    Carplan triplewax is good enough for me. I bought a 5 litre bottle from halfords on offer for £7.50 reduced from £12.50.

    I'm very surprised @ahmedali44 your 250 has not been recalled for the fuel sensor as it's only a year older than mine. The previous owner of my vehicle had it fixed 2014 according to the lexus records.

    I'm not 100% sure but apparently there is a possibility of bits of metal in the passenger airbag that could spray over the passenger in an accident. This is only what I've read online. I'm not taking any chances. I get my wife and any other passengers to sit in the back now.

    We are all in the same boat pal. I had the letter regarding airbag in June 2016 but heard nothing since. You should be able to get the fuel sensor done now though. Mine was done 2014 according to the service history check on the lexus website.

    About 25 bhp. Is200d is still the 2.2l but in a detuned and more reliable state.

    Well I ordered the cabin and air filter yesterday from lexus Birmingham. £40.50 with free delivery. Bit expensive I know They will be delivered Thursday but me and my wife will both out at work. Thankfully I had the option of click and collect at my local argos store that happens to be open until 8pm. I'll pop in after work on Thursday evening and collect them and fit them both when I arrive home. Should have them both fitted in 15 minutes tops 👍

    KN panel filter no thanks at £49 and reading the online reviews people have claimed they got oil on the maf sensor causing erratic idle. Free flowing they might be but surely they let more muck into the engine. I've decided to purchase the original set from lexus Birmingham ebay store.

    I've looked at lexus Birmingham ebay store and the air filter is £25 and the cabin filter is £15.

    I'm looking to fit a new air and cabin filter in my IS250 this weekend. Is it worth paying the £40 for the original filters? Looking on ebay I can get them from the likes of Croslands for about half the price. Anybody had experience of these cheaper filters? I'm not that fussed about the cabin filter but I hear the lexus air filter is very free flowing and worried the cheap air filters could be more restricted in terms of flow.

    What an excellent review and great pictures. Really enjoyed reading this. @dougie175 what is this 3is sound creator? I have the IS250 se-I and I'm looking to enhance the V6 sound more. I would be very interested in learning more about this.

    Probably why the crime rate is so high in London then. Police can't get to the scene in time 😄

    It's called the lexus nod. Every day on my way to work travelling along the A34 heading towards walsall I pass another lexus is250 travelling in the opposite direction and we always flash our lights and wave with a smile. Many times I've passed a lexus travelling in the opposite direction and exchanged a flash and a nod. You don't get that in a bmw or mercedes.

    Sounds dodgy to me and best to walk away. There are plenty of is250's out there for sale with genuine milage.

    Linas p are you sure you would want to make the motorway journey in a 220d? At least in the 250 it's a certainly you will reach your destination.

    Lovely cars in their day and almost certainly still the most reliable car on the road today.

    Anybody who has a car serviced at lexus that is not under warranty has more money than sence. I've just had a minor service at a local garage with extras including aircon regas, brake fluid flush and all caliper slide pins regressed and a new air and cabin filter for £189.

    Mine was a 2008. First owner had head gasket replaced under warranty. 68k later when I owned it the head gasket went again. Apart from the egr valve and dpf, the turbo wastegate stuck and the 5th injector causing plumes of black smoke it was a very reliable car during the 8 months I owned it.

    Currently own a lexus is250 and it's by far the best car I've ever owned and probably the best I ever will. It's one of lexus's finest. Previous cars. Is220d Bmw 328i ( now my wifes) Vauxhall astra 2.2 sri Bmw 320d Bmw 323i Ford Sierra sapphire cosworth 4×4 Ford Sierra xr4i Ford escort RS 2000 Ford fiesta XR2I Vauxhall nova gsi Vauxhall astra gsi Triumph dolomite sprint.

    I've tried the carplan super gloss too. A lot more expensive and to me it's no better than the spray n shine from home bargains. I suspect it may last a bit longer between washes though but nothing like the 12 months declared on the bottle.
