  1. By new I meant the current model. Yes the 'new' LS certainly looks much better than the current one, although it's only a prototype at present. Let's hope it doesn't change too much.
  2. yes the lights are self leveling but the units have to be installed and adjusted level in the first place. The self leveling system doesn't look at the light beam so it has no way of knowing if they are correctly adjusted.
  3. the new LS has a 6 speed transmission which helps but it has always been more aerodynamic. On paper the LS is worse than the GS300 but owners seem to report about the same mpg. Maybe LS drivers are just more gentle on the throttle?
  4. LS430 is more economical than the GS430 and about the same as a series II GS300.
  5. there should be no problem with a car fitted with xenons behind you if they are adjusted correctly.
  6. Plasma are cheaper to manufacture but have pretty much come to the end of their development. LCD are still being improved and prices are coming down as the market gets bigger. I believe Sony are overrated, however they have good and bad products the same with Toshiba. One good thing about Sony, Philips and Toshiba is they invest a lot of money into R&D, bringing out new technology. Philips CRT and LCD TVs have been winning award after award in the last few years. Doesn't really matter who makes the LCD (most are made by LG anyway) it's how it's driven and the digital processing that counts.
  7. but you don't normal just start it and leave it playing for 20 hours. You start/stop it, select different tracks etc. which uses the backlight and hard drive more and therefore shortens battery life, also depends how high the volume is set.
  8. shouldn't happen because the immobiliser should be immobilised when the engine is running - if that makes sense :)
  9. that sounds more like it, although a little low for that type of driving.
  10. I've often found you get increased mpg when you add an injector cleaner. I believe they add octane boosters to give you extra mpg. Makes you think the product has done wonders but give it a tank or two and the mpg drops back down again.
  11. Not all seats will fit. I had to test several models to get a good fit in my old IS200. On the Britax website there is a vehicle guide for their products. Has your rear seat been used a lot? Maybe it has lost some firmness?
  12. nothing official yet but worth speaking to your dealer, they will probably know. Some of the reviews mentioned pricing which seemed to be the same as the IS250 but that may not be 100% correct.
  13. Go LCD, Philips 37PF9830 if you can afford it.
  14. ACC switches off below 30mph (i think) and therefore cannot be used in stop-start traffic. Hopefully, the next generation version will have it, like distronic-plus on the new S-class :winky: ← I don't think you would want it like the MB version. Did you not see the test MB done at their factory on Top Gear? Car didn't stop in time and smashed into the car in front
  15. info was in the knowledgebase http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...ex_v2&id=94&c=3

  17. The change schedule is 100k or so many years (6 maybe?). It's probably worth inspecting it but shouldn't be changed unless it's needed.
  18. Have you contacted Lexus GB? They probably won't do anything but it's worth a try.
