  1. Wobbles that come and go usually indicate wheel balancing. I had a shudder that started at 65mph on mine that disappeared at 80mph and that turned out to be a rear wheel imbalance. It should be quick and easy to check, so if it was me I would probably have a look at that first anyway. Just don't let them fob you off by doing only the fronts. When mine did it the garage insisted that only the front wheels could cause the problem and rebalanced them twice. It was a Lexus main dealer that did the rears for me.
  2. So where are the photos of this great looking car?
  3. You are feeling the 'shudder' through the pedal or the whole car?
  4. Really? I didn't know this. So CT owners never have to change brakes? That is rather clever. Also, I have read that the most efficient way to drive in town is to accelerate relatively quickly and then coast rather than build up speed slowly? It seems to do with the fact that the car will then use more battery power cruising along than it would otherwise.
  5. Well that answers my question from the other thread Care to name the dealer involved? Always nice to hear which ones have been helpful.
  6. Wow, that is a great result Didn't think Lexus would even entertain the notion of replacing the wheels regardless of the problems. I forget, but did you buy the car from a main dealer recently?
  7. Actually, I would assume that the body wiring would be same for both and only the dash loom would be different, but I am not sure.
  8. If your handy with a multi meter, you can try this for the rear demister: Other than that, you can see here that the wiring goes to the near side pillar, and there is a relay in the engine bay:
  9. You are probably better off just starting one thread with all your questions for now. You can always add some more later if you don't get many responses.
  10. Funnily enough, this happened to me a couple of months ago. When we had that couple of days of heavy rain, I came out twice to find my windows open. They were all open by different amounts as well. The thing is, this happened when my keys were on the side table untouched both times. It hasn't happened since though.
  11. Welcome Paul It is a good idea to check previous threads for answer, but don't be afraid to ask since the people on here are a helpful lot We also encourage pictures I never knew that Bristol was also a county, and it seems the forum software is the same.
  12. You use an Apple product to browse these forums?!??! No wonder you are having problems
  13. I assumed that without the nav unit the extra modules weren't fitted as standard? So you would need the gps module, reverse camera, ecu's etc..? It would be useful to see exactly how they do it, so please keep us posted if you do get any more info.
  14. Yep, as long as the car is less than 10 years old and has less than 140k miles on it at the start of the warranty period then it should be ok. Depending on the dealer they sometimes ask for it to go through a visual safety check first, but since you are getting yours serviced that will be taken care of either way. The details of the warranty are here: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranty-and-insurance/#LexusCareExtendedWarranty
  15. Interesting, but I thought it was also the hassle of all the various add-ons and sensors which are needed that didn't make the job worthwhile? I suppose if all you wanted was the nav function then the gps module would probably do, but once you get into the reversing camera, telephone, Mark Levinson stereo etc.. then it seems to get quite complicated.
  16. Well, if you have blown a fuse then something has gone on. Unfortunately, if you have checked the fuses and they are fine then it gets more tricky. Since the audio unit at the bottom is a separate item from the nav section, it is possible that something has happened to only the audio bit. To investigate further, you would probably have to take the unit out to see if there was power going to it. Surprisingly, compared to most cars it is actually quite easy to remove it.
  17. Welcome Ben. That is a lot of car for £300. What needs to be done? Another member from Hampshire. Seems there are a few of us on here.
  18. 12 years is quite some run, you must have been quite attached. Good to hear that it has been trouble free, which makes a nice change from all the threads about broken 220d's on here. £2k is a little on the low side, but unfortunately, that is what cap says they are worth these days trade. Mine is a similar value even though I have 130k but it is 2 years newer.
  19. To qualify for the warranty the car needs to be under 10 years old and must not have covered more than 140,000 miles. So, subject to a free visual safety check at the dealers, the car you are looking at can have the warranty. I highly recommend it too as mine has been excellent.
  20. Were you looking on the Autotrader phone app? My friend said a similar thing but it is a mistake as there is no 4 wheel drive IS300h in the UK. Also, I wouldn't class the IS as a smaller version of the GS. Personally I feel the GS is a step up in terms of quality and refinement over the IS. The interior of the GS especially feels like a much nicer place to be. If you are worried about running costs, then @ds001 makes a good suggestion regarding the warranty. Other than that, just drive it and enjoy the comfort and exclusivity
  21. The 450h's certainly command a hefty premium, don't they? That 450h has over 40k more miles and is less well spec'd but is still over £1500 more expensive. Although it is a dealer, so some of the cost will be associated with that.
  22. Was your car under warranty Paul? 28k isn't a lot for a wheel bearing, and since you can't prove it was caused by pot holes, I would argue the case for a parts failure. I hope £700 is the fitted price at least? Although it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't as it would be another example of ludicrous parts pricing from Lexus.
  23. That is very interesting. Although I am still surprised since it is quite possible to exceed £500,000 for a claim. For example, if a personal injury claim was made, or you were really unlucky and wrote off a McLaren P1 or LaFerrari (although if you managed to destroy one of those then you deserve a good spanking ). You have £500,000 deposited with the Accountant General? You must really hate Direct Line
  24. Unfortunately, the only method of updating it is to get a newer sat nav disc. As well as the updated maps, when you first insert the disc it runs a firmware update. For me the only significant difference was now being able to input destinations whilst moving. You can get the discs here cheaper than the dealer: https://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/ Alternatively, something like this will do if you only want a certain region: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Lexus-ORIGINAL-Update-Navi-Navigation-Satnav-DVD-E1F-2018-West-Europe-/182723552214?epid=756165352&hash=item2a8b2c23d6:g:myEAAOSwSypY-jBq
