...thanks kindly...surprised at how much I am impressed by it and used this terrific forum to inform the purchase...hence the brake attention at the weekend!

And having read about spark plug discussions...this car has had 2 changes in 45k miles!

Very clean car! Looks looked after. If the plugs have already been done, I wouldn't stress about changing them. If you want oil and filter, let me know. We sell performance car parts including HKS. 5W30 HKS Oil is what I use. Magnetic oil drain plug is also a worthy upgrade. You don't want metal shavings floating around 🙂

Welcome to LOC Giles, I find the LOC very friendly and informative, you probably know that by now.

The car looks really nice and clean, goof choice there.

I am intersted why you choose Lexus as a brand? What was your car before? I came from BMW so always (as all in here know) curious why other people decide to go with Lexus.

Will the car be your daily driver?

Hi buddy...I have had a number of previous cars including a 6 series BMW, lovely car. Currently have a mini cooper, an old  Porsche 911 and wife has a Mercedes SLK...I like Japanese cars...have owned 5 Accords (2.4 Estates)  including a Type R... Had a lovely old  Mercedes SL which we took to Provence a few times...fabulous old Merc build quality!

...fancied a Lexus and this lovely example came up so grabbed it...it's in truly beautiful condition...and such a pleasure to drive!

Hello Giles and welcome to the LOC.

That looks in fantastic condition and 45,000 miles is really nothing for these cars, spark plugs have probably been replaced based on age not mileage and if they are iridium good for 60,000 miles.

How did you find the car, must have been a friend or family tip off? I recently got myself a very nice 2003 from a fellow member.

...Thanks kindly and it's genuinely immaculate coupled with a complete lexus service record it drives as you,'d expect. The build quality is exceptional isn't it...and so smooth and quiet...I'm definitely a convert!

However, the model I was always intrigued by was the LS range which are I suspect another step up build and refinement wise?

Reading this forum was very helpful in knowing what to look for...very little as it turns out!

Ssssssshhhhhh!!!! It’s a well known fact amongst Lexus owners but not so much with everyone else, until they actually get one that is! And then realise they should have got one years ago.

fact ( trying to find source)

Average BMW driver is aged 32

Average Merc driver is aged 42

Average Lexus driver is aged 52

goes to show to get wiser as you get older!

...I should have got one years ago...only just got it but it's already under my skin and I'm a seriel car swapper;ask my wife...interestingly spoke with Lexus stoke today and the service principle has an is250...says alot...also says they are bullet proof! Good to know...

Im not going to tell anyone how good they are...our secret...

Oh yes they're bullet proof. Of late I've taken to red lining mine every time I drive it. Its ruddy intoxicating and so much fun aswell as a smooth refined drive.

Oh and welcome to the Lexus family. Excellent car you have.
