  2. The next time I go to Lexus for service I want those pesty USB ports fixed. I wiggle the wire a little bit and it connects. But that's not a guarantee it will stay connected. I'm an Electronics Engineer. The Actual USB port does not securely hold the cable once plugged in. Great car lousy USB ports. I have used 4 new cables all with the same result.

  4. Well my 22 450h gets about what your getting. The Gas savings come from EV city driving. On the Highway is where you burn more fuel.
  5. Hello, Do not buy the Faraday Pouches. They tend to fail after a month or two. There is a thin metal mesh inserted into the pouch. The metal Breaks from continued flexing. Which is impossible not to do. Shut the fob off on a lexus. Press and hold the Lock button while you press the unlock button twice for a total of 4 flashes on the key fob. Then the fob is off and not transmitting. The next press of any button activates the fob.
  6. Hi Paul, I hope you doing well. I’m facing a same issue as explained by you in your post. I replaced the alternator last year and again replaced the alternator under warranty this year in march still facing the rev. Bouncing problem. I was supplied Oex RLO alternator both time by repco. May i know what part number alternator you used to solve the issue. Will be looking forward for you response. Thank you!!
  7. How much heat does it let in? With my NX if I leave the sun shade open on a hot day the car is roasting.
  8. Can echo this having replaced the battery on my driveway back in 2021. No need for any coding or reset procedure, there is no alternator to worry about overcharging the battery the main traction battery is intelligent enough to keep the battery optimised. Its as simple as ensuring ignition is off & remove the battery clamp disconnect Negative first followed by positive. Fit the new battery & clamp it down ensuring vent tube is connected. Easy DIY just need a 10mm spanner from what I remember. Radio & Sat Nav continued working without any hiccup.
  9. Well medium-big update, got the trunk open in a more unusual way. This really only applies to UL cars where you have the car unlocked and keys stuck in trunk with no bypass. Removed the rear seats Lifted the rear deck a little and removed the sub There is a small area where the fibreglass sound insulation and trunk carpeting overlap with some rivets/screws, pop those out by sheer force (and anger). I stuck a medium-ish diameter tube to give me some room and take pictures Used my phone and recorded a video w/ flash so I could see what was happening Get a small rod to move towards the latch, then just full send! Got it unlocked and got my keys IMG_4716.MOV
  10. Took deliverey last Monday of new Lexus es 300h. Due to birth of latest Grandson have completed 700 mile in a week mixed driving but large chunk motorway. I treated car gently with longest journey of 120 + mile. Car computer said 60.1 mpg which was confirmed by doing a bit of maths on purchased petrol that showed 60mpg. to say I am delighted is an understatement as car is not even run in properly yet.
  11. Also got a Carbon lip kit with rear diffuser and spoiler that I have to get fitted. Quality looks good. Will put pics up once fitted.
  12. Removing the battery should not cause any problems other than having to reset the windows. I've had no problems with mine since I charged it up when i posted this...
  13. Hi. Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you wish. Regards, Dan.

    Hi all

Hi Bill, welcome to the forum/club. We tried both the NX and RX 450h+ before deciding on the latter as it provides greater space (obviously 😅) and much greater comfort and hi-fi quality. Best to find a helpful dealer and book some test drives. Best wishes for making your choice…
  15. As above, only the bonnet on the GS models was made of aluminium. I'd walk away from that one. My old RX450h (2014 FSport with genuine very low miles) I see is available now on the forecourt of listers, Cheltenham (I saw it there on Thursday) if that would interest you instead Roland? That one is genuine, immaculate throughout and A1 mechanically. I can vouch for it.
  16. I'm really very sorry to hear this about John Vlad. John was a lovely chap and a mine of information. RIP John and I hope you have an extra special LS up there with you now.
  17. Blimey! just enjoy driving the UX rather than eking out fantastic MPG. I had a couple of these models in the past and they failed to disappoint on the MPG and having fun driving them, putting the odd foot down in sport mode when I fancied it. Alternatively buy a Prius if mileage is more important. 😁
  18. My rear washer on the RX isn't working, I had Lexus check it whilst in for a service and they said the fuse was ok so it could be a wiring fault (front bumper off) or it's the motor and pump assembly (part no. 85330-60180). I'm willing to take a chance on replacing the asssembly... the genuine Lexus part quote is £143.91 plus fitting which is obviously not cheap. It would be nice to get it fixed at a resonable cost and I'm thinking I might have a go at replacing the assembly myself as I understand it can be accessed via the right hand wheel arch. My queries are: The same Toyota part is cheaper or cheaper again if I go for an aftermarket part, thoughts on genuine v aftermarket? Secondly, has anyone done the same job on their RX who can offer any advice/pictures/video's? I've had search here and on the internet but with limited success, hence my queries.
  19. Thank you guys, I guess I'll be going to my mechanic to do this, looks like without a lift it'll be a nightmare 👍👍
  20. Hi Henrik here. Just sending my best regards to all. Thanks and have a good day
  21. I used to use the Avon ZX7's all year round on my RX and really rate them highly. Very quiet, grip like a limpet in the dry, are A rated for the wet and give a comfortable ride. My old rims were 19 inch but sadly I can't get themin a 235/55 profile for the 20" rims I now have on the newer RX. I have just fitted the latest Bridgestone Turanza 6 "Enliten" tyres and they've been great in the few weeks I've been using them. On average, I'm getting 2mpg more than the stock Dunlop sportmax tyres which on mine had hardened off compounds, little grip in dry or wet and I hated them. Couldn't wait to get them off the car. The other ones with a really good rep are the Yokohama BluEarth AE61 tyres, cheaper than the Turanzas, A rated for the wet, low noise and lots of positive feedback. I was quoted £198 a corner fitted for 20" wheels.
  22. Must admit I never updated the satnav maps in my 2014RX and still found it totally reliable, and as the 2021 model came with updates for that year, I'll not even attempt to update mine as it seems to work as well as my garmin. I also have a bmw navigator6 unit for the bike which I can use in the car if needed. I guess if I want to use Apple Maps I have to upload or connect my phone to the car?
  23. On the earler ones, 2005-9 they have a tiny starter battery under the bonnet. I only use my car a couple of times a month and have to disconnect the battery, otherwise it would be flat everytime. Its a PITA
  24. Loads of places it can be coming in from. Rear seams, rear light clusters, just below the back bumper, roof rails. Basically these cars are like a sieve as they age. I have sorted most of mine out (they hide water well under the boot so you can't see it), then drilled a couple of holes in the boot, so if water does get in, it can get out without getting to the HV battery.
  25. I bought this for my Dad's UX - works brilliantly! The quality is superb and the app is excellent to use. I also bought the hard-wire kit for it at the same time. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CL68VNVR?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder_k1_1_7&amp=&crid=KFLEODEMPU0Z&amp=&sprefix=dashcam I also had the Blackvue (single channel) in her RX. Loved the stealth look. Quality of video has come leaps and bounds since then but the costs have too...
