  1. I believe one can reduce the volume of the beep (at least on later models) in 3 steps via the multimedia interface but not silence it completely, which IMHO would be a bad idea..
  2. Hi Chi (or is it Bill?) welcome to the forum. Are we to assume you are talking about the GS450h? Have you tried searching YouTube, usually many helpful videos on many things like this request. May one ask, why do you feel the need to 'clean the motor' ?
  3. If the tyre pressures are correct and you have followed the instructions in the handbook and the light still does not extinguish I would say you have a malfunction and you need to get the codes read
  4. Have a read of this long but hilarious account of "Agent Picolax" 🤣🤣 https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/agent-picolax.17768540/
  5. Ouch!! Hope all goes well and relatively painless with a good outcome. Sorry, that came out wrong..no, no, what I meant to say..... 😉😄 All the best Piers 👍
  6. Yes, more likely to be operator induced damage but we have had post regarding screens going black with no user abuse?
  7. I've found setting the fader to favour the rear does make a difference to the 'fullness' of the sound stage, even though I never sit in the back!
  8. Interesting that in the exclusions section the multimedia screen and buttons are listed. Also springs appear in both the included and excluded sections? https://www.lexus.co.uk/content/dam/lexus/nmsc/united-kingdom/owners/warranty/extended-warranty-with-servicing/Lexus-Warranty-TCs-06-2022.pdf
  9. I was given an NX as a courtesy car recently and whilst reversing into my usual parking spot at work the BRAKE warning appeared and I also thought "Nah, plenty of room" when Bang! Oh crap what have I hit.... But no, the car simply applied full brakes and stopped us dead well clear of the hedge behind. When I got out I thought I would have normally parked a tad closer in my RC but then realise the NX had a rear hatch and the car simply stopped far enough away to allow it to safely swing open. Impressive stuff Still, was a bit shocking initially
  10. It just illustrates how Lexus (and ML) spec the system and provide a full sound. Besides there is nowhere the place speakers in the rear, unless you go for the sides of the load area? Perhaps a visit to an auto electrician might shed some light on your options?
  11. Is it?? I have taken out a new 3yr plan and there is no mention of being linked to any specific dealership. In fact the T&Cs state- ii. Contract means this contract between the Customer and the Manufacturer whereby the Manufacturer agrees to pay for the Services subject always to these Terms and Conditions. iii. Customer means the person named as such on the front page of this Contract. iv. Centre means a motor vehicle repairer located in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands which is party to an Authorised Repairer agreement with the Manufacturer relating to Toyota cars and light commercial vehicles.
  12. Lexus do show service costs on their website, IS, NX, RC, ES £290 / £550 (Intermediate/Full) and one can get an online quote by imputing one's registration number
  13. Does it just show the location the last time the phone was connected to the car? As in, when you parked up?
  14. Your profile shows as not in the UK, whereabouts are you? Clearly something is draining the 12v when the vehicle is locked/not used. This is a plug-in, so do you leave it plugged in when not used for 2 days? The 12v will be recharged every time the car is used/in the Ready state/left plugged in. As the car is new and under warranty leave it to the dealership to sort out. Request a courtesy car whilst they test it.
  15. Did you report the theft to the Police and inform your insurers? How far did the 'thief' take it before abandoning it, presumably waiting to see if it had a tracker fitted? The garage (Lexus dealership?) are to re-secure it. How? Presumably they must know something to be able to do that. Have they not said what they are doing and at what cost to you?
  16. I've never done this and I have never had a smelly aircon either. That said I never turn off the a/c either, summer or winter. Personally I'd check the central a/c drain isn't blocked and also check the condition of the cabin air filter(s)
  17. The owner's handbook (page 798 ) suggests the global opening of the windows and moon roof when unlocking the doors is a customisation feature that must be enabled by the dealership. One can choose between having the moon roof open either slide or tilt as well. I had this function enabled on collection of my RC (I can't choose the moon roof variables though) Have a word with your dealership, they can enable it prior to collection
  18. Wow! Great you are now out of hospital, hopefully well on the way to full health. After a year of no use I would think your traction battery is also completely discharged?
  19. Black cars show dirt easily, end of really.. To make it easier to clean, get it professionally detailed/paint corrected and then ceramic coated. Not cheap but dirt will wash off much more easily. Apply a secondary wax coat and then wipe the car down each day with a good detailing spray to keep the dust off. (as long as it doesn't rain) Oh and stay away from those hand/auto washes if you want to keep a shine on it. Black cars are hard work
  20. Surely with the transmission in P the parking pawl will be engaged and so the car cannot move. There may be a very small amount of movement as the pawl engages the toothed cog but it would be inches at the most. I think the handbook means if one moves from P to D or R and the parking brake isn't applied the car could move?
  21. See what the ML option adds, maybe follow their example? https://www.marklevinson.com/in-lexus.html#nx
