  1. Go darker for sure. would look good.
  2. i bought a SKF kit for £100 (had everything). blueprint water pump for £40 and 3 goodyear aux belts for £20. thats £160 parts and good ones. A good trustworthy garage i know charged me £175 labour to fit. total thats £335. Have heard of people getting it done for £300 on here though. dont pay more than £400
  3. Didnt say i cared, just said it puzzled me why not the IS when every other model did. MPG gauge and outside temp is adequate for sure. i know how many miles ive got left by looking at the fuel gauge
  4. autodata says 2 - 3 hours i believe. If you can get it done for £300 inc parts youve got a good deal
  5. well some of the V6 auto mondeos i was looking at didnt even have climate control or half leather. Ive noticed it seems ford went backwards with spec after about 2000 with the Mondeo, Focus, Galaxy etc. older Fords like the Scorpio, Cougars, Explorer and maverick were very weill spec'd in comparison. At the time im thinking its something to do with keeping all there makes segregated such as Jaguar, Mazda and Volvo to keep sales strong A trip is definately lacking in the IS and it puzzles me why because every other Lexus's had one even older models
  6. this is true but more so with a V8 due to the torque
  7. so whats it like in comparison to the Mondeo. not just the engine but the car in general? i was looking into getting one when getting my IS. the V6 one. but found the interior cheap feeling and the design quite boring. was looking for a V6 Auto saloon, or 2.0L 4 pot and there were some bargains to be had, but like i said was put off. in fact every alternative i looked at i ended up going back to looking for a IS lol a perfect all rounder
  8. Deep clean them first then and grease them up then just use brake cleaning spray every wash along side a wipe. I use one of those sponge clothes. wheel sealant is a good idea
  9. Ive always thought a straight 6 is a smoother and more symmetrical setup with a nicer notethan a V6
  10. yeah shame your not in the UK as im sure a fellow member would gladly assist you reading. You can buy code readers cheap on ebay too, but then again not sure how urgent the problem is. can ask any garage to do a diagnostics check it takes a few minutes. the connector is under the steering wheel i believe
  11. Out of all the owners clubs, i find the LOC the friendliest and most welcoming out of them all. got a great bunch on here. welcome anyway. SC is a beautiful motor with a great engine to match
  12. btw hoodrich i think ive already offered to source parts for you from the UK and have them shipped if your ever in need via royal mail
  13. yeah the skirts are something ive been putting off tbh but will need sorting at some point as the car ages. hmm so thats my cure for wind noise! lol i posted about that a while ago
  14. ha well im just a car nerd lol i like to know everything :D even if i dont like the car! im sad i know
  15. Well like i said it was prob a combination of all the things ive tried lol
  16. Oh and i use stuff like this on plastics, as alot of polishes, waxes and scratch removers warn against using on plastics.
  17. Also a new door handle can be picked up for a tenner (£10) so not sure its worth the hassle of spraying
  18. yeah the drivers side A pillar cover. exactly the same on mine, must be about 10 black burn marks! i actually only noticed about a year after owning the car and was like how did that get there! lol they pop up on ebay quite a bit for £20ish Yeah respraying is a option, but i dont trust myself not to mess it up! i didnt mind doing that kinda trial and error stuff on my last cars but im too scared on the lex lol or i could even get some chrome covers but not sure how good that would look? The paint on the skirts is bubbling all the way along, bumpy to touch. no rust. Its almost as if the paint is not as good down there because the paint is perfect everywhere else
