Time For The Is To Go...

I have recently ventured into parenthood and it is already becoming increseasingly apparent that i need a bigger car - one that can cope with all the paraphernalia that accompanies a 2 month old baby. Don't worry though folks, i'm not going to leave the Lexus brand - I'm looking for a GS300 SE with Sat Nav to replace the IS.

What do you reckon i should be asking for the IS? It's a 1999 T IS200SE finished in unmarked Granite Sky with 70k. Excellent condition (purchased from Lexus Worcester in July 2003) with new tyres/alloys and rear lip spoiler with brake light.

Cheers,

Sandeep

True the boot is small on an IS, but should be big enough. I went to France last year, with wife, 1yr old and 5 yr old, all the associated kids stuff and still managed to bring back 60 litres of wine in the boot.

I recently have been thinking about this issue. Would like an RX but big money to me!

As you say, GS and IS have poorly designed boots, whoever said you can fit 4 golf bags in the IS must be joking! Maybe if you converted the boot size into a proper rectangular box you could!!

Thing is, if I went RX type car, then I would like the new Volvo, as its rated the best fake off roader. Better than the B*W X5 even.

My advice, get a roof rack and keep the IS. Or get a second hand estate or something. Say an old 850 volvo, cheap to buy, reliable and BIG!

Then you can keep the IS.
