Do Xenon bulbs work?

I'm looking for something that is brighter and whiter than the standard is200 bulbs but do not want the propper HID kits

I dont want anything stupidly bright that may dazzle or blind other road users

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9006-HB4-XENON-HEADLIGHT-BULBS-LEXUS-GS-300-93-04-IS200-/350213865259?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item518a5f7f2b

Is there anyone who has tried or used these Xenon bulbs and what is your opinion on them?

these bulbs might only last a couple of months and they go out! I have also heard of some throwing check engine lights once they are fitted but not sure as mine is HID's from factory!! best is to just go HID's and you have a selection of shades of brightness to choose from. they are a bit pricey compared to the link you have above but will last longer and look cool!! i think some do come with 12months warranty aswell worth ringing them for more info..

Hi, I put Xenon bulbs in my is and was very disappointed, it cost me around £50 and I got them from Halfords ( big big mistake ) as the hid kits from hid4u are about £50 aswell, should of just gone for hids to start of with but I didn't no about them at the time.

DON'T BOTHER WITH XENONS

HIDS ALL THE WAY...

ps don't buy any of eBay there all fake and won't last, go to hid4u like noby76 said.

Hope that helps

Lewis.

Those eBay bulbs are rated at 7500k, which will be pretty blue/purple-ish and not as effective as a lower temperature rating. They'll probably still be brighter than stock bulbs but 4300k will be a better bet if you're after the best possible performance and a "super white" output similar to factory HIDs.

As for whether Xenon bulbs work...Yes they do. I've a pair of MTEC brand bulbs in my main beam and they're miles better than the normal Halogens and a good colour match for my HID dipped beam. I got them from http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/ but they also have an eBay store.

As others have said. You would be far better going for a full hid kit. If you get the kit from a decent place, you wont dazzle other road users. Its just cheap kits that do that.

I have used these blue bulbs and they do light up the road considerably more, to the point that I noticed that drivers were getting blinded. I could see them adjust the mirror inside and also flash and beep me because of the glare. I switched back to my regular yellow bulbs straight away as I hate people who blind me with lights. I drive more slowly at night now, but the best way seems to be a HID kit and have them properly adjusted by a specialist, lots of guys on here have done this.
