  1. I use Vredestein on the LS, on my second set, first set lasted 30k. Nice and quiet, good grip wet and dry, but there again I dont loon about so maybe I've not found their limits in the wet!!!
  2. Presumably this page does not offer the type you want.... http://www.consumabulbs.com/files/nproduct.php?mk=33&md=4653 I have no knowledge ref hids - sorry - just offering (maybe) some help!!! Dave
  3. Very rarely see much on the Yahoo forum of interest but thought this might be...... .............................................................................................................. Subj: [lexus-forum] 2003 RX300 air cond. condenser- stone impact problem Date: Tue, 06 Jun 2006 00:31:29 -0000 From: ltcheimmel@yahoo.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Vehicle had lost freon over time and dealer indicated cause was a hole in condenser coil resulting from "road impact" from stone. Lexus service advisor at DiFeo Lexus told me these commonly occur 1-2X's per week; service manager indicated they occur 1-2X's per month; given I do all my business there the dealer did not charge me labor to replace condenser unit and sugg. I contact Lexus "Customer Care". After much debate and a long wait they offered to pay 50% of cost of part ($509.08 total cost for condenser assy.). I asked if they could recommend a deflection type screen to prevent this from occuring in future, but they refused to make a recommendation. Has this problem occurred to any other Forum readers? Also, I am considering placing a 1/8 to 1/4" hardware screen over the coil to prevent future stone impact. Any suggestions on this? ................................................................................... Regards Dave
  4. Adding to an old thread I know - but its just a bit more knowledge for the forum in the right place. Had my autotrans fluid changed at the weekend by a local (Dartford, Kent) auto gearbox company. They changed 100% of the fluid by the usual method of disconnecting the pipes at the front and just running the engine (in laymans terms that is - probably a bit more techy than that!!) The retail cost is around £125 for the whole job, and what a difference it has made! Much smoother changes is the most noticeable, and the result of that is that all appears to be quicker. Dave
  5. Yup Air Temp Sensor One of the "posts" is the Air Temp Sensor and the other is like a tube. Look up the inside of the tube and you will see 2 thin wires, those are the ones you want to clean :D IS300 and Altezza have a MAF and IS200 has a MAP with separate temp sensor in the air box. Thanks MacRS200, I'll have a look this week and report back
  6. I'm confused too Ian .... I took what I assume to be the MAF sensor (top of the air intake, engine side of the filter, 3 small bolts holding it in, about 4 inches by 3) out last night and could see no wires or anything that could be cleaned! It has 2 errr 'posts' that stick into the airflow, but what either of them do is a mystery. I didnt want to poke them around too much just in case, so anyone that knows how they work on an LS400 Mk2, please enlighten me (and anyone else). Cheers Dave
  7. Yep, Maria and Derek at DsAutos sorted mine out a couple of years ago. Chris Vince on here also sorts them out, as has been said, its just a few pence in bits but a whole lotta knowledge!!!! (as with most things!!)
  8. Might be an idea to disconnect the battery BEFORE you start this, as (presumably) the tank will be open and fumes will be about - the less fuel you have - the more fumes will be around - and they ignite FAR easier than petrol!! Just my 2p
  9. Pops, depending on your love of originality and or spending money, why dont you just get the exhaust patched with a bit of judicious welding? I got fed up with my cats blowing slightly all the time at the bottom flange and a local garage just welded them up for me for the princely sum of twenty squid. After all, I'm not going to replace them any time soon - or even at all, so as long as a bit-o-weld sorts the problem - I have no problem!!
  10. Hi and welcome to the club .... can we have a pic of the bit that you think is missing please edit - the space where you think a bit is missing from Cheers Dave
  11. Anyone else tried this? Does my LS have one of these doohickeys and if so can I do the same with it? If it does - where is it?? Be a nice easy thing to do if it works
  12. Not been able to get on LOC today mate properly. Its been running like a bag of spanners! I sent you a PM back with my contact info incase you found the correct CD but I don't think you got it? :duh: I apprecite you helping me, but I think Moffet has what I need. :D Thankyou again. Moffet - Thanks for this. Your the man!! I've PM'd you my details. No probs Anees, glad you got sorted
  13. Best I can do is MSDN discs 2066, 2067, 2068, 2089, 2090 Our other pile of discs is not accessible at the mo - sorry If any of those are useful, let me know. Cheers Dave

  15. I'm 6.2 km from my local exchange (being in a village) but have 2Mbps with no problems and the signal to noise ratio and other line quality checks are favourable to attaining in the region of 15 Mbps if the DSLAM were ADSL2+ equipped.. of course my ISP uses BT's wholesale IPStream product to provide broadband services so the chances of getting ADSL2+ in the foreseeable future are pretty much nil unless BT decide to install fibre here... the technology is pretty much the same though. L. Leland, I'm sure that you know what that means but you lost me after ther word problems!!! Any thoughts on who I should talk to or how to resolve my problem? Demon dont want to know 'We supply 2 meg, its down to BT to provide a line suitable.....' etc etc Cheers Dave
  16. A bit OT but make sure that your BT line can support whatever speed is making you drool, otherwise you are wasting your hard earned..... I am nearly 5k's from the exchange and cannot get better than 112k/s on my 2meg Demon account, and I cant get NTL or TeleWest or... or... anything other than BT
  17. Hi Milkshaken Is this link of any use to you? http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexusLS400str1.htm My '93 is the same as this! Cheers Dave
  18. We had a problem with Norwich Union a couple of years back with differences of what I KNEW I'd said on the phone and what they'd written down! It took 2 months of phone calls back and forward till they actually listened to their recording (they DO record all calls) and agreed with me! Dont give in!!! Dave
  19. Another one in NW kent ehh - second today! - Welcome to the club!! Search for Chris Vince on this board - he will be able to help Cheers Dave
  20. Welcome to the club .... I dont know about an Ipod I'm afraid, but I think that a 12 year old car with only that mileage would need some REAL carefull looking at.... bushes, anything to do with perishables would probably have dried out. If the engine has run regularly throughout that time it MAY be OK, but if it did that mileage in (say) 2-3 years then hasnt moved since, all sorts of troubles with the engine/gearbox Anyway - best of luck and keep us posted Dave
  21. Never have worn one. Wife thinks I look daft in one .... I KNOW I do!!!
