plenty of companies offering this and quite cheap too- has positive points but also negative - worst case eg if ur in an accident it will make the glass harder to break if someone needs to get into the car.

I always thought it would make it harder for anyone to break in to the car...but if you were inside then you could easily smash it out? Am I completely off here?

The glass will smash easy enough inside or out, its just that it stays held together by the film rather than smashing into a million pieces. It would take a little bit more messing around to get the glass out, enough maybe to deter a thief but in the case of accident in my opinion i would say it is safer. If someone has to smash the window say from the outside to take out a child in the back seat, it would stop the glass shattering all over the child. In reverse, i dont think an adult would have a problem kicking out the entire glass if need be in an emergency.

Safety and practical is an issue...

I'm not too serious on it...but I think they start from £300 but not sure how many glass...

costs - i cant remember an exact price, but i do remember it being slightly more than the cost of a normal tint at a reputable fitter.

they can do supaglass in a clear film as well.

i will be getting it on my IS, i have seen it in action and i was impressed, i threw a brick at it and nothing happened the brick just bounced off!!, they say it would take about 4-5 hammers blows to crack it.

i remember when Mat got locked out of his IS, he had to hit the side window quite a few times and very hard with a hammer before it would break and that was on a normal screen.

Its not glass, its a film that they apply to the inside of the windows. It can be clear or tinted as well but with modern laws, the front ones need to be clear (the pentagon guy said they won't apply any tint whatsoever on fronts)

As a rough quote, he said would cost about £800 to have supaglass all-round (except front windscreen) and also sun-protection (all except rear screen) so I guess it would be a bit less if you just wanted the supaglass on its own.

only a FILM Just shows I wasn't reading the info well then...thought it was the glass itself was built like that.

If it's a film...I cannot justify £800 spending on it :duh:
