Hi all, Looking to renew insurance for2020  NX300h Prem Sport: Back ground info: No claims convictions in last 5 years, 17 Yr NCD touchwood. 6k Miles a year social domestic commuting, we live in Harrow. Last Year policy was 480, this year the lowest is 650 mark, but most insurers are asking 800+. Looking at call to quote insurers. Is NFU insurance any good, and what sort of price are they asking.

One must disclose the variant/trim level of the model (e.g. Sport, Takumi, etc.) this isn't seen as a modification, simply the vehicle you have but the variants will have different spec levels and may incur different repair costs so insurers need to know the variant/trim level.

Anything done to the car after it left the factory is considered a modification.

Vishi,

As there are SO MANY variables with insurance.... and, to be fair, no other LOC member will have exactly the same details as you,  - why not just ring up NFU ?

They are likely to be at the expensive end of the premiums though......

Hi Dave, thanks for getting back to me, I was just trying to establish what sort of prices they charged, i am willing to pay a small premium like 10%-20% to avoid a company like the insurance with the pirate cap, espescially as the car has factory optional extras.

Vishi,

I today received a quote from NFU, (I found the Customer Services lad extremely pleasant).

They were within £5 the same price as renewal with my current Insurer (Liverpool Victoria), and only 15% dearer than the very cheapest quotation I'd received of the 48 quotes through Compare the Market.
