John, For six years this SEL was our workhorse and never let us down. Trailer with Three bikes, a Sickle Mower, Petrol mower, two acrows and copious tools not to mention what the wife stuck in the back seat in the way of China/Cookery books etc., for a 600 mile journey back in 2009. The Lexus has been more lucky as so far has not had to tow any thing. Not done a trip to Spain but did go beyond usual stop for journey to Frejus last year. Saw a blue LS400 in Chabanais a few years back. Only one I've ever seen.

Goodness me, and I didn't see you in France in April ! Mind you, I've only ever seen one LS400 in France on our many trips. Off again later this month (August the time when all of France travels so prefer to avoid) and was looking forward to the Saturday 2pm Dover Ferry and driving through the night via Rouen, Chartres, Orlean and beyond, with wonderful roads with little or no traffic, especially no Camions on Sunday. Sadly owing to a funeral have had to reschedule departure to a Tuesday. Will be chaos this side of the Channel and busy the other side. C'est la vie! Just hope "Paul" has finished the refurbishment of their Service station as no toilets open after midnight, last time. OK I can do what many a Frenchman does (waving it around for all to see) but the wife errm..

Much impressed by the design of the Hyundai Coupe 2004/6. Great looking Car (Maserati?) at a peanut price. 2.7l or 2.00l. The larger thirsty V6 with tax at over £500 costs half the price of the Car!. Really taken by the shape but will the engine last more than 100k and what are the gremlins? Seem to have no end of trouble with blown bulbs and headlight settings at MOT time. Someone put me off the idea - please!!!

This is the same shape wheel frame but mine is marked L5 nor L7. Also this is for 1994 UCR20 onwards. Possibly I will be able to swap the rear panel from my existing wheel to include the square access panels. Not the first time I've bought something and not bothered to fit/use it until way after any recourse has timed out, and then found it was not what it claimed to be. I have this lovely Wood (effect?) Steering wheel bought at great cost from America listed as for a 1993 Lexus LS400. Thought I'd fit it this weekend as been hanging around for more? than a year. Blow me but its not for a 1993 LS but possibly for a later model LS which has radio controls. Realised this when looked at the blanking on my Wheel being a square whilst this has a larger uneven Rectangle shape each side. So, can anyone tell me when the first LS400 had paddles (one side or both sides?) as I will need to remarket it. If anyone could let me see a photo of a later model with this panel I can localise it. Its hung around because its more the colour of a LS430 even though someone has written LS400 in ink inside the moulding. Decided I could live with the variation rather than leave it in thge bag, but its no good for my Car. Thanks Stuart

Have you used injector cleaner recently? The other worry could be the ECU. Have the Capacitors been changed as I've read that this can cause all sorts of problems. You will be aware that they are known to leak. Someone will put me right if I'm wrong on this.

not really able to give you any advice on what sounds like a complicated problem but I would ask one Q. and also mention something I had happen. Q. you say a bank of four cylinders is out. How sure are you that 4 cylinders are out? I imagine that the car would not be at all driveable. I once replaced plugs and leads and had a misfire. Found I'd cut the lead to the nearest cylinder one side when replacing the plastic housing. Also, are the leads properly following the path they should? Not sure but crossed over leads may possibly cause a misfire? sorry I can't be more helpful.

On my 93 Car the original orange indicators only had one bulb holder in the front portion, the side portion being blanked. When I replaced with Clears I could only fit to the front and they still seem visible at the side, perhaps not to the degree that they could be. Not failed an MOT because of only one bulb, each side.

Norman, these indicators are a two part piece with only one screw. Is it just that the bulb holder that has gone awol? You can surely solder on the bulb holder from your old indiator to fix the problem? I can't see any damage to the actual housing but ??? Looked again at your photo's - not sure what second set of wires is to, on reflection. My units only have one bulb in them but two holders

I've always assumed its the Wedge of Cheese. I can use silver Duct tape cut to fit ad don't waste money on those Ferry things which don't fit the shape. First stick to Post Office waxy 1st Class stamp sheet and then cut. Perhaps later cars don't have glass so maybe not apporpriate? Duct tape just peels off after use and any sticky a good old Wilkinson Razor blade easily removes. Re Indicators have you tried ebay,usa? Wher I bought my clears. s/hand

As Steve says cleaning the hole thoroughly first is essential. Would not an Alan key welded into the hole be ideal and it even leves you with a tail to clout with a hammer.? Then either cut off the surplus leaving a part that a socket can fit on to.. Or is the steel wrong for welding?

I posted a thread on a Tape deck problem. I have a replacement Pioneer Original Radio that I was going to mess around with, but have decided life is just too short. It came from a 1993 car and is No. 86120-50121 KEH-M9751ZT. Not sure of mnfr date? If you were located in the UK I'd be happy to send it to you - no obligation unless it works. I see you are non UK and so the cost would need be met by yourself and depends on your location etc. I wasn't told if it works, and secondly if it has a security code stored in it - something to consider! My own car didn't have a code and I suspect many didn't but..........? It would fit, and I imagine its the same model as the earlier car, connecting to a CD changer in the Boot. Yes - the Car has a six CD Player in the boot and the head unit switches to CD each time I try to play a tape. Reason for needing Tape to work is to install a Jack socket to be able to play an MP3 player through it. It should be possible to play an MP3 player using a Tape Cassette which has a jack lead attached to it, but the player is not working and therfore cannot be modified successfully. OK I know I could have replaced the complete unit with something more modern but choose not to after the wiring colour coding baffled me.. Had a Sony Xplod and harness lined up, but have since sold it. i'll continue to use a Transmitter via the Radio but it's not as good as being hot plugged into the unit. Wavelength interference.

Not all bids are shown when a bidder has a maximum bid level his trumps the new bidder and the new bidder is not shown . Hence the increasing level seemingly by same bidder. but maybe I don't follow what you are saying. Malcolm £1,270 was the sale price

If a bidder puts in a high max bid, each time the bidding is increased by another interested party the first parties bid increases marginally. Nothing strange about the bidding at all. ps Why so disgruntled that it fetched a good price?
