  1. Just blown £929 into my wife's 2015 fiat 500 with 17000 miles. MOT, major service with cambelt change (required after 4years). Oh there was an advisory on front tyres so I decided to fit Michelin Cross Climates all round which accounted for £360. My last 2015 RX450h cost £695 for the big 60000 service. Funny how all cars these days seem to cost similar amounts to maintain
  2. If you want a nice spec model then consider the limited edition advance. The only issue on later ones is corrosion on diamond cut wheels. Lexus paid for mine to be refurbished as a goodwill gesture and I managed to get my dealers refurb company to powder coat them in a chrome look grey much like f sport wheels.
  3. Spark plugs will be due every 60,000 miles so yes is the answer. If you can find a good 450h Within budget I would go for it as will be that much more up to date technically. Having said that the condition of the car would be my first consideration. Always remember that expensive cars were expensive to repair when new and that doesn't tend to diminish with age
  4. Everything was replaced apart from the actual water pump itself including the ancillaries belt. Interestingly the cost of the work including MOT was not far short of the 60,000 mile service on my last RX450h, which just goes to show how all manufacturers fund the small profit margins on new car sales with the cost of parts (and I did get a discount on both parts and labour).
  5. Servicing is a strange beast. We have a 65 plate Fiat 500.we bought it 2 years old with 3000 miles freshly serviced. For first 2 years we had it the supplying garage did a basic service as it covered less than 5000 miles a year.. On Friday at 17000 miles we decided it needed a big service as at 4 years old it required a cambelt. The garage we use is a small Fiat dealer which is family run. They clearly previously marked the service book as annual services. They quoted for a water pump (which I was Happy to pay for). When I collected the car they said the pump was perfect so hadn't changed it. Lexus Approved cars need to be checked thoroughly for service history and I must admit any future purchases will involve buying a car that has a full history available from the supplying dealer.

  7. Just a 'Heads Up' that this promotion starts on Monday at participating dealers.Well worth investigating if you need tyres in the next 2 months. My local tyre dealer Chris Mullins in Gloucester is doing the promotion, as are Protyre (Un) Fortunately my wife's Fiat 500 was MOT'd yesterday and has advisories on tyre wear for the fronts. She only does 3-5,00 miles a year trubndling the grandkids around and I was going to put a set of medium priced all weather tyres on it (Nexen , Yokahoma or Pirelli), but Chris is doing the Michelins for £90 each (cheaper than Black Circle) and with the £25 cashback I am more than happy to pay the extra for the known quality of Cross Climates (had them on my last RX gen 3 and they were fabulous. The Promotion will issue a prepaid Mastercard or a direct bank transfer to the value of: £10 for two or £25 for four 14” and 15” MICHELIN car, van or 4x4 tyres purchased, £15 for two or £40 for four 16” MICHELIN car, van or 4x4 tyres purchased, £20 for two or £50 for four 17” and 18” MICHELIN car, van or 4x4 tyres purchased £40 for two or £100 for four 19”
  8. I owned the gti version. White with a 'tea tray' rear spoiler and a lovely navy blue velour interior. Very advanced cars. I suspect they went conventional to reduce costs. Changing a wheel was a doddle with the hydropneumatic suspension.
  9. Highly unlikely to be a retro fit option as there are cameras in the grill and both outside mirrors. It's the one feature I would miss as my car port is very tight ( as Barry points out) and the extra dimensions over my 3rd Gen car does make a difference.
  10. Or to avoid any new fangled dance music type thing I would consider a vinyl wrap 🎶🎶🎶😎
  11. The initial Ved as I understand it doesn't count because that is not the list price and is is an additional tax.
  12. Anything is possible... depends whether you are happy to spend the money on a car of that age or put the loot towards a car with it already fitted. 🤔
  13. Details are on home page in 'Gold Members' Section. Check that the dealer you are using subscribes to discount before you get there and get the name of that staff member.
  14. Pictures and full description required ASAP please 🔜
  15. I'm puzzled. You didn't buy the car from a Lexus Dealership and yet you are talking about Lexus declining a warranty claim for the light. A Lexus Approved used car warranty is of 12 months duration normally. Has your car got a third party or dealer warranty? Love to know the answer.
  16. Blissfully watching TV last night when I heard a car alarm activating. Extremely loud and very close. Suddenly realised it was my RX in the car port. Every light seemed to be flashing and it was like the end of the world. Managed to switch it off using the remote. Locked the car again and no further issue. Recently the neighbours at the bottom of our garden have acquired a cat who is adept at climbing on the roof of our bungalow and my wife has seen him on top of the car port and the 6 foot high wall that encloses it. Would a jumping cat be enough to trigger the alarm? The car port is totally enclosed with locked 6 foot high gates so an intruder of humankind is unlikely. Anyone got any ideas please?
  17. I suspect they drive the same. As you so rightly say very rare in Premier spec. My pre face-lift Luxury was better equipped than the post face-lift cars. It had rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring which was deleted on the later cars. If the Premier has ML I think it will be as the earlier version. My luxury had ML and premium navigation. Head up display is good if its the same colour version as my RX
  18. B Apparently a very common issue in Naples an Sicily when you upset certain families ⚰️
  19. I just received an email from Lexus Cheltenham announcing Lexus have come out top in the 2020 survey. I won't bore anyone with the details as I'm sure forum members will be reading it for themselves. Les
  20. Other than the steering lock a secure garage or car port is my only suggestion 👍
  21. Its not tyres is it. Dunlops wear in a strange way and give off a noise like a worn wheel bearing, but if it is a knocking rather than a rumble you are probably unfortunately correct.
  22. The Michelin's were a lot quieter than the Dunlops and felt far more secure in the wet. They wore evenly and at the time I fitted them were subject to a Promotional pre loaded debit card offer.
  23. I don't know what model of Michelin are fitted to ES but on my 2015 GS I replaced Dunlops with Michelin Primacy 4 which were brilliant.
