  1. I think ordering a Tesla is one hell of a gamble, but good luck with it.
  2. @is200 Newbie Congratulations to you. When you get it finished can you list all parts, tools needed and a full walkthrough of the fitting process (with pics if possible). That should then be 'pinned' to the forum page by the mods.
  3. I bought the Denso OEMs from ECP. The Bosch I had before were rubbish from the start compared to these. I kept the old OEMs and the newly purchased Denso are exactly the same. They clear all the rain/moisture first time and are quiet as a mouse. Took all of 1 minute to replace, and a bargain at £17.xx for the pair.
  4. @ahmedali44 I don't find them noisy, but I do have the radio on 99% of the time. Anyway, I think the whole 'db noise' ratings are of little consequence as it depends entirely on the road surface you are driving on. I have had Dunlop tyres before rated at 69db and don't notice any difference between those and the Nexens rated at 74db. As for the Nexens, they are comfortable and reasonably hard wearing, lasting about 20k miles. I can't really comment on performance driving as I don't push the car anywhere near to its limits, but in the wet they perform more than adequately.
  5. I have Nexen N8000 tyres all round on mine. Excellent value for money. Had the N6000 tyres before which I think suited the car slightly better than the latest version.
  6. I never use cruise control for that very reason, unless on a motorway with extremely sparse traffic. In normal traffic I felt the need to keep my foot above the brake pedal but it was just too uncomfortable.
  7. The paint on the alloy wheels is the absolute WORST thing about the IS mk2. Corrosion and bubbling reported by many owners. I had my fronts swapped out under warranty and less than 2 years later they did the same. The only way around this is to get them professionally refurbished at a cost of about £75 per wheel.
  8. I would be very careful ordering bulbs from ebay, there are lots of fake bulbs up for sale, and I would suggest at £21 if it seems too good to be true it probably is. It would be wiser to purchase them from a reputable retailer.

  10. From http://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/gone-60-seconds-high-tech-car-theft/ "Another car theft problem exists with the latest Toyota and Lexus proximity keys. Crooks have been using a sophisticated tool that clones the signal of a key when pressed to lock the car. The thieves hide out of sight and press a button on their cloning machine at the same time the car owner pushes the key lock button. The signal is then copied and allows the thieves to unlock and start the car without any sign of break-in." As I stated previously, the thief would have to be within 1 metre of the car to capture the signal when using the door handle/button to unlock/lock the car. I feel safer using this method because it IS safer.
  11. There you go, you've answered your own doubt. Unless the thief is within 1 meter of the car when you press the button on the door they won't be able to capture the signal.
  12. I never use the remote control to lock/open the car. Always use the buttons on the door handles or boot to gain access and the same for locking. At least that way nobody can read the frequency using a scanner and then steal your car.
  13. Really sorry to hear that. Long gone are the days when you'd see a note left under one of the wipers with the contact details of the assailant.
  14. I had the exact same symptoms as you. I went for the Osram Xenarc Cool Blue. Ignore the name, they are not blue, but so much better (brighter) than the Philips OEM bulbs. I'm very happy with them and advise that you replace both bulbs. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00OGS4K30/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1OD8NTYX4YCOE&coliid=I3HS0Y1UH93ZU&psc=1
  15. That recall checker didn't recognise my car, but this one did: https://www.toyota.co.uk/caring-for-your-toyota/owners/recall-checker.json
  16. The recessed centre console is the way it should have been in the first place. I always thought the current one stuck on top looked awful.
  17. Would've helped if you had stated that it was a company car purchase in the first place
  18. Given that your dealership didn't give you the option of the face lift probably means that they're laughing all the way to the bank that they got an order for a pre-face lift model. Unless you got a hefty discount, change your order and wait for the new model.
  19. Yes a fake one, like on the black IS250 pics you posted earlier, less than £12 from Amazon and sticks on with 3m tape. Look at the new IS or any new BMW, Audi or Merc to name but a few that have them.
  20. How about a faux shark fin antenna? Nice and easy to fit and would give the car a more modern look.
  21. I haven't used them myself, but these guys look interesting: http://www.profusioncustoms.com/custom-stainless-steel-exhausts/
  22. Hi Linas Firstly, if the battery is still under warranty you should get Halfrauds to replace it. If that was me I'd insist on it and threaten a small claims court action if they still refuse, especially if you have proof of the battery age, the 4 year warranty given, and if it was recommended by them as a replacement for your previous battery. If you don't want to do that then I'd recommend the Bosch S4, which is what I have replaced the Panasonic oem with 6 months ago. It comes with a 4 year warranty, just make sure you get the correct + and - post placement, see the link below: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Battery-Type-Manufacturers-Warranty/dp/B005XVUGUA
  23. They've been this price for a long time now, I've had them in my ebay watch list for at least 6 months. I'm going to get mine professionally refurbed - chemically stripped, powder coated, oven baked etc - all four costing £320. I don't see the point in getting new ones as they'll more than likely begin to corrode again after 12 months. And I'll save £76 over buying new.
  24. So many people damage the filter cover by not knowing the correct procedure, and as you say it will be a real pain to fix, making this a great post. I've saved the diagram and will print off a copy to put in the glove box if/when I ever sell my IS250.
