  1. I will be trading in my is250 in the summer for my first ISF. for me it's 70% it hits 60 in 4.5 seconds. 30% because it's a lexus.
  2. Well I've been running a k&N panel filter for the last 5 days and to be fair it has made no difference at all in response or induction sound. One thing I have noticed is when stationery I get a rough idle on the rev counter. Probably the maf picking up the oil on the filter. I switched back to the OEM filter this afternoon and it's stopped the erratic idle.
  3. I've ordered myself a set of original lexus front brake pads from lexus Birmingham. They will be fitted next weekend and i will post back with the results Twice the price of the pagid pads I have now but hopefully they will reduce the brake grunt.
  4. The is250 is a fantastic motorway cruiser and returns impressive mpg. Not good around town in stop/traffic but you have to expect this from a heavy car with a 2.5 litre petrol engine.
  5. I'm pretty sure we have the g spiders bob. Mine are not in the best condition to be fair. The rears are ok bur the fronts are bubbling up as lexus wheels commonly do. When I can get the time off work I'll be having all four refurbished and possibly painted black as I really think they would suit the white car.
  6. I know what you mean wisty. When your driving a car with a 2.5 litre V6 engine and over 200 galloping horses it's very hard to resist the temptation. Well worth the extra couple of quid or so in fuel every week 👍
  7. I've got to admit Yorkie your car looks terrific. Absolutely stunning.
  8. I've been busy this afternoon. Slapped some grease on the front and rear pins in the hope it would make a difference. Sadly it didn't 😔 but it's good maintenance anyway. Might swap the pagid pads for the OEM or just live with it. As I said the brakes are absolutely fine.
  9. Same here John, I'm lucky to see 30mpg but then again I don't exactly drive like a granny on a Sunday morning drive to church. The is250 has power and I like to use it but I'm sure if I changed my driving style I could easily break the 40mpg barrier.
  10. Even with the original lexus pads fitted I still got brake groan but about 5 weeks ago I fitted new front pads and discs. Brembo discs and pagid pads. The brake groan is definitely louder with this set up. The pins got well greased so it's not that. I'm guessing it's the pagid pads. Now don't get me wrong the brakes work absolutely fine but it would be nice to eliminate the groan.
  11. Any is250 owners suffer brake groan when say inching forward at the lights or at a junction? Apparently it's quite normal for an automatic but I find mine to be quite loud. Is this normal or could there be something more sinister going on?
  12. Johnatg I'll give the other key fob a try. My fob is on a big bunch of keys so I'll take it off and see if that helps.
  13. I've only had my is250 around 5 months and today I put the 6th battery in the keyfob. Even with fresh batteries fitted I get the message in the display, low key battery. Any ideas what's causing this?
  14. I'm almost certain it's rust or dirt on the hubs. They really do Have to be spotlessly clean before fitting new discs. Even the smallest amount will quickly warp your discs.
  15. These cars are an absolute nightmare and nothing but trouble and an embarrassment to lexus. The sooner they are all off the road the better. I had a variety of problems with mine and after many trips to the garage and spending a fortune in repairs I threw in the towel and traded it in for the is250. Now this car really is a lexus. It's not just better it's light years ahead.
  16. The lexus is250 is an extremely reliable and comfortable car to drive and looks good too. I find the car to be very thirsty but with a 2.5 litre v6 engine you expect it. Low 20's around town and mid 30's on a good run with light throttle. Plant the right foot and mpg drops significantly. It's quick off the mark with ect on but feels underpowered mid range and has a slow witted gearbox but you can overcome this by using the paddles or stick. Would be nice if the car had an extra 30 or so horses but it was never meant to be a sports car. It's a cruiser. The v6 sound when pushed sounds awesome.
  17. I'm considering putting a performance panel filter such as a kN or pipercross into my is250. Has anybody else here tried this? did it make any difference in sound or power.
  18. Followed a white lexus is 250 f sport 2011 reg this afternoon driven by a female like a bat out of hell from hay on wye into hereford.
  19. Lay off the baked beans 😂
  20. £700 for a replacement headlight? What an absolute rip off I had a new cylinder head gasket replaced in my old is220d for less money. Try a scrapyard.
  21. Lexus is250 will easily keep up with bmw 325i with the actual 2.5l engine but the newer 325i with 3 litre engine will have a slight advantage. And yes the online reviews comparing the is250 against the is350 and 4 pot turbos do the car no justice.
