  2. I insured my RX with Tesco last August. Price was reasonable (~£900) compared to what was being offered on the market (>£1k). The excess on the windscreen replacement was much lower than what LV was asking for. Bog standard insurance purchase experience, online documents came through quickly. Haven't had to claim.
  3. Mine were allegedly made in Japan ( The ISF being especially well made too, so I have heard ) and there is supposed to be a plate somewhere that says so. BTW It's not an import - sold new by Stephen Eagell Cambridge. However, the only ID plates I can find say "Europe" all over them????🤔
  4. Hi fought I would chip in I bought a Lexus key off eBay with a blank shaft had that cut at local key cutting shop and coded new key with techstream in under a minute as long as you have a working key it’s easy to do
  5. My expensive thatcham tracker with subscriptions only saved me £40 per year on insurance quotes, so I stopped paying £175 per year for the subscription and stopped declaring the tracker and saved £135 per year. Right or wrong, I don't really want the car back after it has been ruined by a thief.

  7. My understanding is that most often the “ red “ for the Rear Wheels alignment isn’t going to affect your driving nor handling of the car …… nor detrimental to the car, tyres etc …….. is there detrimental, discernible rear tyre wear ?? …… if yes then action is needed ……. if not then, well, you know my layman thoughts Perfection will necessitate a remedy …… Practicality …… it might be ok to leave ……. AS with the aircon recharge ! Your depth of pockets will dictate I’m sure Best wishes Malc
  8. I took delivery of my LBX yesterday. So far OK I did notice that there is NO MANUAL in the car…….its all on-line which I find quite inconvenient. Does anyone know how to get the paper documents…I have written to the Sales guy and await an answer…..
  9. I had to call them again and again, but they eventually did it.
  10. Hi all of you knowledgeable people, first timer here. I have a IS250 2008. I love it to bits but would like to update the sat nav maps. I have checked the manual & it tells me how to eject the old dvd. I haven't done it yet as I'm not sure about taking the front panel off, in any case, when I press the MAP DVD button it says there is no DVD! I have read up on Lexus website & they say either remove the card (I can't find one) or plug in USB stick (I can't see a USB port). Can anyone tell me where to look please as it's not obvious to me. Or doesn't it get updates? Sorry if its a stupid question but it's bothering me.
  11. For me the noise was a piece of gravel stuck between the disc and the inside weather guard. But that was a helluva screech! Simple to get out.
  12. I'm sorry Qamar, I've not had any experience with inner tie rods.
  13. The petrol smell will be because the car is running too rich.
  14. They happily agreed to use genuine brand new in the box Range Rover parts too BUT they’re possibly somewhere in Houtl Hezbollah container ship land and might not be “ here “ for some indeterminate MONTHS sadly Malc
  15. Until you can get the new security canbus and software sorted, it is cheaper to buy a crooklock for the steering wheel than lose your car. I use mine every time I park anywhere outside my home garage. Annoying to have to keep fitting, and yes thieves can get through some of the locks - just takes them more time, and they are likely to look for easier pickings elsewhere.
  16. The big question is why has insurance gone up so much. I suggest 2 simple answers ( like it or not ) 1 Insurance companies just want to make a load of money and have got together to rip-off the public, 'cos they can. 2 ( probably more fact based as opposed to opinionated ) For many years the Police have refused to investigate burglaries and car theft and they normally just say claim on your insurance, here's your crime number. This has exacerbated the rise in thefts and therefore claims and therefore insurance costs. Plus the crimes are not investigated or solved and continue to rise and increase premiums. OK you are now free to shoot me down in flames for my opinions.😆
  17. Unfortunately they will have sent you a type B so it wont work, even in my normal IS the space is tight so you’ll likely have to trim some the redundant back plastic that is used non navi models. Im planning on doing the same and running a new camera as I’ve upgraded my xtrons to a teyes and transplanted my xtrons to a slightly older IS. The only consideration with the IS250C for you is running the camera cable as it is a nightmare compared to regular IS’s although fellow member Ahmed had some recent success. Photos of my recent teyes install, still in progress and will need to trim the back.
  18. Mine is a 2014 executive with 94k. At 70k your car has probably not even lived half its serviceable life. With regular maintenance you should easily get 200k+ of trouble free motoring its a Lexus after all. The one thing i do recommend doing as a DIY if you're comfortable with DIY is to clean the hybrid battery fan it is not done by lexus when servicing but it will help prolong the life of your hybrid battery. Also at 90-100k service ask for a transmission oil change that is also not a maintenance item but might be worth having it done for peace of mind if you plan to keep the car long. Else like wharfhouse has mentioned above as yours is an 18 plate if you service it at lexus you will have lexus relax warranty up to around 2029 (if you time the last service right)+ Get the hybrid health check done at lexus every year after that and your hybrid battery will have warranty up to 2033. By then you will probably want to change your car anyway. So chill and enjoy your new Lexus.
  19. It’s an amazing coincidence isn’t it 🤔

  21. Like both the black and silver?Any other options that look well?
  22. Most insurance companies will also let you choose your own repairer, but usually you will have to pay an additional £200 or so excess.
  23. When my OEM 08 suspension fails, I'll be looking to get the HKS Hipermax, or stick with OEM 2008 spec springs but paired with 2013-2014 dampers. Main problem with the ISF is that it's undersprung and overdamped
