  2. True enough. Indeed, yesterday there was no Q in Ilkley. We could have walked right in for a table. I find the Harrogate branch busier probably because of more tourists. Same likely true for the York branch.
  3. £4495 now. Enjoy the May break. Anthony; will contact soon..>.
  4. Hi David, I’ve been puzzling over the same calculation myself and have ended up with a slightly different outcome from your recent data based upon my methodology. However as with most mathematics it’s not a precise science…. I would start by subtracting the EV mileage 53.9 from the total mileage of 150.8 giving 96.9 miles Then using the mpg from the car of 51.8 and dividing this into the total mileage of 150.8 we get 2.91119 gallons used (bearing in mind that the car is probably inaccurate with its calculation). Then dividing the derived ICE miles of 96.9 by the derived gallons, 2.91119 I get an underlying ICE mpg of 33.3 Please feel free to mark my homework 😉
  5. The air Con Top Up ..I get that at Every service.....Always Say No Does not need it YET
  6. So first longer drive done. Lexus Link + screenshot attached. I used EV mode for the first few miles then HV once on main roads / dual carriageways, then switched to EV again when remaining distance matched EV range . Arrived with just over 2m EV range left. Overall just under 151 miles of which EV shows as 53.9m. I presume some of that is the pure EV and the remainder is the standard hybrid, which would give me just under 39 mpg from the ICE / normal hybrid if I allow 38 miles of EV only? Is that the right way to calc / think about it? Shame the app doesn’t break it down between pure EV running and the electric mileage that is part of normal hybrid.
  7. The SC430Mods controller sounds a simpler mechanism in the sense of functionality. That is ,no displays etc. Just 3 buttons for mode selection. It's more than £40, but I can say I have never had any issue with the way it works.
  8. Today
  9. I may be in luck here. Yesterday the weather was quite warm and I just tried the telescopic function I could hear the motor trying to work. So this could possibly be a stiff mechanism which needs lubrication. Can anyone recommend the best thing to use for lubricating the moving parts? - I have some red grease in the garage - will this suffice?
  10. ….Malcolm, thank you for the reminder.😃 going to talk dirty now - will only want to receive, at this price, paper money 😲, just dont’t understand plastic, telegraphic transfer’ - too old, now…🫣 a
  11. Hello alexi i have the digital mirrors and have had them for two years now,and a great fan of them , but I always sa they like marmite love or hate…… Yes with temperature changes especially in damp weather the lens internally do mist up and give the displays as you showed. It’s a pain but if you run the heaters for long enough they will clear. The heaters do turn off automatically so repeat the process, the wing mirrors are prone to this especially if the use power washer on your car. in winter I put a glove on the wing mirrors ! Stops them freezing. also check the seal between the top and bottom halves of the wing mirror assembly is water getting in there? please is the problem on both wing mirrors?
  12. Thanks for trying to help Neil. I've not had time myself to try yet as it is still disconnected. It does have a lock feature that stops the engine being accelerated but that doesn't prevent the engine being started, According to the mechanic when I spoke to him over the phone he said when it was connected the car would not start and the display of the throttle controller did not light up, I can only think that the connecting wire has got damaged or the display unit has packed up caused by the work carried out as it was working fine before otherwise they wouldn't have been able to drive it into the workshop. if if was something that was a standard fitment on the car I would expect them to put it right. I bought it direct from China for around £40 so I will probably just buy another one rather than trying o repair this one.
  13. ….this is a personal, private and confidential message for the ‘eye’s only’ of Malc 1. if you receive this post, in error, please, I would ask you now to cease reading this message forthwith ! ….Malcolm - hi! I would refer to your earlier post when you expressed both your disappointment and concern regarding the missing Torch in my Lexus LS 400 toolkit case. I truly understand and agree with your suggestion that, said missing Torch, does indeed have a devastating reduction in the typical resale value of my Lexus LS 400 ! I believe your assessment of £2.000 to be, based on your extensive experience and knowledge, to be realistic ! of course, what you could not know, Malcolm, was, when I was initially researching a fair price for my vehicle a figure of £6.495 did not seem unreasonable. then I remembered, in horror 😲, that wretched Torch was missing from the toolkit ! accordingly, I promptly recalculated the asking price to £4.995. then, I thought, is £1500 a fair valuation for said item, no I thought, I believe, like you, £2000 to be fair and reasonable to our fellow member’s - hence my advertised price of £ 4.495 - which also read’s so much better than asking £4.995 ( see what I did there? ). if you are not Malcolm reading this - re my opening paragraph - shame on you…….l☹️😃😃😃😃😃 anthony
  14. wish you well ......... remember it's a Bank Holiday and banks will delay bank transfers if the suggested buyer wants to run away with your limo and not pay properly ! Best wishes Malc
  15. Relax Malc, I meant MY car won't last another 20 years. That said the chances of me still being alive, let alone still driving at 81 are pretty slim too.
  16. Thats Great News Ed.. Just wondering what Mine will be this Year when i Renew in June ..Will Keep chris Knott In Mind..!!
