  1. No, but conversely I don't have the funds lying around to purchase a service pack this year. Did a quick scoot round for costs: Opie will do an oil change bundle for £65 inc oil & filter, which means I'll save myself £110 on the service alone. Plus I think I'll chuck in a K&N high flow panel filter at the same time. Which will be nice.
  2. So, I've had the email talking about my ISF needing a minor service. Obviously I'd like to minimise the expenditure despite the stated £295 being reasonable. The local main dealer will use my oil / filter so long as it's the right spec. So the question to the masses; what brand have people been using? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-2355-lookup-results.aspx?vehicleid=7206&variantlist=144294:0,157966:0,157967:0,157968:0,157969:0,157970:0,157971:0,144294:0,157966:0,157967:0,157968:0,157969:0,157970:0,157971:0&yearFilter=2010 Now, to confuse things, Lexus state they use 0W-30, but the link above which is model specific links to a range of 5W-30. Suggestions?
  3. Think it would take me a while to pay off the cost of the extra alloys in lieu of someone changing the tyres. Worst comes to worst, I take the car to Lexus for the switch over.
  4. I'm an even further north monkey and while today was the first morning that fell into the right climatic conditions for winters, I'm not going to make the move yet. The temp has to be below 7C consistently for it to be worth the switch over. I have a pile to winters in bags in my basement ready to go. Can't remember the make, but they're standard size and only been used for 2 seasons. They came with the car. Soon ..... but not quite yet. I also need to find a local tyre place that will do the switch for a reasonable cost and not bugger up the alloys
  5. This post has some photos of the custom exhaust on my steed. Probably a bit too far north for the OP though.
  6. Seen another black one a couple of times here in Edinburgh. And one day by chance looked out the window of my office in out-of-town office park outside Glasgow, to see a Sonic Blue ISF getting some lunch.
  7. So does that mean that the later cars simply have a 'Snow' button where the previous rocker switch is?
  8. I so need to get my front end resprayed; currently looks like it's been in a sandstorm. Incidentally, why does your steeringwheel not have the distance adjuster bottom right? You've got a Sport button, mine has an adjuster for the cruise control following distance.
  9. My thoughts exactly. Likelihood of actually needing an LSD - slim. Likelihood of needing all my vertebrae to be working (exaggeration I know) - much greater.
  10. This is a pertinent difference for the pre / post 2010 discussion. Pre has the harder suspension and no LSD, Post has updated / softer suspension and the LSD. Question is which would you value more?
  11. Yup, had the letter a couple of weeks ago. Phoned the dealership yesterday to enquire as to progress and was told what others have indicated here. There is nothing to do until we get another letter, which will be an invite to book the car in for the fix. That letter will be triggered by the arrival in the UK of the mythical replacement parts that don't yet exist. When will our cars be fixed, who knows.
  12. Just had a look online, and I can only see Pagid discs. Am I looking somewhere odd for Brembos
  13. Fair point. It just seemed that there was little overlap in the discussions from either continent (wouldn't be the first time).
  14. Do people this side of the pond have any views about drilled vs slotted discs? Our US brethren seem to have come to a conclusion that drilled are less preferable than slotted.
  15. If you get a quote, post it up on here if you don't mind. Mine looks like someone has taken a blunderbuss to it. To be fair, most of the chips are on the plastic bumper, but there are a few on the bonnet and wings. I just know I'm going to have to get the front end re-done at some point, but (identically to Stuno1) my Lotus had the front end done when brand new, before I collected it, and it made the world of difference.
  16. On a normal day, heading to EuroCentral, through the crazy roadworks, for about 0800-0830. I head out again at 1600 on the nose making a bee-line for Edinburgh. 65 miles a day.
  17. Age: 38 Occupation: Environmental Regulator (flooding) in Scotland Mission: To not own a 'normal' car, so far I've succeeded with a Lotus Elise S and put 15k on in a year, then an S4, but before these I had a Defender 90 TD5, a TDV8 RR-S, and XC-70 and an Impreza GB270. Plus my wife's town car is a Discovery 4.
  18. One more from these here forum pages: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172269307905
  19. So did you have 20% on, and then had them changed to 35%, or did you just go on gut feel. I will admit that the 20% on the Disco 4 was quite a well lit cabin to start with, despite the black cloth interior. With ours being black / black with black, it may get a little claustrophobic with 20%. However, it's the only one I have experience of.
  20. I was planning on going for the 20% light transmission version, like I had done before. I think 5% is too much, but am not convinced by the 35% version. 55% I see as a waste of time / money.
  21. Opinions please on window tints for a black/black ISF.
  22. Without going to the webpage, how does this work? Is it time, mileage or number of services based? My reasoning being that if you do 5k a year and it's yearly you will get a services each year for 3 years having covered 15k miles. My side of things could be 15k a year, so does it work on the same 3 services (once a year for 3yrs), or will it be a service every 10k miles? In which case I'll get one service in yr 1, and 2 in year 2.
  23. I wonder whether this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231651333795?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Would do the same job at potentially lesser expense.
