Led Sidelights

Recommended Posts

Got myself a pair of those white quad LED sidelights and think they're great!!

All for the princely sum of about £6 - amazing value

Trying to find amber ones for the front indicators.

Is there such a thing??

Ultraleds.co.uk

7440 type connection, 15 super bright amber LED

Don't forget you'll need some extra resistance or new blinker relay to stop them from hyper flashing. Also, being LEDs, they'll be very directional. Not sure how this will affect it in the indicator application, but there's an example of my park lights in this thread.

I think he is refering to the viewing angle Mr M ;)

Correct. :)

And just in case anyone reading this is confused let's summarise...

- LED's produce a very directional light beam (as demonstrated in linked pics)

- As LEDs are diodes (Light Emiting Diodes) they have polarity and must be inserted the right way around for them to work, and finally

- resistors are have no polarity.

Barrel light - no haven't done that one, I have no idea how to do get at it

Rear licence plate lights - you have to open the boot lid and remove the trim and get at it from the back....fnarrr fnarrr

Mr Morse .. the rear plate lights .... are they also the wedge type 7440 bulbs?

No - they are the smaller 501 type, same as the front sidelights

Bott LEDs - never thought of that one....

I take it Ultraleds will do them?

Wonder if he has a suitable bulb for the igntiion barrel :duh:

What do you mean Murray - Bott LED's?

The ignition barrel probably uses one the 268 type dash bulbs, Robert at Ultraleds could tell you, or maybe one of the members?

Anyway, here's a link for the barrel:
