Drive’s of my life

He’s a list of the cars I’ve owned over the last eighteen years.

First car I ever bought in 1986 was a:

Daihatsu Charade cost sec/hand £2000 from here on in I’m not too sure of the years.

Green Rover 214i cost ex demo £4000 hated it sunroof leaked and the gear selector arm dropped off.

Red Honda CRX 15i cost sec/hand £ 3000 sold year later for £4000 great car

Black Honda CRX 16i cost new £ 10,000 an unbelievable motor went like stink. Had to go due to marriage break-up gutted

Red golf (cl) cost sec/hand £ 3500. It got me from A 2 B. left the forces returned back to the UK.

White Escort cost sec/hand £700 drank more oil than petrol, sold it couple of mths later for 800 quid

White Metro 1275 GT engine, cost sec/hand £1200 cracking little motor used it to teach people to drive in.

White Honda CRX 15i cost sec/hand £1275 (didn’t come with a radio) not good UK insurance too high, had to go.

Blue Metro cost sec/hand £1000 bought it 1995 just got in to the police force. Soon found out it was an insurance write off, and the car wasn’t that road legal.

Black Ford Sierra cost sec/hand £5000 nice motor, had 1350000 on the clock before I sold it.

Silver Renault Laguna cost sec/hand £6000  had a big boot!

Finally 2003 I bought my Lexus IS200 se, sec/hand for £16000 I’m speechless, a part from I still think it’s a new motor :D

Whats next

wow! thats alot of cars.... heres my list (bit shorter :P)

: Fiat Punto 75 sx (1997 reg) bought in 1999 for £4500, only 13k on the clock. drove it until i got fed up with repairing it all the time! Sold for £2500!

Lexus IS200 S (2000 reg) bought in 2004 for £7300.

um, and thats it..... i know what you mean about where to go next!

My parents used to have a GS300 and loved it to bits, they sold it (for some crazy reason :duh: ) and now just have a run around. They still say that its the best car they have ever had!!!!!

laugh.

1st Car (98): 95M Rover 214SEi. Great car until bits started dropping off.

2nd Car (99): 98R Volvo S40 T4 CD. Great interior, v. quick. Lots of buttons.

(2000 - accident in the volvo. Young driver = 50% fault must be mine. Insurance gets scary.)

3rd Car (00): 98S Peugeot 306 TD. Lots of fake wood. Slow as hell. Very cheap to run.

4th Car (01): 99T Lexus IS200 SE Auto Navigator. Ordered it over the net from BMW's headquarters in Munich (client meeting!).

5th Car (02): 52 Lexus IS300 Navigator. My first new car ever.... love it.

and, after much soul searching....

6th Car (05): 55 Lexus IS250. Couldn't be anything else...

It's a depressing realisation that the range of cars is opened up more to me, cos I'm old - got an insurance quote on a 35K group 20A car last week... fully comp insurance is cheaper than 3rd party was on the Rover 214.

Interesting thread....

As a student with no money, I've used what's been available to me which was:

From passing my test at 17 till 19, 1998 Renault Scenic (was a lot of fun)

Then from 19 till now, 2002 IS200 (best car so far, but not much competition :P )

When I actually start working at the end of the year, what next methinks?
