterior choice. I'll be waiting at least a year though as I never buy during the first year of a new model.
  6. Thanks for posting this Carl, I just bought the last set. Will keep them for when I sell the car.
  7. I hope we get the AWD version in the UK, then we can properly test out the snow mode
  8. I would advise against changing from the manufacturers recommended profile - in the event of an accident your insurance company would not cover you.
  9. Yes it was but then they stopped offering the option during the last 2 years of production, citing lack of demand.
  10. I have to say I like it and glad to see the sunroof is back. I wonder what the pricing structure is?
  11. Lucky1 and UKDentonGS300 - I would be interested to know how much Lexus charge for this work to be done. Thanks.
  12. This is happening because you turned the A/C off. Run the car with it on, the windows will be nice and clear. The amount of fuel you will save is probably negligible having it turned off.
  13. Could be that your mp3 files are variable bit rate. Although the manual says these should play, I've found that they can give problems. Try re-encoding the files at a standard bit rate.
  14. 99% of the time I have it switched on, except when I play a DVD-Audio disc that is already 5.1 surround encoded. For some reason the ML doesn't recognise the existing encoding and re-encodes the signal, which then doesn't sound right.
  15. Me too. It's excellent in that respect. Mine automatically lowers the gears when driving down a steepish decline. This is the case when in any of the ect modes.
  16. How do they come off? Is it an easy job to get the tips off and back on again? I'd like to give them a good polish inside and outside.
  17. My guess is that it's a fault, if the radio is fine. Call the dealer quickly to register the problem.
  18. Hi Xavier - I have same year car, same spec except I also have sunroof and it is Cadoxton Slate (grey) - otherwise exactly the same with 3.5k more on the clock. I've had it 3 years and still love the Lexus refinement. Pricewise, it is at the upper end of the dealer retail price (£10,995 - £11,995), so maybe some room to haggle a little. I'd be impressed with the low mileage but a little concerned with the towbar, who knows what it's been pulling along. Having said that it has full Lexus service history and the engine is pretty much bulletproof if serviced at the recommended intervals. It's a buyers market now so have a good look around for similar cars elsewhere and as Normski says, offer less and be prepared to walk away, there's a good to great chance they'll be calling you to accept your (reasonable) offer within 24hrs.
  19. I did my last service myself, wanted oem pollen, air and oil filters. I have a Toyota franchise 5 miles from me. I filled in an online form with the part numbers, the Toyota rep emailed me back with the prices for each and said that if I replied within the hour they would be ready to pick up at my local Toyota branch in the afternoon. So, they do supply Lexus parts, and I don't see why they wouldn't service a Lexus car, but I didn't ask when I picked up the parts. Wish I had now so that I'd have a more definitive answer to briatore's opening question.
  20. Now that is one sleek car. I think the front grill will look better with a registration plate on it, and love the what appears to be a brake light on the shark fin above the rear window. I wonder what the price will be . . .
  21. Top tip Exdee. My passenger side mirror was operating the dip in reverse intermittently, tried your suggestion and now it works perfectly. Well done!
