  1. Hi all. Mark you are kidding some berk ran into you, not to much damage i hope and all the work put into getting the car clean. 65mike
  2. Hi all. Oh dear what a pigs ear they have made off that all you can say is it's got the bits back on it. Looks like the lights will rub when the boot is opened and the lot does not line up properly sorry but it's a bodge job get in touch with insurance and tear them off a strip. Alas a bodger will always be a bodger how ever good he thinks he is. And resale will be affected no matter what that bodger says and from a Lexus approved body shop which Lexus dealer did you speak to and said that they were good as i would forward these pictures to Lexus uk and ask them if they would be happy to accept a car that has been approved from one off there body shop. In my view Jack you have nothing to loose i cannot see Lexus uk being pleased with this can you. 65mike.
  3. Hi all. I have used a company called https://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/ found them very good made a lovely job on my previous cars BBS split rims ( i have no affinity with this company just found them good ) Might be worth a look. 65mike.
  4. Hi all. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but are you sure it is a sensor from the engine as i had the VSC come on in my IS250 and the garage after a lot off searching with lap top and 2 technicians driving the car found it was a sensor in the car nothing to do with engine / exhaust at all and it cost £ 950.00 pounds including labour over £600 for sensor lucky i had the warranty just worth looking deeper before parting with money. 65mike.
  5. Hi all. Looks a gem lovely colour too. Enjoy it 65mike
  6. Hi all. Just to put my 2 pennies worth in. I was a proud owner off 3 jaguars before the Is and loved the first two both X-types i no not a XFR but to me they were brilliant cars servicing was dear parts were not cheap then i brought the XK4.2 lovely looking car admired from everybody BUT the costs after 10 months were crippling it had so many things wrong it was a money pit i had the alarm sorted twice but still kept going off not good when you do shift work as i do and get home at 10.30pm and lock car and wake all off your neighbours up. Dash board was a laugh sometimes rev counter worked sometimes it did not alas the list went on and on don't want to boar you with it all As i said the XK is not a XFR but shares many items especially electrics including dashboard. If you must buy one make sure you have plenty off money behind you as you will need it. This is the reason the XK went and i went to the dark side and brought the IS250 not a ISF but did not want one more refined and comfortable than the Jag and not so noisy pity the navigation is not so good but cannot have it all. 65mike
  7. Hi all. I spoke to Lexus regarding upgrading to later disc 2017 version and asked if it had full post code on it but they did not know. Does anybody know if the new disc has full post code recognition on it please. 65mike
  8. Hi all. Jack sorry to here about the car damage i would get it to your Lexus dealer let them have a look at it telling the insurance company that the car is not driveable now if your policy covers a courtesy car get them to give you one asap. Sounds like the damage to the back box has upset all the system. 65mike
  9. Hi all. I will be looking at getting winter tyres for next year went out in the car today after getting rid off 3 inches off snow off the car and went to pull away and rear tyres hit a load off snow and started to slip and VSC light flashed on and off so that was enough for me to decide to invest in some next year!!! 65mike.
  10. Hi all. Paul not having had a Lexus before all i can save is it drives lovely and smooth and is quiet and refined no slamming off doors which aim used to either. 65mike
  11. Hi all. What size wheels and tyres have you got on the car Alan and what tyres are you using. 65mike
  12. Hi all. This is good news indeed did you use the winter button on the dashboard and have you got winter tyres on the is300h. 65mike
  13. Hi all. Flytvr i agree but the XK i never stopped opening my wallet the thing was eating money like no tomorrow. I had 2 previous Jaguars and they were not like that still had one once would not have one again have now turned to the oriental side 65mike.
  14. Hi all. Flytvr tell me about it the XK cost me £1400 pounds in 10 months and still was not wright it was a money pit it had a few problems which needed money thrown at it if not then in the future so it had to go and good riddance to the thing. 65mike
  15. Hi all. Just to throw my two pence worth into the ring. The car looks good with service done recently but and i use but this does not mean it is any good my previous car to the Lexus was the Jaguar XK full history serviced but still had problems and it was becoming a money pit and that had a 6 month warranty the car you are looking at is a private seller no warranty. Don't get me wrong it could be a superb car with nothing wrong with it but there is a chance it could have a problems nobody sells a car which has nothing at all wrong with it otherwise why would you get rid off it. My new Lexus is250 well new to me has had a problem it has had to had the VSC fixed costing £1000.00 pounds lucky fixed under the warranty which had been there for 15 months i gave the service department a piece of my mind telling them it should have been sorted before i purchased it. I have also for piece off mind extended the warranty on the car to 3 years good deal at the moment 2 years for the price off 1 so iam sure this will be perfect for the car and will continue to make me a happy Lexus owner for the forceible future. I don't mean to be hard just saying as i have had the problems and need to be aware off what you may be letting yourself in for. 65mike
  16. Hi all. I always take notice off what the car manufacturers say they would no best in my view as they have no doubt spent hours testing all these things and found what is best for the car. 65mike

  23. Hi all. Bluesman he is a happy looking chap and very good at DIY too hence the nails😎 Now have car back and all sorted out it was the Yaw rate sensor which had given up the ghost they also quietened down the rattle in the nav/ dvd/radio gave it a wash😊 Seem good and attentive you don't get pushed on to another member off staff seems the one you first see is the one who continues to deal with thought the car being with them most impressed I was 😊. Will be extending the warranty in the next few days as this sensor was very expensive🙄 They seem to keep to there word as they have kept me updated by phone all the time makes a change😀 The young lady at the service department will contact me tomorrow to find out if all is ok and iam happy.😀 65mike

  25. Hi all. New to the is250 only had it 5 weeks so still getting used to it. I used to get 23-25 mpg out off my last to petrol Jaguars so to get 30mpg from the Lexus is250 auto is absolutely brilliant well pleased as my journey is 10miles each way with some dual carriage way and ordinary road just a couple off stop starts. 65mike
