  1. Hi all. Mark that looks a nice motor car have you taken the obligatory photo's yet as that is a must. I do like the look off the new front off the cars that Lexus are making now but the inside to me is a little bit different and am not over keen on it just my opinion i am sure it look lovely with the leather seats 65mike
  2. Hi all Well i got my faraday pouch for the keys works fine 2 pockets one blocks signal so car cannot be opened and the other won you use to put keyfob in so you can open doors and start car simple as that. Must say i never wanted keyless entry used to using buttons on key fob prefer it that way and still do this about 95% off the time it's no effert to just push a key fob button to me. 65mike.
  3. Hi all. Michael coming from a Jaguar XK which had a standard exhaust and was noisey you could here the noise in the morning in mothers front bedroom so i can see what you mean. But lovely going through a tunnel with the windows open. Mine was only a 4.2 XK not the R version which was louder the RS was even louder can get a bit to noisey though in my view I like a bit more quieter exhaust as i get older and past it now. 65mike.
  4. Hi all. After reading about the car stealing racket that is going on now have decided to get one off theses https://www.fonefunshop.com/car-keyless-entry-fob-signal-blocker-genuine-faraday-bag-block-theft.html other members have seen them on Amazon but found them on the above website so have ordered 2 off them thought long and hard about this and decided why not anything to stop the thieving B******s taking or trying to take my pride and joy I was reading in the daily paper that someone recommended a Ghost immobiliser system sounds good https://autowatch.co.uk alas it does not cover the early Lexus cars the is range is from 2014 and GS range from 2012 sounded like a good idea but alas not for any off the is250 cars or the isF cars. Looks like the steering lock that yellow thing will be dusted off when i go away or park in places aim not used too. 65mike Note: i have no interests in either mentioned above companies just seen them on the web and passed the info on.
  5. Hi all. Craig have you got the car and we need the pictures urgently to see what it looks like you understand we all have is's in some form or another wether it be the humble 250 or the F cars. 65mike
  6. Hi all. They both look ok baring in mind the age and mileage is not too high. It's a case off you pays your money and takes your chance which ever one you decide it's your decision and no one can tell you otherwise we can all just advise you and wish you well with what ever you decide to get. 65mike
  7. Hi all. Peter that's strange why not serviced in uk at there service centre like mine has been twice now. Mine was a pain in the a**e had to literally shake the life out off it to get it going and was loosing 4 minutes in 3 days until it went back under warranty within 6 months off purchase been fine since. 65mike
  8. Hi all. Coming from 3 Jaguars to the Lexus but not owning a isf i would go for the is ever time more refined more comfortable than the Jaguar only my view. 65mike.
  9. Hi all. Peter mine is kept in the same box but i still have the cardboard outer case which it goes in they also gave me a travel case with cleaning cloth and when it went back for it's second over haul they retuned it in another case with zip and another cleaning cloth it gets looked after more than i do pampered is the word. 65mike
  10. Hi all. Peter i had a lot off trouble with mine when purchased went back to there uk office and was waiting for it for weeks when spoke to them the lady said got our top watch maker on it she is very particular and we are waiting for new hands from Switzerland could have knocked me down with a feather. Must say she made a excellent job as it was a wright sod to get going before she sorted it out it has had another overhaul 3-4 years ago and is due either a service or a overhaul now but keep putting it off. 65mike.
  11. Hi all. der seems i have 3 picture don't ask how site seems slow and was having problems 65mike
  12. Hi all Mine is the same make as peter's a Brietling but a Navitimer Heritage had it 13 years now worn at weekends and holidays got it on now beautiful watch only problem is it costs £600 pounds for a overhaul but there overhaul means stripping down to a box off bits and comes back looking like brand new. This is similar to mine but has silver bezel mine has black. 65mike
  13. Hi all Er yes i would say it is a failure as has been said get pictures and you will need to report the hole to the council first before you can claim for damage to tyre. Be warned that they will probably reject your claim but object and they should pay up. You are thinking how do i know all this i went down a hill and the tarmac had sunk and it was like a brick wall one after the other BANG BANG front tyre went stayed on rim rim was fine tyre looked ok but watched it going down, contacted council as i said earlier was told we think it better to spend money on reparing pot holes than pay for your tyre so objected to there decision and got cost off tyre they did not take response ability for it. Best off luck. 65mike.
  14. Hi all. The inside looks nice but the wheels are black er no look terrible in my view and the body colour where is the gloss / shine to it stick to one colour for the paint is what i think 65mike
  15. Hi all. Matthew sorry to hear about the damage to the car I would myself bite the bullet and get the insurance to sort it out it will cost you premium wise but cannot see it costing as much as you would pay to do it yourself and will have a warranty on work. 65mike
  16. Hi all. That's a result then Paul. Iam thinking off winter tyres next winter might be better in the rough weather than the standard ones. 65mike
  17. Hi all. Rob thanks it was a lucky break as the one i enquired about was sold but sales manager offers me this one no pictures were available at the time and was brought last October 2017. The deal was quick spoke to sales manager on the Friday purchased it on the Saturday and collected it following weekend. 65mike.
  18. Hi all My view on this new LS is i want one no question about it i want one there is a slight problem for me as i cannot afford it. Perhaps when it is a bit older yes. 65mike
  19. Hi all. Lovely looking motor you have there Neil hope all goes well I agree with you cornershop give Lexus HQ a right going at i had a problem with the VSC on the car a month after i got it under warrant lucky and found out the problem had been on going for 2 MOT'S so gave the dealer a piece off my mind got to be done. 65mike.
  20. Hi all. I was lucky and i been deadly luck when i brought the Lexus i had the Jaguar XK to part exchange as i was sick off the problems with it and was looking around for a car quick i consider a Vauxhall but decided against that and was just browsing at Autotrader looking at assorts off cars just needed to get rid off XK and saw a Lexus IS250 looked good at a dealer wanted a dealer car because off warranty. Contacted Lexus Woodford where the car was and told it had gone but the sales manager was telling me he had another one but better model IS 250SE-L but bit dearer i told him what i wanted to do money wise and we agreed a superb deal with me getting money back and a far superior car Seems like they go faster than i ever thought must be down to the quality and reputation they have.. Keep looking and one will come up my advise is get from a dealer the service i had from mine was second to none better service than i had when i brought my Jaguar x-type new from the Jaguar dealer. Best off luck 65mike. P.S And here is what i got she is a beauty.
  21. Hi all. I find the seats take about 3 miles to get warm and the sat nav is a joke 65mike
  22. Hi all. When i purchased the is250 from the dealer it had 29000 miles on the clock and was 8 years old and had the 1 year Lexus warranty which i needed as the VSC went wrong and costed £1000 to put wright so i instantly brought the 2 year for the price off 1 Lexus warranty admitted the car has to be survived at Lexus dealer but you can for the older cars have cheaper services done. Let the good times role. 65mike
  23. Hi all. New to Lexus so was most surprised when i was able to get all the service details on this system even down to telling me when it had new front tyres well before i purchased the car. Also told me when it had had new spark plugs and the new rear tyres and the VSC problem fixed. 65mike
  24. Hi all. Sorry Jack i think you should have left it there and been in touch with the insurance company straight away saying the car was unacceptable. Alas they might say why did you accept it if you were not happy with it. As far as they are concerned the job is done if it's not up to standard tough luck seem like a load off cowboys by what you have said. 65mike
  25. Hi all. Looks very nice Andrew shinning like a good un gave mine a clean today alas it has now had sleet and rain all over it plus my stupid neighbour is having a loft extension so more sawdust over it too 65mike
