  2. Thanks bud, don’t suppose you know a decent brand of TPMS sensors? Not OEM. Thanks
  3. So it’s the likely storage method over time that causes “ new “ old stock to be decrepit when sold 🤔 Makes a lot of sense for sure 👍 Malc
  4. The RZ was late to the party and not as good in several respects as some already there. When models come forth with new battery technology giving much better range and faster charging, it is likely to cause a great drop in the value of the current crop of EVs so not a good time to buy new now I think. I see an extended life for hybrids, whatever governments may say at present and note that Toyota are currently developing a new hybrid engine/drivetrain and the Chinese have already done this. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news/byd-new-hybrid-cars-ultra-long-2-000-km-range-for-under-14-000/vi-BB1nfKhT?ocid=mailsignout&pc=U591&cvid=57b2f5c915504f74ac30acf24dff6cab&ei=15
  5. hi guys i have a 02 sensor code p155 says bank 2 sensor 1 where is that on the exhaust
  6. Do not forget about the ABS central unit problem the LS460 very often seem to develop. A new revision new one or a new revision used one from a salvage yard seems to be the way forward... A new one installed at dealer will probably cost you at least 1500£ including labor. (Going price right now in USA for a OEM new is 1000$ for the part only. )
  7. mine is not, not sure why ( other than I have fitted the plate) We are pleased to confirm that your Lexus is not affected by any voluntary customer service campaigns or outstanding safety recalls and no further action is required.
  8. After 5 years ownership of loving this car and doing less miles than expected, I'm finding myself tempted by a RCF.Something with sub 50k miles. What are the weak spots I should look for? Will want a Lexus FSH.
  9. Hmm. I have had cars of different makes for 40+ years now and never needed to change schockabsorbers. (Lucky) Only some broken spring due to age. Well. So I am no expert on these...However at work we design in gaspressure filled struts sometimes in machines. These simplified has a compartment with gas and oil. The comparment has a seal to the moving rod that seals in gas and oil with a seal running against the rod. it is important that the position of such struts is arranged so that the seal is submerged in oil and not exposed directly to the gas when in normal use if at all possible. It is then reasonably also important that the strut is stored correctly when in stock. If it is lying flat or wrong side up it may have the seal partly exposed to the pressurized gas and it will leak out much faster. I would not be surprised if very old stock have expired and also been moved around and been stored i non stable environment etc for some of the time. A gamble to buy new old stock of this type. My LS400 shocks are all fine after 25++ years (luck). Although have had to change springs once in the rear due to breakage of one due to rust. Also disassemble the front and put in more rubber cushion on top end of the spring there. Had expired down to very thin...
  10. On 3rd gen GS it seems very optimistic, which I found surprising compared to 2nd gen IS (the cars shares most parts, things like ECU). So whereas on IS reported mpg was like +/-1%, maybe 3% once in a while (call it margin of error, and may not even be fault of trip computer, it may be the petrol station pump that is off by 1%), then on GS it is consistently 10% optimistic, it shows range and all other things fairly accurately, but tank MPG always optimistic. So if it says for example 34MPG, then calculated brim to brim will be more like 31 maybe.

  12. There are realistically only 2 options - official one which is £600 (or something like that, maybe be £380, but the point is - it will be hundreds), or the chinese one which you can find on ebay for ~£30. Apart of that there is literally no difference between chinese cables, they may have cosmetic differences, some come in clear plastic, some in clear blue plastic, some are black etc. but they are all the same design running of xhorse.
  13. it disappeared quickly 😄 re: auto-fold - "the more you know"... so I would assume it became standard for higher spec? F-Sport, SE-L, SE-i? but perhaps was not included in Advance, SE? There is also this pre-reg, late sale issue... so some 2008 cars only sold in 2010, so there are cars which are registered in 2010, but have no auto-fold. And there is opposite thing with pre-reg, where the car was registered when it was purchased and before it was built, or reached UK shores... I am not sure how far pre-reg goes, but I have surely seen some FL cars registered in like March 2009, despite them not reaching UK probably until October. So realistically only cars with plates 59+ should have auto-fold, but there are certainly some with 09 plates, not sure about 58. Also also, some cars have been retrofitted, although it is not super common there must be at least few 100 of them floating around... and in the market with only 100+ IS on sale, there is not 0% chance one can buy a car with this already done. To be fair - it is way too much time spent discussing the topic for the feature that can be retrofitted for under £10, but hopefully we reached the bottom of it.
  14. I'd suggest making personal contact with Steven Eagell who operates Lexus Cambridge, I believe this was a recent takeover from the Marshall Motor Group. He may not be too happy with how this dealer is operating if you bring this to his direct attention.
  15. Every few mins a get 2 beeps which I can't seem to turn off. I have the speed limit set to none so it's not that. Any idea what it can be?
  16. Correct. In the UK it seems to, certainly this year. It's only just stopped raining since September last year.
  17. One update is you may find your car now appears to have an outstanding recall, I have the RX with plates already fitted so must be for something else. We have identified that your Lexus is subject to a voluntary customer service campaign or outstanding safety recall. This can be rectified at no cost. https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/vehicle-recall
  18. Thank you, I am aware but it maybe worth waiting. I am not in a rush and can wait until September/October
  19. That’s what the BBC weatherman said yesterday ……. did we see the same ? Malc
  20. Just noticed that you’re non-UK so my MOT comment is probably not valid! But if by ‘gripping every kerb’ you mean that the steering tends to drift excessively down the road camber to the kerb, then that could well be down to incorrect tracking - possibly caused by wear. Considering what else has been happening, you might also check that the front wheels are pointing straight ahead when the steering wheel is central! After all, it’s possible that the car suffered some front end damage and repair before you got it?
  21. I feel like i''m the only one who still carries around a load of CD's with me lol. When the young salesman was first showing me the car, he laughed about the fact it still had a CD player fitted as though it was an old 8-track tape cassette (remember them!) - he seemed somewhat surprised when I told him that's how I listen to my music.
  22. Keep in mind that the 300e is a rebadged bz4x ( much more than any other Toyota-Lexus vehicle)
  23. I still have this weird stat of being an owner but having never seen one on the road (obviously excluding the one i'm driving, and the ones I went to look at in showrooms!) I took mine out last weekend, and when parked up, someone came over and started chatting, saying he loved the car, and had seen another one the day before, so I said he had seen one more than I had on the road!
