Which Brake Pads?

After 40000 miles my front brake pads need changing on My IS200 sport. (Rears still only 30% worn!!)

Now then I have had three quotes. Lexus Hatfield quoted £150 + Vat. My local garage say £80 including.

Is it just that Lexus are expensive or will they be using different types?

Which do you suggest I go for?

Thanks

I've just had all 4 replaced with OEM Lexus Parts at the dealers.

The Mintex pads which ProLex-UK have for sale are rated very highly, think you get slightly less dust too.

I just went with the stock stuff as it's rated much higher than what the car needs anyway so is fine for my driving, some of the guys have uprated disks, pads, and a couple even have big brake kits which look great, but I don't really need them on my car.

As you all know, I've just bought my lex just recently. When nottingham carried out the service before I picked it up they said that the pads were half worn and would probably need changing around the time of the next service. However I've seen how much the old pads dust onto the wheels and its really bad, so I wanted to get a pair of these mintex pads for the fronts, but will I have to change the standard discs (I've been told there ok) or will they be ok - they won't warp?

Thanks,

Purvesh
