Test report on LBX
Foggy60 replied to DavidCM's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
We ordered 21st March, first update we got was Friday evening to say the car was at the Derbyshire prep centre, no updates in between, rebuild, shipping etc. Surprised me when the price list show Takumi spec have a longer lead time! I can only assume they have either built some to certain specs and shipped them out, or since people have seen the car in the flesh orders have been cancelled. Why? If it takes 40+ days on the ship, plus build time, transport to the ship, and from Portbury to uk distribution centre, Lexus must have a great crystal ball as that means they new we wanted Blue with Sandy interior before we even ordered the car 🤣😆 -
CANBUS remedial work with main dealers.
wendle replied to IronLizard's topic in Lexus LC500 Coupe Club
The problem is that it won't stop them doing nearly 4K worth of damage trying to steel it. Thy pull back the bumper on the LC as there is not enough room to get in through the wheel arch. - Today

Bad ride and noise on 18 inch wheels

Thank you for your reply. -
I had some holes fixed back in October, as I had this warning coming after driving hundreds or thousands of miles. Never had petrol smell though. After fixing havent had this warning till now. I had to overpass cars on higher revs, so perhaps pressure did made a hole somewhere again. How could a pinhole on exhaust cause petrol smell? Thanks

Rx400h front brake imbalance

The car has 260 kilometres so I thought it was time to change them anyway. -
Mine is a 2014 executive with 94k. At 70k your car has probably not even lived half its serviceable life. With regular maintenance you should easily get 200k+ of trouble free motoring its a Lexus after all. The one thing i do recommend doing as a DIY if you're comfortable with DIY is to clean the hybrid battery fan it is not done by lexus when servicing but it will help prolong the life of your hybrid battery. Also at 90-100k service ask for a transmission oil change that is also not a maintenance item but might be worth having it done for peace of mind if you plan to keep the car long. Else like wharfhouse has mentioned above as yours is an 18 plate if you service it at lexus you will have lexus relax warranty up to around 2029 (if you time the last service right)+ Get the hybrid health check done at lexus every year after that and your hybrid battery will have warranty up to 2033. By then you will probably want to change your car anyway. So chill and enjoy your new Lexus.

Service showing wheel tracking alignment out each year
scudney replied to Lynne S's topic in New Members Area
On the other hand Lynne do you hit kerbs as this is enough to throw your alignment out, and will then only show up months later in the form of uneven tyre wear? -
Like both the black and silver?Any other options that look well?

Do any of you use Lexus Motor Insurance?
Spock66 replied to CT200NI's topic in Lexus Insurance Discussions
Most insurance companies will also let you choose your own repairer, but usually you will have to pay an additional £200 or so excess. -
Coilover spring rates
4969_LXS replied to jeffrosie6's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
When my OEM 08 suspension fails, I'll be looking to get the HKS Hipermax, or stick with OEM 2008 spec springs but paired with 2013-2014 dampers. Main problem with the ISF is that it's undersprung and overdamped -
If you're fitting a separate cooler you don't really need to block the old holes but simply plugging them with something like silicone sealant will stop dirt getting in. The internal cooler is aluminium so doesn't rust. Just to add, once the transmission pipes are re routed to a cooler, the rest of it in the radiator is obsolete.

I bought about £350 worth is service parts in January from them. Helpful enough, made me feel like they have time to advise. I'd order from them again. Particularly as the only Lexus dealer in NI now insists you go via it's franchise 'parts centre' for parts... Much easier to use LPD

Managed to find the answer. “From the side, lower 'Electric' badges are one of the few giveaways to this model's BEV status; that and the fact that it has two 'filler' flaps, one for a Type 2 charger on the driver's side and one for a fast-charge CHAdeMO plug on the near side. “

Stolen NX found and recovered, what now?
LadyToeBeans replied to LadyToeBeans's topic in Lexus General Discussions
I'm happy to share the cost - once I know myself. I agree that it wasn't amateurs because there were a few high quality items in the car which could have been sold for a sum on Ebay but it all remained untouched. I also have a holdall in the car which I keep super neat and orderly, and I have it back now completely untouched. Opportunists would have rummaged and stolen stuff, and probably set it on fire or something. Car will go to Lexus for a final check, hybrid check, and then various levels of security are being installed, all on the same day before finally coming back home. -
Lexus were the most stolen car brand in UK 2023. More than 2% of all Lexus cars on the road were stolen. It’s entirely understandable that insurers will therefore decline to cover them, reducing competition, and both the higher risk and less competition inevitably feeds through to higher prices for consumers. It’s not a scam - it’s the market working exactly as you’d expect. Overall, insurers were predicted to lose money in 2022 and 2023, and plenty lost rather a lot. https://www.ft.com/content/5dca87fb-1e03-4309-8a4a-01dee4fe4748

Canterbury Lexus I always associated with the Toyota Main Dealer, as it’s ( or was, lots of redevelopment build going on right now ) just a few hundred yards along that same road …… with the usual upmarket Lexus style coffee etc available whilst waiting in the showroom / Spares Dept all in there too 🤔 And buying Spares bits for my Lexii over the years Malc
