Today, I was driving through northwest London and not only did I see 12 IS200s, 10 of them were Astral Black - the same colour as mine! The other two were Graphite and blue. Freaky to say the least considering I'd be lucky to see 1 in a week let alone 12. Curiouser and curiouser...

    I would be prepared to travel to the Midlands if I knew I was getting a good deal. I have a dealer who is about a ten minute drive away from me and I've only dealt with them once. I sent an email to this dealer last Saturday(via the website) enquiring about services and alloy refurbishment - it's now Friday and I've still heard nothing. I think this particular dealer is only interested in you if you want to buy a new Lexus. Everyone else can go jump as far as they're concerned.

    Cheers for the info - what didn't you like about them? Anybody know of a reliable source where I can get the front discs and pads then? Any help would be most appreciated as I think I'm getting to the screech pins and need to change my pads asap!

    Ah bugger. It seems as though the distributor I've gone to can't get any front pads or discs from Mintex. I then rang another distributor and even though they're still on Mintex's website, they say they've stopped selling Mintex stuff as they were unreliable in terms of keeping up with stock orders. The first distributor said I'd probably have to wait a month or so. Would it be wise to mix front and rear discs and brakes? I might just cancel the order and go for EBCs instead.

    Well, I've taken the plunge and finally decided to replace my standard discs and brakes with the Mintex ones having heard about the reduction in brake dust. As my alloys are an embarassment where corrosion and pitting are concerned, I'll now have an incentive to either get them refurbed or maybe even take the plunge and get some 18"s next month! I'll post photos when I do though. :D

    Sounds like what everyone else has said - cooling down of metal but if you aren't convinced, get a pro to check it out. Can never be too careful! :D
