I have registered an interest in the class action. The security failing increased my insurance significantly, I have had to purchase additional security measures, and I have spent a lot of time communicating with Lexus about the issue before they finally admitted that there was a flaw and they had a free fix. I only found out through a friend who works in the car insurance sector and he told me about the security flaw (which was known by the insurers) and that Lexus had their head in the sand about it and didn’t want to admit anything. Pretty outrageous behaviour to let the customers deal with the consequences and financial implications.

Yes, you don’t also qualify for Lexus finance offers, as it’s not a retail Lexus purchase. They can setup their own finance but will be around 9%.

You’ve all just got to make sure the radiator’s changed at 100k miles too to prevent the gearbox oil cooler devastation I’ve been preaching this for ages but didn’t do it, nor even think about it on my 2006 Honda Legend that went “ pop “ at 149k miles recently Sorted now thankfully at ok cost for me, gearbox saved ,,,,,,,,, no air suspension for me on any car either Reading all the air set-up requirements can piecemeal fail overtime ,,,,,,, a risk one takes ,,,,,,,, There’s not that many owners hold on to their cars long enough to be able to plan this preventative maintenance stuff Lexus owners of older models seem to be in this rare group tho’ 👏 Good luck Malc

Did you downgrade/change your seats from standard in the Takumi (to Tahara)? There was a similar post in a LBX Facebook group - apparently by changing the seats you lose “electric/memory seats, paddles, rear air vents and acoustic glass.”. This apparently wasn’t noted on dealer spec lists until recently… and has caught other people out.

Reject it as “not as described. “ Or negotiate a big discount if you prefer.

They are not the same, if I am not mistaken the one in the IS300 is self dimming/photochromic while the one in the IS200 isn't

I’d be tempted to start it every few days either manually or by the app but I use mine every day so never had an issue.

Mines hovering around 60 mpg but that’s mainly to work and back through traffic. If I go out of town then it’s usually 65 - 75 mpg. The highest I’ve seen is 93 back from the pub 30 mins away.

Hi John, I picked my Takumi up a few weeks ago and the drivers seat is electric and the spec seems accurate. The latest brochure says powered seat so don’t know what’s happened there. The electric seat has a seat base angle adjuster which for me makes it much more comfortable as it supports my legs better so it’s a good thing to have. It also has paddle shifters so I’d be on to the dealer for an exchange as it’s not as described. I bought it out of the showroom so I presume it was an early build.

I know the odds on seeing another in the wild are extremely low, but I had an encounter earlier this week in Lincoln city. I had made a turn that resulted in my going up a dead end road, and I then had to do an about-turn. Whilst doing so, I stopped the progress of a white convertible LC! I recall it had a personalised plate and if the driver is a forum member I'd like to apologise for making a faff of the whole manoeuvre, but navigating one's way around Lincoln isn't without it challenges. So what are the odds of seeing another LC and to come across it in an unfamiliar city whilst I was making a 180-degree turn that ultimately meant there were two LC's nose to tail. Even my wife couldn't believe it, and trust me, she also knows how rare these cars are!

You're not wrong. Kia and hyundai have a security vulnerability. There's a gameboy shaped key code generator that can get you in them remotely within seconds. No physical access required. Ev6 ioniq 5 and 6 seem to be vulnerable.

Yes I did look online and there were a few on Ebay but too much wear and damage on the leather. I will keep looking and use a pillow for now :-) Thank you for your input! Martin

I swapped out my air suspension for coilovers on my 2002 Ls430 absolutely best thing I've done to car, put Maxspeedingrods on fully adjustable they cost me £230 all in plus very easy job to do yourself with a few basic tools 😀

Hi all, Wondering if anyone on here has taken delivery of a Takumi yet. I ordered mine about 3 months ago and went to collect today. To be honest I'd forgotten the difference in the specs between the Takumi and Premium Plus and queried the lack of drivers seat powered adjustment at the time but now I've got home I've realised there are no paddle shifts either. Going through the list of specs I've managed to get hold off, it seems that most of the other things on the list- the alloys, speaker system and varying lighting options etc are as specced but wondered what others had been supplied with on their Takumis. Negotiations with the dealer have already opened but they say they've supplied a Takumi however agree it's not to the spec that is on the website. Thanks in advance! John.

If you use Ebay, there are several listed for the IS200 - not sure if they are the same as the IS300 version. There is a part number on the back of the mirror, you could compare that to the ones on Ebay.

Red looks better in the flesh, particularly when sunny. Worth considering interior leather colour combinations too. Orange is the best and by far most valuable/sought after…..

With my last car, I got into the habit of turning the key off whenever I came in the house, I've just continued doing that with the NX.
