  1. i seem to have accidently logged on to a foreign language website, the pure dab works fine for me,
  2. the mulsanne straight is the public road at none 24hr racing times, there's a smaller circuit inside for other events so you may of been on some of it
  3. all depends if it was done at 60000,check bills or service records to see if done, its not due again till 120000 miles,or 10 years, some say 6yrs.if it has some lexus stamps, you may be able to check,
  4. thats really good, amazing performance, for heavy old luxury barge, really good traction too going thru those bends
  5. ls400,maybe one of the last big cars you can buy cheaply, and run relatively cheaply, you don't seem to be everlastingly spending on them,im a bit wary of the 430,when i changed my old ls,it was a toss up when i bought mine between the two,and i erred on the side of caution, some of the suspension woes are a bit worrying, thou im sure theres alot of satisfied 430 owners,i will keep mine as long as economically viable.id like to go to a 460 if poss, just look a little more modern,or maybe a gs430,i do like a v8 or similar, might even consider rx
  6. according to handbook the flashing could be be disabled by the dealer, when purchased, ther is a button low down under dash, drivers side which activates the bleep i do believe
  7. my aerial does that,it had an after market one fitted before i had it,i think the wiring been adapted, prob cos the lexus one is arm and leg,it doesnt bother me,i did replace mine a year ago with the same after market item
  8. the japs do make a car with supercar performance, the nissan GTR 0/60 2.9 sec, fastest production car around the nurburgring, full of electronic wizardry,a lovely piece of kit
  9. lovely car the lancia,i've had a few alfas, still would prop buy a 2000 drophead, like beautiful women, beautiful cars are high maintenance, sometimes rewarding, sometimes pleased when its all over
  10. i think you can admire the merc for the way its built etc,but its not beautiful,as everything beauty is in the eye of the beholder,i saw an alfa 8c in the flesh a couple of years ago,a very exspensive limited edition car it was lovely, most italian cars alfas ,lancia's and maserati especially some 50 & 60 cars are beautiful, most astons, citroen ds decapotale and sm,and facel vega among my favourites
  11. when that happened on my 94 ls it was the switch i had to replace,i checked with 12v tester first if i had power at lights, then at switch, iknow on some cars,if the boots used a lot,the wires going to bootlid can break,do the basic testing first,if no power at switch more likely a fuse
  12. be interesting to see the tv on the back seat,is it just thrown in there, with the other rubbish, or is it fitted
  13. your new car looks very nice, and you are pleased with it.cars do improve all the time, and being 7 yrs newer than the ls makes a difference, the ls is a lovely car but they are getting old,i think i might well go for an rx when the time comes,im 65 and it will be easier to get in and out,for one thing,i use mine every day,and they are big cars to wheel around and park in town, but great on the open road
  14. hi Russel welcome to the club,a lot of knowlegable people on here, enjoy your car
  15. yes ,being honest, usually avoids problems on ebay,i think you will get close or above, to what you want i expect you will get a flurry of activity towards the end, good car for the money
  16. i see that adam from of shysters from dudley been in touch to buy it,i was told by somebody who had dealings he agrees to buy car then turns up to try to knock off 2/300 quid
  17. i expect you all paid alot more money for your cars ,mk4,for under a grand must be worth a look, even with dirty steering wheel, the guy has no feedback history as a dealer
  18. yes they do,when lights are on the seat motif lights up,another yellow light comes on when switched on.
  19. bridport is in a street fairly close to me at the moment,it makes a nice pimpmobill.i think you are all being superior, and being a bit hard on it,
  20. its prob not going to be alot, and,to be fair its got years mot and some tax,and running, and don't look in too bad condition.might be cheap transport for someone, may be able to tone it down a bit, someone will like it
  21. back in the eighties i had crown estates, the first 1975 crown custom estate, had loads of kit for the day a/c 8 track, electric everything, alot for 75,i had 2 old english sheepdogs at the time,2 kids ,we all fitted in,then i changed it for a 1979 one, a squarer shape ,that had the wood panel on the back, and twin wipers on the tailgate,we had a cressida estate as well, they were all great reliable cars too
  22. To be honest i don't really use the parking brake much,i know its wrong but i never seem to, on autos, ive been using it before mot,and its got a bit better, they are a bit awkward to use i think , an inspection will be in order soon as its warmer
  23. the car mot due ,had to take it in today for test.the good news the old motor passed, had an advisory about chip in windscreen but not in zone A,and whilst the parking brake passed the tests there's no reserve on it,i will get these attended to ,but all ok for another year of lexus motoring, always a relief to get it done
