Hi all - just bought an SC and it looks like a very exclusive club :-).

It is Pearl White which i think is also a bit rare - 2003 with only 17255 on the clock so like a new car. We have added around 300 miles in last few days and all seems well.

I had an IS in 2007 so joined the forum then - i never thought i would be back in this section :-)

Thanks Phil.

Will get some when the weather stops trying to drown us all.

I went for some petrol yesterday with the roof down - got lots of looks from others at the garage and a 'thats a nice car' from the bloke on the till

Does seem to turn heads

Hi

Well done. You've got yourself a great model with very low mileage. Where did you come by such a car?

I have just joined the forum and I am looking for SC430 with similar mileage. Anyone know anyone?!

Have a good day

Mick

That's lovely. If only I'd gone through a mid life crisis when I had the chance, I could have had one of those. Too late now I'm an old git!

Don't worry, were all 'old farts' at heart!

Over the past 30 years of driving, the only thing that has changed with me (apart from the lack of hair), is the car!

Still looking for an LS and RX to complete the collection!

Having said that, a proper LS would be perfection (but don't tell the misses) :whistling:

I recently decided to sell my 2002 SC due to insufficient usage and, like an earlier Club member, contacted 'webuyanycar' to get an idea as to its possible value. Their response was to offer £4600 for a car which has done less than 49000k, has full Lexus service history and has LED a cosseted life. Clearly this is unacceptable and beggars belief.

What I find strange is that their 'blurb' states that they have millions of satisfied customers - I wonder where they all are????

I have been fortunate in having owned many fine sports cars and the SC stands high in my satisfaction list, are we the only enthusiasts to to appreciate the SC's unique qualities????

I think the company you refer to is in the same league as the gold buyers and the payday loans people or what used to be the Pawn shops - still are i think. That is, if you need the money they are buyers for sellers in distress. If you dont need it there are better alternatives.

Our economic climate enables them to thrive .... sadly

Never trust "we buy any car", in my opinion They are just rip off merchants. Complete waste of space. Sell privately every time if you have a car with full history that has been well maintained.

Think about it for a second...they have to make a good profit(otherwise the firm folds) which means they can only offer a rubbish price in order to be able to sell at a realistic price(or dare I say a stupidly high price).

Please can you let me know where your car is advertised? Thanks.

I have to agree with comments re webuyanycar and much prefer to buy and sell to private individuals. I have even been known to reject a sale because of doubts over suitability of prospective new owner!!

In reply to earlier question I have not advertised the car anywhere as yet but should any club member wish to know more then please give me ring. 01748 822435.

Whatever you do, don't let your car go for this price - if you can't get a higher price, I will buy it!

Better selling to a person who appreciates this car than a company just trying to make a profit!!

Otherwise, put an advertisement on this site and other car sites - just don't give this vehicle away!

Quite correct AND they put most of their stock through auctions which means their price must be lower than an auction price if they are to make a quick profit

I am not surprised WBAC offer such low amounts they are just rip off merchants from what I have heard they even haggle on the price when you take the car in. Claiming its not as described etc. They do have customers who just want to get rid of their cars and don't like to advertise etc. In fact some people are happy to just give the car away to places like cartake back .com etc . These vehicles often end up in car supermarkets at silly prices and even bigger idiots buy them.. As for the SC in resale I don't think we are the only ones who appreciate it. It does have unique qualities. Smoothness quietness, lack of thirst too for a 4.3 V8. effortless cruising . A great roof a wonderful sound system and top build quality. But I don't think its a sports car. Not really. It doesn't handle well enough but that's not what most of us buy it for. Fact is it seems to sell very well the numbers for sale (very few) compared to the numbers on the road (not that many either) seem to suggest they sell very easily when reasonably priced.

We buy any car is a unbelievable establishment. Its amazing its even legal, although saying that they have had a few meetings with trading standard i believe over false advertisement and such. I mean i understand they are a business at the end of the day and of course will buy your car with a profit in mind but were talking over 50% less of a private sale and probably 25% less than a trade. Its day light robbery. There customer service is terrible also. and remember they are part of the car craft group, another rip off company