  17. Thanks Nigel. I need to do a little re-dying of my black seats. I also found this video very informative too.
  18. Just to add to this thread. I have recently bought an SC430 with a non operational Mark Levinson sound system. I located a blown 5A component fuse on the main pcb which had a dry joint so managed to revive the unit. I have been experimenting with it and I get the feeling that the head unit and amp section can get out of sync in the setup of Balance, Pan, Bass, Mid and Treble sections. Once happy with its operation, I re-centered all the head controls to "zero" and then disconnected the earth battery cable for 30 mins or so in order to re-sync both elements. I may be wrong but I certainly feel the default is now true and I can reach all extremes available in their range. Obviously this may be the case anytime you disconnect the battery for other reasons. Hope this helps
  19. I have that occasionally, I just pull down to refresh the App and that usually sorts it. If not, force close it and start open it up again.
  20. An update. Lexus Reading got back to me very quickly, the next morning 8:00am. They have booked me in for investigation (200pounds 🙂). They will then decide if this is a warranty case or not (won't pay in case replaced under warranty). The only available slot was the 4th of June! I bet the condensation will disappear in warmer weather by then 😁. Let's see...
  21. I had the same problem on my 2011 Toyota Auris. It was caused by a poor connection in the under-seat plug & socket. This is a not uncommon fault as the under-seat cables get moved whenever you adjust the seat. Before doing anything more complex as Chris suggests try a quick & simple remedy. After waiting 2 minutes after having the car powered down, disconnect the under-seat connector & spray it with WD-40 Contact Cleaner (not the ordinary WD-40). If you are uncertain if the fault relates to the driver's or passenger's seat do both. This permanently solved my problem & hopefully will do the same for you.
  22. …..late last night, of course I was crashed out 😴, I received a Message of Interest in my Lexus LS 400, which you may all now know is, For Sale ! 🙄 no name’s - no pack drill ! 🙄 General Data Protection Act applie’s and I have previously signed the Official Secret’s Act ! 🙄 shock ! horror ! probe !………watch this space…….
  23. …..back again with more exciting new’s update’s about my still available Lexus LS 2000 on, I believe, a rare X registration ! this morning’s subject is - electric sunroof’s ! when I started driving in the mid 60’s the sunroof feature was not an unusual fitting. my first car was a 1946 Austin 16 (£25 😲) fitted with a manual twist and turn handle metal sunroof. electric power was yet to arrive, even on premium brand’s. an old established sunroof maker, based in south-east London, called Webasto still make custom made precision folding fabric/leather sunroof’s to this day and they were founded in 1939 ! also, in the early day’s of mass production air conditioning you could not spec a sunroof and air con, it was only one or the other, not both !☹️ pro’s and con’s of a sunroof: the pro must be to slide the roof panel back on a warm or hot sunny day and bask in the sunshine with minimal draught ,🙂- a wonderful feeling of additional light, aireness and openness - so refreshing. sadly, 21st century design appear’s to be outlawing this feature in the interest of better cd / aerodynamic reason’s + improved mpg, cost ? ! yes, many model’s can be ordered, at a cost of extra thousand’s, with extended smoked / toughened panoramic roof insert’s ! even include electric blind’s - but do they open ? do they …….! the con’s ? well, the big one is they can leak 😲, certainly the older version’s. remember, sun roof’s are not leak proof - they are designed to leak - that’s why there are alway’s front and rear drain pipe’s. when these drain’s fracture, that is when the interior stain’s and water evidence may appear. alway’s ideal to lubricate all on - board rubber weatherseal’s, including the sunroof perimeter seal. historically, I have alway’s used, once or twice a year, a product called Gummi Pflege Stift rubber care (😳). with a built-in sponge applicator dispenser it lubricates and enhances the look of any rubber component ! the other con, for me, is that when a sunroof is fitted it will, clearly, lower the roofline. I am 6’ 5” so sometime’s struggle to be comfortable behind the wheel of some car’s ☹️. of course, the electric, tinted, glass sunroof on my 2000 Lexus LS400 work’s, as you would expect, seamlessly both in linear and tilt mode - no gaffer tape here (😲) - as these picture’s attest to: ….alway’s have fun, anthony
  24. Adam. If you are still breaking this car, I would be interested in the drivers door threshold, mine has a nasty discolouration in the Lexus logo/light. The front orange reflectors, at low level on each corner. Also the 2 triangular swing out parcel shelf corners please. pics and prices if possible. Thanks
  25. Check the selector switch and measure the resistance in each position. I cannot recall the values, but they are about 100 to 400 Ohms. You can open the switch and put the contact inside at the right position. Then you can verify its operation. Next check the connector to the airbag control unit, under the armrest. Do not forget to disconnect the battery and wait at least 1.5 minutes. The connectors of the airbag module short circuit the wires to each airbag circuit when disconnected from the connector to the airbags. When the connectors are mated, the short circuit is removed Check their function and check that the connectors make good contact when mated. Reference: Original Lexus GS 450h repair manual. Chris.

  27. Possibly a strong "trade" style TFR was used, and either applied dry (a no-no), or left to dwell too long before being rinsed off.
  28. Does the throttle controller have a mode that acts as an immobiliser? My Sprintboosters don't but I seem to remember at least one of the controllers have the feature.
