New Lexus Link + app released 18th Aug

Recommended Posts

Just downloaded it on my Samsung phone. I have a feeling that it might not be strictly for UK owners but it does work OK.

At first glance it does look slightly better. The "home" screen has been revamped with the addition of various "cards" (e.g. "Remote Control"; the car's status with regards to any warning lights; service and maintenance history; and the last journey's hybrid coaching stats). These cards can be rearranged or even hidden if desired. They have also added the "range to empty" figure alongside the pre-existing mileage and remaining fuel percentage figures. Looks like they have removed the "last known location" information though (unless I'm missing something).

There is a tab to plan a journey but although I could search for a location I couldn't see how I could start the route or send it to the car.

The separate "hybrid coaching" display looks better in my opinion - you no longer need to click into a journey to see the most pertinent stats (EV usage; MPG; etc.).

[The above is what I can see for my NX350h - not sure what is displayed for other models \ variants]

Still needs a bit of work though - for example a card that I had previously hidden reappeared when I relaunched the app.

A step in the right direction I guess.

Just installed it and first impressions are positive.  Much improved.

I am wondering if Lexus are launching this in stealth mode to gauge interest and measure feedback as I have not seen any news or updates about a new app from Customer Service.

Looks good but … seems to have some restrictions.

While operating remote climate, cannot open the car until climate is switched off.

Cannot operate climate while the car is opened.

Will the new Lexus Link + app run alongside the Lexus Link app?

I don't believe so.

When I installed the new + app, I had to register my car (Connected Services; etc.) to it. Now when I launch the old app it tells me that my car has been "migrated" to the new app and won't let me go any further with it. So it looks like, although they can be both installed on your phone, it's one or the other when it comes to connecting to your car. That's how it appears on Android anyway.

Wasn't that the case with the original app?

Just installed but I continually get a 'An error occurred. Please try again later' when trying to accept the Standard and Remote Services terms of use.

All working now that I've approved a few links that were blocked by Pi-Hole. Initial thoughts - looks quite nice.

Downloaded, it’s a lot better than the previous app, I like seeing the actual EV miles to the petrol miles and the breakdown of both in the overall driving time.

Unless I'm missing something, doesn't appear to give any more functionality than the previous app.  Agreed the layout is better but still miles behind the competition.  Am awaiting the car arriving home to test the remote lock/unlock function.  Can't see any option to send nav to the car even though it lists this on the lexus website.

So it would appear that the app unlock will not work if the car has been locked with the key which according to the notification seems to be because of the alarm being set.  It does work fine if the car is locked with the app but I then wonder if the car is alarmed using this method.

Flashing the hazards works well!

Just downloaded this. Better format than the previous version but not a huge step forward in functionality. Indeed the service history was more detailed previously. Will wait to see if its more reliable as trips were becoming more frequently missed of late!

Downloaded it and had a few issues signing in - told they were sending me a verification code to complete - still waiting for the code, but tried again and I got in.

Remote control card not visible - signed off and on again and still not visible, did “pull down refresh (iPhone) and it appeared - not tried to use this yet so cannot comment on others comments.

Do have a question - in the Hybrid Coaching card it only shows the previous months info. (24 Jul - 23 Aug)   How do I view trips previous to this ?
