  1. As far as performance goes the is250 is surprisingly quick off the mark. Forget the claimed 8.4 seconds, it's a good second quicker. However I find mid range disappointing. From say 30-50 /50-70 I found my previous is220d had much more punch to it and would easily beat the 250 when overtaking but the slow kickdown on the 250 is mostly to blame for this.
  2. Lexus is250 very uneconomical around town especially in cool conditions. I'm averaging 23 mpg on my daily 10 mile trip to work and back. However on a good motorway run at steady speeds low 40's can be easily acheived. As mentioned is250 has little poke but sounds lovely. Nobody buys the car for performance or fuel economy. They buy it because it's a lexus. Nobody gives bmw or mercedes a second look these days but a lexus catches the eye.
  3. Got my letter this morning and I was straight on the blower to lexus Wolverhampton. I'm booked in for Friday morning 11.30am
  4. It's got the 18 rims but mines white. I very often see you driving about. I'll give you a flash next time I see you .
  5. Rebecca I wouldn't say it accelerates much quicker than official figures but it's definitely quicker. About 7.7 seconds. With your car being an f-sport the V6 sound will be a lot more pronounced due to the air intake and exhaust.
  6. It actually kicked off talking about the maf. Your the only one talking about the map.
  7. I was told the maf on modern cars is self cleaning. When engine is turned on high volts are sent to the wire to burn off any crap.
  8. Hi I'm just 5 mins down the road from you in cannock and I've seen you driving around on several occasions. Muckly corner, eastern avenue and the A5 near Brownhills to name a few.
  9. The car pulls strongly in 6th from 50mph Are you sure about that? The is220d mpg is absolutely terrible. I'm actually getting better mpg in my is250 than I got with the 220d and that's with a far more powerful 6 cylinder V6 engine.
  10. It's only an oil change and a few checks. I'm sure they'll be able to do that.
  11. I had exactly the same problem with the bonnet. Couldn't get it to shut for love nor money. I called out the rac and it was sorted in 15 minutes.
  12. I had a few problems with the is220d but I really did like the car and enjoyed driving it. The gearbox took a bit of getting used to but yoy simply adjust your driving style to suit. It previously belonged to my dad who's in his 70s and he drove it 3 or 4 times a week on short trips to the shops and visiting family. Not good for a diesel as these need regular good runs.
  13. Lol jack you must have stopped for a few tea breaks if it took you all day 😅
  14. I have an se-I 2010. It has no mark levinson but has the sat nav. Not sure if the sat nav is fitted as standard or was fitted as an optional extra.
  15. £78 for front pads is daylight robbery. You can get the pagid for around £30 and they are as good as anything.
  16. As you may of read I've recently changed my front pads and discs. I fitted brembo discs and pagid pads bought from euro car parts. With the 30% discount online I paid £93. How cheap is that? My brakes have never felt so good.
  17. Looking forward to seeing an IS-F in the flesh instead of having to drool over pictures of them.
  18. To be fair jack next time you do the job you'll have done in half the time. Surprised you had to push the pistons back unless you fitted new pads.
  19. Sorry but you won't find any lexus agents here but you don't need to worry because you can drive your car in France with no problems or adjustment needed.
  20. I'll inspect the calipers again in 6 months time and if the pace rc7 grease isn't up to the job I'll get some toyota red.
  21. I simply used the same grease I use in my mountain bike suspension forks. It's made by a company called pace. It states on the tub that it is safe on rubber. I also greased the rear pins this weekend and they were very close to being totally seized. I got them out with a bit of effort and greased them up. It's very important to keep on top of this as my is250 has just 25k on the clock. If I had left it any longer they would have seized solid. Very easy job and had both the rears sorted in around 40 minutes.
  22. I guarantee that if you clean your egr valve it will feel so much better. I fitted a kn panel filter and used bp ultimate diesel and found this improved low end grunt but not massively.
  23. I'm sorry to say bud but even a healthy is220d will suffer massive turbo lag. All turbo diesel cars have lag but nothing like the lexus. If your turbo is kicking in at 2500 rpm something is wrong. You should feel it boost around 1800 rpm. I had exactly the same problem. I cleaned out my egr valve and instantly the problem was fixed. It's a piece of cake to take it out and clean it yourself. Give it a try, you may be surprised.
  24. I wouldn't worry about the water pump too much. Only problem your likely to encounter is sticking calipers, especially the rear. It's a doddle to grease them up yourself though and dosnt take long. Apart from that your very unlikely to encounter any other problems.
