  1. About 3 or 4 washes before it needs another coat. It's a doddle to use. Just spray on and wipe off. It's surprising how such a cheap product can have such good results. It puts a lovely shine on the car.
  2. £1.99 from home bargains and it puts a lovely lasting shine on your motor 👍
  3. Lexus should do the right thing now it's decided to pull the plug on the turbo and introduce the awesome 350 to the uk. This car is a beast and will out perform most cars on uk roads today. Not only that it keeps the awesome V6 engine that makes the 250 such a fantastic car. The 350 in the uk would sell like hot cakes and I would be the first to buy.
  4. 250 is still a far superior car though despite being SLIGHTLY slower. The 250 was never supposed to be a performance car unlike the 200t that simply isn't quick enough for its class. People buying 2 litre turbo vehicles are looking for quick acceleration and power. The 200t simply does not deliver. Nobody wants to buy it in the uk and that's why lexus have give it neck.

Hey. Nice car. Welcome to the lexus owners club 😀
  6. Yeah but a snail for a modern 2 litre turbo. Infact I can't think of a slower 4 pot turbo. To say it's quite a bit quicker than my 250 is total garbage. I've drove both and it's slightly quicker.
  7. I think you'll find your turbo wastegate is stuck. I had the the same problem with my is220d. I'm sorry to have to say this but the lexus is220d is a total ball ache. It was one problem after another during my short ownership. Best thing I ever did was trade it in.
  8. Same wheels as me bobmc. G spiders. I had mine refurbished and finished in gunmetal. May go for black next time though.
  9. Fair play to you for having a crack. Not something I would take on as its far too time consuming and tricky. I had all 4 refurbished just after xmas for just £208. £52 a wheel. They did a cracking job and still look brand new 6 months on.
  10. At the end of the day it's not hard to see why lexus have decided to pull the plug on the is200t in the uk. The majority of people looking to buy a 2 litre turbo charged vehicle are looking for a powerful and rapid car. The lexus turbo simply does not cut the mustard compared to the majority of 4 pot turbos available today. Nobody wants it. Yes sure it's quicker than the 250 but for a modern 2 litre turbo its a snail.
  11. Have to disagree with you on that one noby76. Ive owned a variety of motors over the years and none of them sound as good as the lexus V6. You've got to push it though to hear it and when it roars up it turns heads. My wife's bmw is a properly quick car but sounds no nowhere near as nice as the lexus. Now the old bmw 328i with the 2.8 litre inline 6 cylinder engine was a superb sounding motor. Much much nicer than the 2 litre turbo charged engine that is still badged as a 328i for some reason.
  12. Not the impression I got when I drove the turbo for the day. Despite its healthy power ratings, the IS 200t felt oddly slow in acceleration for a 4 pot turbo.my wife's 328i (2 litre turbo) will beat it to 60 mph by a pretty wide margin.
  13. I think by the time they get round to replacing the airbags all the cars affected will be classics.
  14. Lexus are only intrested in hybrids these days. Surprised to see the turbo being dropped so early though as it's only been in the uk a year. Lexus have made some excellent petrol engine vehicles and the turbo is one of the best ( although I prefer the 250) but it's horses for courses. Hybrids definitely not my cup of tea. I'm perfectly happy with my 250 and plan on keeping it until it eventually gives up the ghost and when that day comes I'll be buying a bmw.
  15. Sorry bud but I can't help with the cause but it seems like a common problem on the usa forums and even some of the reviews state problems with the touchscreen in earlier models. Pre 2008 i think I read.
  16. I know what you mean linas p, I didn't like the sound the 200t made when I test drove it. That's why I bought the is250 as the v6 growl is a delight to hear. And the fact it saved me £7000. 200t definitely felt quicker though but not particularly quick for a 2 litre turbo. Didn't like the lag either especially from a standing start. The is250 launches like a rocket and would make a quicker initial start over the turbo but by 60mph the 200t would be several car lengths ahead and making fast gains.
  17. According to that list the is250 has a top speed of 225 mph or am I reading it wrong😕
  18. I got to test drive the 200t at lexus Wolverhampton before purchasing my is250. Although it dosnt look much quicker on paper than the is250 the 200t certainly feels much quicker on the road. It would leave the 250 for dust. Definitely not as quick as my wife's bmw 328i though with its 2 litre twin turbo.
  19. I've seen the youtube videos doug. Looks like half the engine has to be removed and knowing my luck I'll balls it up. Got a couple of years before I need new plugs thankfully but I think I'll be putting my hands in my pockets for this one.
  20. I'm on my second lexus now. I'm no mechanic but from the advice given on this forum I've done some basic maintenance jobs. Cleaned egr valve and changed pads all round on the previous is220d. On the 250 I've changed oil and filter. Fitted new pads all round with new discs on front. Fitted new air and cabin filter. Changed brake fluid and coolant. That's about my limit. Not even going to attempt the 60k spark plug change as it looks very time consuming. This job was a doddle on my vauxhall astra. 20 mins and job done.
  21. I've seen a couple of is250's on my travels with aftermarket exhaust's fitted and the twin round pipes suit the car so much better than the stock ovals. I'm looking for a new system myself. Mainly to bring out the V6 growl more as with the standard exhaust you need to floor it to hear it.
  22. Uniroyal rainsport tyres are the only tyres I buy these days. Can't recommend them highly enough. Not too hard on the wallet either. Superb in the wet and just as good in the dry. Hardly any road noise either.
  23. Sorry bud can't help with a breaker in the Dorset area. A very nice example you have there. Can I just ask what exhaust system you have fitted? I much prefer your round pipes to the standard oval pipes fitted on mine.
  24. Sounds like your power steering is on the way out jack. Probably a worn belt. Wheel bearings are another possibility.
