  1. Is it not Volkswagen who foot the bill? All the charging points I've seen carry prominent VW branding.
  2. They're 19s. I think the stretched tyres eggagerate things. Wheels definitely look like they'd be at home on something JDM and retro like a Supra, Chaser, S14 Nissan etc, but I certainly don't hate them on that RC. Kudos to the owner for trying something different. The calipers look real BTW. They look like the 4-pot ones you get on a GS450H, 200t models.
  3. The OEM rear tyre size on an F-Sport (255/40R18) is ludicrously expensive with a weak selection of brands and tyre models available. By downsizing to 245/40R18 you open up a much wider choice - new Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6, CrossClimate 2 etc. Yeah, you can get the new Michelin PS5 in the OEM size, but look a the price difference... By switching to 245s you basically get your front tyres for free.
  4. I noticed it. Car felt significantly worse to me running on E10, so switched back to using E5. Then, after a number of tankfuls, decided to give E10 another shot to see if it really was as bad as I remembered....Yes, yes it was so that was the last time I bought E10. As long as E5 remains available (and my fear is that it won't be around much longer), I'll continue to pay the small premium for it, despite my car being approved to use E10.
  5. WTF. Were they trying to overtake you? Hopefully your car gets sorted. My one wasn't after this. 060616.mp4 Police obtained the footage and the driver was prosecuted. Even if you end up not "needing" a dashcam, it could pay for itself via discounts on your insurance premium.
  6. I'd say all 4 wheels are an issue if they're losing 4 or 5 psi within 2 weeks. That's a bit above what I'd consider normal. Just to add to Len's tip re: pouring water over the tyre & valve to check for leaks. Adding a drop of washing up liquid to the solution will make bubbles more likely to appear, or be more visible.
  7. Agreed, that journey is too short to get a true picture. My journey to work is around 12 miles, mostly on A road and Motorway and I'm almost there by the time the car is operating with proper efficiency.
  8. I'd definitely be up for switching if it opened up a wider range of tyres available. I did the same on my IS250 - 245s on the rear instead of 255s. My only concern would be whether the RX wheels are wide enough to accommodate them without looking weird. What are they? 8.5" would ideally be the minimum width needed for a 255 tyre.
  9. Herbie, a quality rant though and one that has definitely saved me money. 😃 I've been tempted a few times to get an AC service done because every now and again, I'll recieve an offer like this in my inbox. I leave my A/C on all the time and it seems cold enough, but that claim of losing 15% refrigerant every year is what got me spooked. So this is total BS?
  10. You're welcome. The headlamp washers are only on cars with HID lights, so it's an easy way to tell if you need halogen bulbs or not. I can personally recommend Osram Cool Blue Intense bulbs. Had them in my high beams for the past 4 years and they have a nice white/light blueish hue.
  11. I think it's the other way round. A car with runflats must also have TPMS. TPMS isn't tied to any particular tyre technology. Many cars with TPMS still have regular tyres.
  12. Never wrapped a car before but I don't think it's particularly cheap. Plus, won't any imperfections and chips that are under the wrap still be visible? Unless you want a colour change, it's possibly better just to get the affected areas painted.
  13. Also a fan of the look, but I don't like cars that are 100% blacked-out, so I would personally leave the chrome bits alone. Buy some tyre dressing instead. 🙂
