Anyone recommend this battery?

Recommended Posts

Time to replace the Battery on my 2005 SC430.  Obviously need something heavy duty with a good guarantee as a direct replacement.   Just looking around online, could anyone tell me, would this particular one be a good option?

My recent’ish Varta experience isn’t good

Yuasa have been brilliant

but I always buy the highest quality, life etc Yuasa

And I used to buy from the Toyota Main Dealer Spares Dept in times past where the pricing was very competitive

But times change !

I’ve never bought a Battery from Halfords

Good luck

Blimey. GSF. I bought big 5yr warranty Yuasa silver one from my local store last August when I bought my 91 Ls400 ….. £166

Not much reduces in price but it’s now £133 👍

Might be a great time to buy your new Battery Perry !

Yep!  This looks the best deal out there, thanks.  A separate search revealed that the ‘HSB’ range still being sold by Halfords are the older items and have been superceded by the newer YBX range.  I’m ordering via ‘batterycharged.co.uk’.  As you say, £94 deleivered.

AVOID VARTA  at all costs .................

the replacement Varta Battery supplied under the RAC Warranty has FAILED ....  but at the garage replacing my Honda radiator .....  it couldn't hold it's charge and after much trying ......  so the garage provided a replacement that hopefully will now outlast the remaining warranty period of the useless Varta one ..... I've not bothered contacting the RAC to have a whinge .....  it'll be too much hassle, life's too short methinks !

I can't actually see the make of the new Battery tho', it's seriously screwed down with the brackets and the make isn't at all visible at this time ...  and I haven't the energy to get-to and dismember the clamps 😅

Yuasa, especially the version with the 5 year warranty, is supposed to be some ofnthe very best batteries that money can buy. I've always been fairly happy (except for the one with a maunfacturers fauly which got replaced at year 3).

My current SC430 came with a black 3 year warranty Yuasa Battery fitted, seems to be lasting longer between smart charger top ups, compared with previous silver 5 year warranty Yuasa I’ve had👍🏻

part number YUASA YBX3095.
