  1. Really pleased it’s sorted & you can get back to enjoying the car again👍🏻
  2. Linas I couldn’t agree more but unfortunately as you say the reality is very different. I just felt very sorry for the owner who had his car stolen because at the time a lot of the good cars were with the dealers & he couldn’t come close to sourcing a replacement for the rediculous market value his insurance offered him.
  3. The rights & wrongs of insurance don’t really come into it as it’s required. The fact of the matter is that to minimise your loss on a rare car an agreed valuation policy or gap insurance seem to be the only option unless you are happy to accept the loss. I personally wouldn’t want to leave it to the vagaries of an insurance companies idea of market value, but each to there own!!
  4. As far as market value from standard insurance policies go - there is a thread on here relating to a stolen ISF & the best offer from the insurance company was 10k below the cheapest ISF available at the time if I remember correctly!! Its the reason I took out an agreed valuation on my ISF at the time.
  5. @Bluethunder Welcome to the club & great choice 👍🏻 As others have said re Lexus prices it’s probably only worth it if they offer you a good deal in comparison with what’s available elsewhere. These cars are so rare I would seriously consider an agreed valuation insurance or gap insurance from someone like ALA. You will not get anywhere near the value of the car if it’s written off or stolen from a normal insurance policy. I had a agreed valuation policy with Adrian Flux & have just switched to a 5 year Gap insurance with ALA (when I recently changed to an RCF) which can be done providing its within 6 months of purchase. PistonHeads also has a promo discount code you can use. It cost me about £350 for the 5 years - for comparison Lexus wanted £500 for 3 years.
  6. Nah those carbons are becoming bit common 😆😉 How funny - what were the odds of that I wonder!! Only ever seen an RCF on the road on my way home from Goodwood where I’m sure the odds are much higher.
  7. Very nice - I personally think the silver carbon is the best comb 👍🏻 You will be finding any excuse to drive it I’m sure. Fun times ahead!!
  8. I think the current generation of Golf is dull Inside & out even the R .- much prefer the Mk6 TBO. The I30N has had really good reviews & I much prefer the way it looks to the Golf for the above reasons. Good to have some new kids on the block showing the others how it can be done. Good choice 👍🏻
  9. I haven’t read any back to back reviews either so you are probably right. I had read that they are not as good as steel brakes initially until they warmed up.
  10. Oh ok hadn’t realised that. I thought that braking was supposed to be better when they were up to temperature as well as having the advantage of being fade free.
  11. Good day out at the hill climb & great to meet some more members. Really good venue with stunning scenery, a great selection of cars & good company👍🏻 Thanks to Tim & Alex at Lexus Cheltenham for taking people up the hill. Watching the LC & RCF (with a Quicksilver exhaust fitted) being put through there paces was also good fun. The new Yaris GRMN was also an impressive car in the flesh as well - proper pocket rocket!!. It was a great day & thanks @Big RatPaul for persevering mate. Fingers crosses for the F 10th Anniversary.
  12. Have to say having had the pleasure of sitting in @Warrington guy David’s car its a beauty and I can certainly see the appeal. Life is short so best take the opportunity to enjoy whatever floats your boat 👍🏻
  13. BMW will always win on track with ceramic brakes!! Couldnt tell if this M4 had them, but every other test I have seen has generally had them fitted. Always wondered what difference would be between them without the ceramics - not that it’s particularly relevant to normal road driving.
  14. If it’s was a white ISF then it could well have been me as I’m in the area fairly regularly and also none of my mates have such enlightened good taste in cars 😉. But there was also another member locally who used to have one in USB. Think we r both USB RCF owners now having defected to the dark side!!😆
  15. @Wellsey Hi Rickey that looks like the Lewis tunnel run - done that a fare few times on my way to Goodwood with friends from Uckfield/Heathfield. The exhaust sounds great👍🏻 Looking forward to running the Quicksilver exhaust through the Lewes tunnel at some point 😉
  16. Thanks that’s the exact picture I was talking about 👍🏻 I would have loved to have had them on my white ISF - they look brilliant!!
  17. They are a great car Marcus & I’m sure you will have a lot of fun. Let us know your impressions when you have lived with it for a bit 👍🏻 My other car is a Civic sport, which is a lot of fun and our experience with the dealers has also been a very positive one. Have Hun & keep us posted.
  18. Oh ok - finger dressed for better options at next renewal 🤞🏻
  19. 1st saw this done on a white ISF & thought they really suit the car👍🏻
  20. Sorry to hear that. L V might also be worth a go as they accepted my wife’s named driver NCD to start a new policy of her own. I appreciate this is not quite the same as coming from a company policy, but we were not having much luck for my wife until we phoned LV. Might be worth a call if you haven’t already tried them. Good luck whatever you decide on 👍🏻
  21. Bloody predictive text😡 Was supposed to say “with my favourite wheels”
  22. Have to say I think the silver carbon is my favourite combination and without favourite wheels. Afraid I’m not a fan of the new wheels either. As others have said they are a simpler style which somehow doesn’t suit the car. for me. Still each to there own😉
  23. I do like those wheels - very nice!! Although I’m also a bit partial to the carbon wheels as well - saw those on a white RCF on the Lexus stand at Goodwood last year, which is when I realised how much the RCF’s had grown on me!!
