  1. I'd buy the warranty because 1)You have 2 years full AA cover 2) There is MoT cover and I think one of them is included in the cost. 3) As you correctly say it is a very complex car. 4) If you pay monthly and don't make a claim you will be refunded part of the money already paid (from personal experience).
  2. No for a small boys birthday 🎂 Location was in Minchinhampton. Then drove across the common for a coffee at The Old Lodge.
  3. They are superb on gen 3 cars. Sadly not available for the later version
  4. I stand corrected on this one. I know my 2015 GS Luxury didn’t have road sign recognition although it had blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic assist and premium navigation. My current RX450h sometimes comes up with spurious speeds, I've seen 120 at times. My satnav doesn't show speed limits, fortunately my tomtom is there as a backup.
  5. Think on the GS it doesn't have road sign recognition but uses sat nav mapping
  6. With rear vision have you just considered behaving like a van driver and using the outside mirrors? (Yorkie bar optional)
  7. The snow mode worked very well this time last year when I had to collect a cake from a hilly and snowy location.
  8. You will need to pair the phone via Bluetooth (remove the old one first to keep things tidy) and then you will get an option to download your phone book. It is fairly straightforward just follow the instructions.
  9. Yes Series 3 cars do suffer with torque steer before the traction control snaps in. Michelin cross climates certainly helped when I had mine. It will be of no consolation for me to tell you my series 4 car is less skittish as it is like yours on Bridgestone Duelers.
  10. N Yes but surely there are generators in the brakes. As I understand it all hybrids need a total lift to recover. When many moons ago I was in the police Austin Allegros needed a total lift for a different reason. If towed they bent in the middle 🍌
  11. Good honest review. Mpg is roughly what I got with my 2015. Agree about the looks of the 4th gen car, but it is a huge improvement mpg wise. I miss the looks of the gen 3 car, but the rest of it is more up to date. There were a lot of things on the old car that were way behind other models in the range. My pre face-lift 2015 GS300h,was far more advanced eg being able to lock and unlock the car by touching the rear door handles, rear cross traffic alert, auto door locks and many more. The gen 4 car has got these refinements and you now know which tyre is soft! Admittedly I now have a Premier spec car which has a lot more kit than my previous Advance. Please keep us up to speed with your car.
  12. Try moving the rear seats into a different position on the forward to rearward adjustment. Seem to recollect that being mentioned on the forum previously. Oh and another issue which has been mentioned recently on the NX forum is the rear number plate causing a knocking noise at certain speeds. The member concerned had stripped out the interior trim before someone suggested that simple remedy.
  13. 'Z3 allthough sexy at the time a bit skitish for the middle aged gent, heres hoping I wont be dissapointed, being a huge Lexus fan I doubt I will! Thanks Neil!!' Done the Z3 thing some years ago - Limited edition 1999 Orinoco 2.8 wide body with the later twin vanos engine. Skittish isn't the word..... a real brute of a car. I did consider a Z3m but too many vanos and spot weld issues (although the 2.8's were also capap ble of pulling themselves apart. By the way the car was factory standard spec. The only non M car to have clear front and rear indicators.
  14. The video was deleted immediately after I viewed it strangely 🤔 In the video was 🌲🌲🌴🌴🌲🌲 and a blue oval car from Dagenham. There was also the name of something bigger than a molehill, but smaller than a mountain
  15. My daughter once broke a heated mirror in a Corsa. I got a replacement glass and upon reaching home as I got out of my car the thing somehow slid out of the cardboard box and smashed on my driveway 😭😭😭 Cost me £100 for the two replacements.. and that was 15 years ago
  16. I suppose to avoid the cost of replacement batteries for the sender units, but Is that not an MOT issue??
  17. I was involved in an accident 3 years ago and my IS300h needed recovery. Despite Lexus Desk at the AA knowing this a van was sent and it took just under 5 hours on the road side in the middle of nowhere before a flatbed arrived.
  18. Haven't yet worked out where all the wind turbines and solar farms will be to generate The electricity (I bought some shares in a solar farm coop about 6 years ago and the dividends are so good I've nearly got my original investment back, albeit it was only a couple of hundred quid). I was at South Gloucestershire Council Offices on Monday when a visitor arrived in an electric Citroën for a meeting. He was in a panic as he'd forgotten to charge his car and didn't have enough energy to go any further. Fortunately they had a charger suitable for him to use so he could get home at the end of the day. All their pool cars are electric and I visit there twice a week on average. Nearly every visit there are issues with staff members forgetting to charge the cars and the next user being inconvenienced. 21st Century Problems eh🤣🤣
  19. I personally would steer clear of messing with mirrors if the dealer will do it cheaply. If you break something you'll possibly need a mortgage...
  20. The clue is in the video, the name of the garage is on the video on the top of a big doorway driving from one part of the workshop into a second area.
  21. My car being a used premier has most of the gizmos and gadgets. Certainly I love the HUD. Not sure what you get in the safety pack, but I have rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring, together with 360% camera. If I had to choose just between HUD or 360 % camera the camera would win hands down, as it makes parking really easy.
  22. Or Cheltenham. I have used them since 2016 and for service they are excellent. I always get 15% club discount. Don’t book it in with Central booking, but ask to speak to Mike, Alec or Sam in Cheltenham Lexus. I saved £111 on my last big service on my 2015 RX last year
  23. Depends on your mile. I've tried it in the past with Ford and because of my high mileage and changing car regularly I didn't get the full benefit. Now I don't bother and my dealer in Cheltenham gives me 15% club discount which is great(saved £111)on my last (Big) service on my 2015 model. Bet you will be poring over YouTube and the Lexus website until it arrives 👍👍
