  1. Sorry to hear of your woes. First question. Who did the diagnosis and repair? If it was a garage then it needs to go back for them to sort it. Secondly, where is the coolant spraying from?
  2. I think that is an unnecessary worry. I suspect that more Golf's are stolen than Lexus because they are easier to part out etc, and more of them around to create a demand for cheap spares.
  3. The panoramic roof on the series 3 is a fixed affair, unlike the later gen 4 cars
  4. Well this morning I went to check my oil and top up the windscreen washers. I noticed a plastic cap was off the small reservoir on the rear nearside of the radiator which I then realised was the engine coolant reservoir. This was completely empty. Rang Lexus Cheltenham who advised topping it up (took 1pint to half fill). Quick trip to Cheltenham car checked and no sign of leaking but reservoir now nearly full. Strongly suspect that 4 weeks ago when car at dealers for replacement grill component the cap was not fitted back properly when the front of the car was removed. The tank isn't pressurised so some water may have been lost, but apparently the cold level is normally only just above the minimum line and there may have been air in the system after the water pump was replaced last year. As usual Cheltenham Lexus Service was excellent.
  5. I had a 2015 pre face-lift GS300h Luxury which was a beautiful car both comfort wise and extremely economical. I changed to an RX because I needed to cart around a pushchair etc for a new granddaughter and putting the baby in the RX is easier. Definitely try the GS you will hardly notice any difference in performance compared with the IS300h
  6. I have owned both a 2014 IS300h f sport and a 2015 RX450h Advance. The RX450h wins hands down for comfort and quiet (especially if running on Michelin Cross Climates) but the running costs are in a different league, so that is something to think about (60000 miles service is over £700 and a water pump replacement (Toyota weakness) is around a grand). Fuel consumption on the RX is around the 33mpg figure.
  7. Or get them repaired which is probably the best and cheapest option -I know you are in Leicester but' Reinventing the wheel in Tewkesbury' does all the work for our local Lexus Dealer . They did a goodwill refurb paid for by Lexus on the Diamond cut wheels on my last RX450H This is what they say about damaged wheels' Wheel Straightening Service Out of shape wheels will not only destroy your tyres but the vibrations can cause serious damage to both the steering and suspension components of your vehicle. In their worst form they will not hold air or lose air rapidly. We use safe and effective wheel straightening techniques to return misshapen wheels to a state that they can be successfully balanced, normally the same day.'
  8. I have a downloaded brochure circa 2014 and there is nothing like it there. Perhaps it was a special order?
  9. Had a 2015 luxury and it was a wonderful car. Put it on Michelin Primacy 4's and they were the business.
  10. Sure the diesels wouldn't fare much better. I do mixed town and rural and my last tankful my RX450h averaged 38.6mpg, so I would hope that the IS300h would do better in the winter . I'm sure my 2014 f sport version bettered 33mpg in town. I can't remember the figures but I'm sure I posted some on the IS part of the forum.
  11. I'm not that familiar with the Lake District. Usually pass by on way to Scotland and stop at Carlisle on the way up, then drive up the back road to Moffat and on to Kenmore where we usually stay. This year though we are taking the Grandson and are overnighting in Cockermouth with a second stop at Loch Lomond to be tourists 😂
  12. I would think that you should get a little better than 33mpg especially as hybrids like town driving. If consumption is important then have you considered a CT or a UX. I have had both as loan cars and both are very economical especially if your budget stretches to a UX. Good Luck in your quest
  13. Well David it looks quite narrow so I'm going to try the bluebird lake - Coniston
  14. Well today I did a round trip Gloucester to Shrewsbury and back. Between Cheltenham and Worcester on the M5 I saw 1 brand new Bentley convertible and 2 Rolls Royce Cullinans. On the return journey I saw another Rolls Cullinan and a beautiful Ferrari both in metallic blue. Who said that there's no money around...
  15. That looks fantastic. I see it has a 'Pixie' registration so presumably in view of the picture location it is a Woodland PX1 🌲🌲🌲🌲
  16. Having just driven on the M5 from Yate to Gloucester there is fat chance of that happening any time 🔜😢
  17. Michelin Cross Climates are the business. Had them on my 2015 RX450h over 20,000 plus miles. Sadly not available for my current RX😭
  18. Splitter is aftermarket. When I bought my 2014 IS300h f sport in 2016 I downloaded the f sport information which may help you Here it is 😊 2f1ESdG.pdf
  19. I would call it the number plate / registration plate plinth.
  20. If the car has the panoramic sunroof it might be blocked drainage tubes. Definitely a case of getting it into the dealers pronto.
  21. Stretch nylon covers are easily washed - But don't forget the earth strap to disperse the static⚡⚡⚡
  22. I must admit to using the technology to park squarely, especially when parking in bays where there are only white lines at either end .The 'bird's-eye' view camera is ideal for checking that the car is fully in the bay as it tends to overhang in a lot of standard size parking bays (think I read somewhere that the newer RX will always stick out in a standard bay.).
  23. The gen 4 car is definitely better on fuel than the gen 3. My 2015 gen 3 averaged 33.6 mpg over 34000 miles
  24. According to my phone app Since November I have averaged 36.6mpg in my 2017 Premier. This is over 4,000 miles.
