Hks Sld On A Altezza Tip

hi my car seems to be limited to 112 mph, has any one fitted a hks sld, will this work with my car and how easy are these to fit

I'm sure there are a few peeps on here, think a few of the Irish guys have these installed.

You don't really need one though, you can't go more than 70 in this country anyway ;)

I have an SLD2 (SLD 1 is for manuals only) fitted to my tiptronic as RSM's won't work with Auto's.....

it doesn't work 100%, it will allow you to go over 180kph but it effects the revs in 4th gear as it will now not rev to 7200 and will auto change up to 5th earlier which makes it take longer to MAX out....

would i buy one again.... nope, not worth it

Its not just with the his one that you get this, you will get it with probibly all derestricting devices, only way is with new ecu so iv been told. Mine is like this too,

hi do all the tiptronics/auto seem to rev quite alot and not really move much, i had a celica with 140 bhp manual and that seemed faster, ive noticed that in first and second theres not much ummph there in third its slighlty better

I've noticed that with the box in auto but what happens if you hold the range in 4 with the tip?

it'll still show "4" in the display but you can hear and feel it change up to "5th" .... :(

I had a look at this ECT Controller but didn't get past that stage.

Looks like you can programme the box to do what you want including tiptronic shifting.

Is that controller saying you can turn any auto transmission into a "tiptronic"? Sounds like a cool device if it is.

with mine when you put it in tiptronic mode you can change through all the gears when its in fourth gear you can keep your revving till it hits the rev limiter, then you can change it to fifth but when you do that you can only accelerate a little bit, cos if you going in fifth at 4000rpm and you put your foot down it will automaticaly change back down to forth gear and stay on the limiter, this can become very annoying and its not that good for the engine too,

could it be you need a diff type of HKS SLD ? The one on a 1997 > Aristo is different from that on 93-97 cars (later Aristo also has tiptronic ???
