  1. http://www.wptv.com/money/consumer/toyota-lexus-melting-dashboard-repairs-delayed-and-toyota-wont-say-when-they-will-start Any sign of problems over here in UK? Regards John
  2. I found that I couldn't post photos or links using Internet Explorer, but Google Chrome works fine I could not paste either using Internet Explorer, so I changed to Maxthon. Regards John
  3. I get 29 mpg driving short journeys around town and 38 mpg on long runs to Edinburgh. These are brim to Brim figures NOT the on board computer which often shows 40+ on long runs. All in all I am delighted as I have never had such a quiet and satisfying drive in any of the cars I`ve had. Happy motoring indeed. Regards John
  4. Many thanks for the full explanation Ambermarine. It certainly helps a lot to understand the different pricing structures and no longer will I be able to look at US prices and say "huh, they have twice the spec at two thirds of the price!" Regards John
  5. Thanks Pete. I suppose that the grass only seems greener ? Regards John
  6. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/foreign/2015/05/08/job-lexus-flagship-car-haven/27023881/ Don`t sell `em this cheap in UK ! Regards John
  7. Welcome aboard Richard. You have a nice car and you could become a pivotal player here by offering advice and guidance to us Hybrid owners. Regards John
  8. Tom, If you look at used cars on the official Lexus website, then you should see/might see the answers you are looking for. Failing that I am sure that other members will be along soon to help you. Regards John
  9. BECAUSE THE BBC IS ONLY INTERESTED IN RATINGS AND IT IS SO EASY TO SPEND SOMEONE ELSE`S MONEY (YOURS AND MINE!) Regards John
  10. I am the same height Ralph, but never had any problems with any of my cars EXCEPT a Mini I once hired for the weekend in 1972. The driving position was akin to that of a Bus Driver ! I have no problems with my GS450H, NOR DID i HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH the IS300H I borrowed when my car was recalled. I think that you need to test extensively the various seating adjustments which are available to you in the IS and hopefully all will be resolved. Good luck and do let us all know how you get on . Regards John
  11. Richie, Michelin P are both quiet and long lasting (assuming you are not a budding F1 Driver). I have had them on my E Class Estate for years. I have Kumho on the GS450H and they are quiet too. It is the road surface which causes most of the noise. Regards John
  12. VERY PLEASED FOR YOU ANNA. Now, how about going to a respected Lexus Dealership and looking at a Lexus which has a full Lexus Service History and taking an extended test drive in what I am satisfied is the most reassuring car available ? Good look and please do not let your recent experience put you off considering a Lexus. Regards John
  13. 70,000 on Michelin Premacy fitted to the front wheels of my E Class............................which DOES NOT HAVE FORMULA1 POTENTIAL!! Regards John
  14. Michelin Premacy are quiet om my E Class Estate and Khumo`s are very quiet on my GS450H. IT`S THE ROAD SURFACE THAT SEEMS TO CAUSE THE NOISE! Regards John
  15. Thanks CARL.......................and you have not even mentioned the relative difficulty of parking the LS ? Regards John
  16. Morning John and a warm welcome. Why change from the BM? Why choose the 450h? Did you buy privately or from an Independant Seller or from an authorised Lexus Dealer? Does it have a full service history, Lexus or otherwise? Sorry about the questions, but the answers may help us to help you more than we might otherwise. Regards John Other than Chevrolet, Canon and Burnley Football Club, I've never suffered from brand loyalty, hence the change. I bought it from a small car dealer in Warrington and it has 80,000 miles, with full Lexus service history. The 450h was just one on a list of possibilities, which included Jaguar XF, Mercedes CLS, VW Phaeton etc. Thanks John. I`ve never forgiven Burnley for "robbing" Wolves of the Double in 1960! I think that you should try to obtain an official Lexus warranty if you can, as repairs (if/when, they are needed) can be costly. If you cannot obtain one, then The Sale of Goods Act however, should provide an initial 6 months warrnaty from the Seller, should you need it. The power deliver is impressive and seamless, but not as involving as the BMW. There is however an initial air of detachment between Car and Driver, but this is subsumed by silence and serenity. Look up/ search, 450h problems on this forum, if you have not done so as it will provide useful background information and advice. Enjoy the Concorde !! Regards John
  17. Many thanks to all who have responded. I think that the mystery has been solved ! My youngest daughter has been to visit this weekend from Sussex as my wife is currently hospitalised. She spotted instantly that my phone was always connected and that I had 10 unanswered calls/messages from O2 !! She deleted all of them and now, peace and quiet again. Happy Days and "silly old dad" Regards John

  19. Smart thinking on the Extended Warranty Carl. Glad you are enjoying the "Starship". Regards John
  20. And it`s a cup for Left Handers !! Regards John
  21. It`s a funny thing alright, but when I`m driving I cannot see the outside colour !! If you like the interior and the car has a solid service history and the price is fair and you want GS400, then buy it. As someone said "it drink and be merry, for tomorrow we may die". AND DON`T FORGET THAT IT WILL EASILY STAND OUT IN A CROWDED CAR PARK! Good luck. Regards John
